Alright, got some people going for me on the technical aspect.. I'll take the "need" aspect of it.. I still can't possibly see why people would only use the much larger bandwidth to something negative? I never said that I have a halo above me, but I know for sure, that the first thing I would be thinking of if I had a better connection wouldn't be darn illegal stuff.. What do you think of when you get your salary each month? Do you think guns and drugs? .. If you do, honestly, I feel sorry for the low amount of life quality you have! Why have such a destructive way of thinking, that everyone would just become mad evil if they had some better tools, which this eventually would be? Oh and btw .. What we need more bandwidth for? Well.. I know the two largest fiber-providers in Denmark provides TV through your fiber-connection.. Theres some bandwidth usage for you! Again, if you don't like it or you don't want it.. Then just dont get it! If you, as quite some of us apparently, can see the positive, useful aspect of this - why keep arguing its a bad thing?

I cant agree with any of that. There is a reason that you can get 10 times the speed on the fiber cables compared to the dsl cables. Yes, at the moment, you wont feel the big increase in speed, as you might only have fiber from your house and to the cablebox around the corner, but thats no reason to not put it in the ground! If we only had fiber, we would feel a big increase.. Thats like saying that the second car model that was made wouldn't drive faster, even though it had some newer and better parts .. No, that is kind of true - it won't drive faster yet! A chain is not stronger than its weakest link .. But why shouldn't we keep upgrading the other links until the whole chain is upgraded? You make it sound as there is no reason to use fiber .. Yes there is - in the long run + you get better download and upload speeds.. I dont believe that people mostly will use it for piracy.. What kind of crap is that? Its like saying that if you make the cars go faster, the only thing they will be used to is breaking the speed-limit and robbing banks? Wut? I wouldn't be doing more illegal activities based on my internet speed? Are you? Because then I suggest you to downgrade your connection for your own safety! I like not having to wait for my youtube video to load.. I hate waiting - thats why I would be paying for a better and larger connection...

And then again.. You would most likely get a way better latency as it is not cable but fiber.. Hence, not an electrical current but light.. That's why you can reach amazing speeds compared to what we're used to..
