So with a 700W no-name PSU right now running an i7-860 and a 250GTS as well as 3 LED-Fans, two HDDs and a DVD-Drive, should that be my top priority for an upgrade?

So if not Corsair, you'd recommend Seasonic (Shadow) or Thermatake (tinker)?

I know Corsair kicks ass, but how do other brands compare to Corsair? The other brand I'm considering the most right now is Antec. But how do the less known brands keep up? Coolermaster, Thermaltake, so and so forth...

Oh also, generally, and I've done a lot of research, pre-builts with a high-end GPU will skyrocket the price. According to what I've seen, buying a computer with a good processor and replacing, or even crossfiring two high-end GPU's, you will get much, much more bang for your buck. By the way, the desktops tweez and Kscorp linked are pretty good also, I'm just saying...

That's where I somewhat disagree with you: Meeting minimum Wattage isn't necessarily the greatest thing, because 400W is the requirement for the GPU only, without regards to your Processor, and other hardware. As KScorp mentioned, if you can afford it, always go above the requirement for a better efficiency. And Tyler, instead of blowing $80 on a 550W Corsair PSU, I'd spend $75 and get a 650W Antec PSU. Antec makes some sweet PSU, too.

When you are getting a PSU, make sure you get a quality one. The PSU is not the part you want to be skimming on. A bad PSU can easily, easily fry everything else in your computer. I myself have never heard of "Ultra". Kscorp listed a nice Corsair PSU that will last you a while, but at 400W, it will be enough to get a low - medium GPU but you'll still limit your expansion options for the future. Don't get me wrong, Corsair is known for it's godly PSUs, but at 400W, most newer-ish cards will still be starved.

The thing is, with a 165W PSU, any card you install will only be able run at a fraction of it's maximum capacity. In my opinion, you need to upgrade that PSU first.

Well, if you already have a half-good desktop, it's not going to make THAT MUCH of a difference. But, apparently it really helps for laptops and for instability and incompatibility problems.
