  1. save your money then, in a couple of months new gfx cards + mobo's + processors come out then all the prices will drop, then you will be able to get an i7 + mobo + ram very cheap
  2. How long?

ive been here to long Goodbye:wave:
  3. depends on your budget, if you have a tight budget, there are some really cheap+good AMD boards and processors, but if you have a budget of more than £450 ($750) go Intel
  4. depends on your budget
  5. nice computer, but for that price you really should be able to afford a solid state hdd for that extra quickness
  6. mobile graphics cards are bad at the best of time, you cant overclock them that much, you cant up upgrade them, you can mod them. and in my opinion, the 8600M is one of the worse mobile version ever produced. and it shouldnt "EASILY" handly CSS at max settings, no way. that is where you are getting the performance issues. your graphics card just isnt good enough to run anything on max settings, maybe solitare and thats it. to get better performance there are several scripts out there that can turn a lot of setting down/off that you cant in the video options. the game will not look pretty but u will have a constant frame rate with no lag. also try running the game in dx8 and see if that helps.
  7. yes there is a 4gb module, but they cost $150 each, and it isnt worth getting 2 of them as you will not see the performance increase your want to
  8. BestBuy fucked up mega time
  9. but it says "sold out online" LOL
  10. hope they dont notice it then untill its too late
  11. its actually legit, they cocked up, now they have to sell it to you for that price
  12. ok, the ram you suggested is slower than what your laptop can support. just had a quick look the best you can do with your budget is to replace your current 4gb of ram with 4gb faster ram with low latency timings http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104026 if your are getting everything installed bay a professional/ some who knows what they are doing, a new cpu with higher clock speeds and incresed L2 Cache would improve your video performance http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819111001 but unfortunatly i cant see anyone who sells mobile graphics cards, if anyone know a site please post it
  13. the graphics card that i posted has fantastic bang-4-bucks and is compatable with your motherboard, http://download.cnet.com/SiSoftware-Sandra/3000-2086_4-10556571.html?tag=mncol download that and click on the hardware tab once installed, click on Computer Overview, will take 30secs to populate then look what your motherboard is under System->Mainboard, then post it back here
  14. yes the memory is for laptops, but untill u find out what the maximum speed of ram that your laptop can take, we wont be able to find out if it is the best ram for your laptop
  15. ok, maybe you did not read it correctly first time round THAT IS A DESKTOP GRAPHICS CARD AND WILL NOT FIT IN A LAPTOP!!!!!!!
  16. both pages not found but did u listen to my advise, there is not point in pricing anything up yet when u dont know if its compatable and will improve your laptop. http://download.cnet.com/SiSoftware-Sandra/3000-2086_4-10556571.html?tag=mncol download this and will tell you what your motherbard is and will give us an idea on what your laptop can support
  17. ok, we need to know what your motherboard supports for type of ram. for an upgrade of cpu, also dependant on what your motherboard can support. as i know for a fact that your motherboard does not support AMD processors, try http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116072 for the graphics card, that you suggested, NO just NO. PCI-E or is it AGP Slot on your motherboard?? PCI-E - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150430 AGP - dont even bother
  18. do you know what you FSB runs at? and that gfx card is for desktop computer. ive had a quick look and i dont hink anyone sells mobile graphics cards as they have to be integrated with all the heatsinks and copper heatpipes already customised for the dimensions on the gfx and the laptop case
  19. up grading laptops is like getting blood out of a stone, all you can really do to upgrade a laptop is get a faster HDD (solid state) and increase the amount of RAM. upgrading anything else is a pain in the arse and really complicated. as for getting a blu ray drive, your 2GHz processor isnt fast enough, even though it has 2 cores its the frequency that it needs to process the video decoding for it to run smoothly if you want to upgrade your gfx/processor, you really need to take it to a speciallist... which will cost money. if you really want better performance in games and BluRay. you should think about getting a new laptop, you can get one that will do everything you want for $700 - $900. Save your money EDIT: overclocking a laptop by big amount is NOT ADVISED. too much heat will be generated
  20. new mobo, ram, gfx, psu. and yes you can overclock the nuts off the processor but the limited cache will definatly hinder your performance
  21. theres too much work to be done to get that into a half decent/ any sort of decent gaming rig. you will need to spend around $300 to get that into shape
  22. install a video driver/ re-install an up to date driver
  23. lol and the bitch still hasnt paid!!
  24. just wondering if we could set up some sort of betting for tourneys??? money, rep, point system or something for those who are knocked out or not playing in the tourney... just to add some more "spice" to the mix?? maybe move to the CA section for a vote?
  25. artic freezer pro then, but the benchmarks i seen ( installed on my computer ) says different
