  1. There's valid reasons to try it and valid reasons to not try it. You could always use the logic that we might as well try it out, but some evaluation should be done of the gamemode and it's prominence in the CSGO community. Just taking a really quick look, there's only three KZ servers at this very moment that have more than 10 people on, the top one having just about 20. It seems like there's a smaller community for it than there used to be, despite the game now being F2P. Surf and Bhop were greatly influenced by F2P though, so KZ doing well because of it isn't far-fetched. If we don't have the proper administration to run it though, I'm not sure how far we'll be able to take it or if it'll be able to contend with popular servers. Clearly they're doing something right that people enjoy and attracting players to our server over other ones will be hard to accomplish. Especially if no one with knowledge about the gamemode is willing to run it. Not entirely sure if it's worth the effort unless one of the higher ups really want to try it.
  2. That's already how it is. We foresaw possible problems regarding no one having the requirements if there weren't many people on. I believe it's 20 players that it activates at currently.
  3. 1) Saying racist terms in binary is not allowed, obviously. 2) The only forum rule regarding English only is in regards to actual posts, any language is allowed in shoutbox. 3) Why would we disallow it because some people don't know binary or you don't want to take time out of your day to understand it? Don't, lol. Completely ignore everything being said in binary, don't even pay attention to it. Most of the shit in shoutbox is completely ignored by most people and there shouldn't be restrictions other than basic rules like racism and nudity. Let people do what they want until it breaks our rules, who cares.
  4. It'd probably make sense to allow the n word in songs, it's clearly not intended to be racist and lots of really popular songs use it. Singing along on the other hand sounds like it'd just be used as an excuse to say the n word. If you're singing along, even if people ever do that, just skip over it when it says the n word. No reason to say it. Decent argument to be made for allowing it in songs, no real argument for singing along. Also in response to your second post, stuff like that is easily avoidable by just grabbing a YouTube link as opposed to typing the song name. Really comes down to how lenient the higher ups want to be, but that seems like it'd also just be an excuse to type the n word.
  5. I am not making this post to come off as hostile in any way but just wanted to voice my opinion and hear others'. I think our voices should at the very least be heard, but if your decision is final that is completely fine by me. I'm sure the title is self-explanatory, I don't believe removing TeamSpeak is the best option and I think you're doing the community a disservice. It's no secret that TeamSpeak is used way more than Discord for speaking in our community. It doesn't even come close, I don't need statistics. TeamSpeak has and would've always been the place to speak to each other and socialize. We have a distinct set of regulars who constantly utilize the server and most definitely appreciate the fact that we have it. It's extremely rare that you log on and won't see multiple channels with people in them who are chatting with each other. It's also used for our community meetings and is extremely effective for running them with the ability to request talk power and easily mass mute channels. Discord may be the next big thing for voice communication, but TeamSpeak is still the current thing. Lots of communities still have TeamSpeak servers which are active. Even GFL, they have ranks dedicated to improving Discord, have pushed to get official partnerships with the site, and have custom plugins implemented into their server, but they still run a TeamSpeak server. It's not as if we're on the last batch of people who use TeamSpeak either, people who are coming into our community are still joining up and are beginning to regularly use it as well. The quality of the voice chat is worse, too. Even though it may not be the main reason people don't use the voice chat on Discord, there is a distinguishable difference between TeamSpeak and Discord voice quality. This isn't some thing that makes Discord literally unusable, but it's just another thing on the list of reasons we shouldn't make the switch, especially when we're talking about our main way to communicate over voice. You absolutely can't run another Karaoke event or any event in which there's a significant amount of people on mic, we've tried it. It's god awful and it doesn't work whatsoever. Another thing you may want to consider is the fact that we'd be encouraging the use of the text chat as well. We all made the jokes when Discord first came out, the text chat is literally just another shoutbox. Now that we're making such a big transition though, people may begin to use Discord more than the actual shoutbox which, in turn, decreases forum activity. Our amazing forum activity is one thing that is currently setting us apart from other communities. We have an extremely active forum and possibly influencing that does not seem like a good idea for us. The final, extreme issue I see with this is the fact that it's painfully easy to set up your own Discord server. Literally two clicks and you can have a voice chat and text chat up and running, a few more and you can customize it how you like. You can invite anyone you want, make your own rules, etc. There's no need to use SG Discord, because you can just start up your own. TeamSpeak is not as simple and SG running the service makes it easier for people to communicate with each other. This simple fact is going to be the reason SG Discord won't get utilized. I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing and I'm sure there's points to be made against some of my own. I also think some different plan could be formulated, but I'm trying to target the issue that is the shutting down of TeamSpeak. I just believe there should at least be some sort of discussion about this, whether that be here or in the form of a community meeting perhaps. I'd ask kindly that this doesn't get locked immediately, despite whether or not the decision is final. I think there's a lot of people with a lot of strong opinions about this and it'd at least be nice to show them the respect of letting them respond. Despite all my opinions here, I know for a fact that there is a lot of people here who care a lot about TeamSpeak. I just hope there's some agreement that we can come to which preserves the server everyone loves so much.
  6. This can act as a to do list of sorts, but having heard so many people's opinions on the current direction of the server I thought it'd be best to just get the ball rolling on discussion that has gone stale and sort of compile it into one big discussion as opposed to bumping 4 or 5 different threads. Different things have been promised in different threads and it's getting a bit hard to keep track of. First Order - The plugin needed further development in terms of its rules and regulations after we released it but hasn't gotten much attention since then. To throw some ideas out, one person probably shouldn't be able to take !fo 3+ rounds in a row. I can see the argument that if they're doing good we should leave it alone, but I think it'd be best to restrict it somehow. People who take it over and over oftentimes give similar orders and it'd be best to keep it fresh with a new person using it. If someone wasn't doing good with it and an admin wasn't on, it'd also be somewhat self-sustaining in a sense because it would eventually restrict them. There should also be some limitations on the user's power. Not that it's fleshed out in any way, but my general opinion is that despite the fact that CTs can revoke it, giving freedays with !fo is detrimental to the success of the CT team. In some way, shape, or form it should be restricted so people can't take it and give impulsive freedays when they've spent most of the time talking about other subjects. I'm not saying they should never be able to give freedays nor am I saying this happens so often that the game is unplayable but I am saying that it usually ruins the round for the CT side when a freeday is given off the bat. Hidearms - This isn't a big subject, but the command was added back and hasn't been fully functional since then. I'm not sure if this is an issue exclusive to Jailbreak but I don't personally believe running a broken plugin is worth it. Some guy came on the forums just recently and was confused on how it worked. Not sure if everyone is of the same opinion but it's just mine and perhaps if fixes aren't working it should just be retired. Last Requests - This thread was made by @Ray and brings up some pretty valid points as to why the number of the Ts to start an LR should be increased. This is probably worth the effort and I think it's a good idea. Also, the changes we had planned for the LR plugin in this thread should be pushed through unless someone sees some obvious flaw with them. I'm aware of Wawa making some edits to the plugin but just wanted to point it all out. Off-Mic Plugin - Pretty much this, from this thread too. Something like this should be fleshed out and worked on, especially considering the current state of the server with mic spammers. In this post by WavY it was said that something of the sort was being worked on, not sure how that's going though. Jailbreak Tutorial Video - Just to reference this thread real quick, this isn't really relevant to the development of the server whatsoever but it's a JB related suggestion. A progress update would be nice. CT Bans - Not that I've been gone for a crazy amount of time, but solely going based off other people's complaints about the server at the moment, implementing CT bans at a time like this would probably be very beneficial. Retaining players while also preventing them from fucking up is pretty much the entire reason why this is a good idea. CT Restriction Time - Again looking at the current state of the server, I think it might be time to slightly increase the restriction time for playing CT. I believe it's currently 25 minutes. It seems as though it may not being working to it's full potential. I felt that at the time it was implemented it seemed to be doing a good job, but it seems like things are really out of control at this point. Increasing it by 20 or so minutes doesn't seem like a bad thing to try out. I'm not advocating for people going around fucking with their server on the basis that it can be reversed, but this is something that I think would be worth at least trying. @TheZZL has suggested this a few times, so I'm sort of bringing this up on his behalf. Days Plugin - Boredom because of repetitiveness is probably one of the main things that will make players leave. The rounds in-game are usually unique in their own way, but it is essentially just following orders, rebelling and getting killed. Some special rounds won't only retain players but will also keep players on waiting for the next one if they're predictable. Also from our JB Revamp 2.0 thread, but brought over with some explanation. I think rolling some updates out will make regulars feel as though the server is moving in a positive direction and keep them around. Not that I don't appreciate everyone's input, but I think @All Ts probably has some good input both for and against some of these ideas. Hope this helps both discussion and progress move along.
  7. @Wawa @Agent Wesker Tested this a couple times and it still doesn't seem to be working.
  8. Any updates on this?
  9. @Fieldz you still working on this?
  10. Congrats to each and every one of you, except Greggy lol what the fuck
  11. Not sure what you mean, but perhaps someone in the Administrative Manager position could push the ATs (or CAs) to do simple stuff like this. Also not sure what you're saying but in response to that thread being referenced, that's not really a to-do list whatsoever. It's you bringing a ton of suggestions to the table, including map requests when there's a section for them and also a ton of discussion about them in the thread making it a huge clusterfuck. Not saying it's a bad thread at all, but using that as the MG to-do list is not efficient.
  12. So going back to this, can we please get clarification on what the deal is with this? This rule was discussed between (some) of the BD/IA team a while ago with Gumline's application where it was quite obvious that some replies needed to be deleted because of the rule that was in place about posts. They weren't and even when I reported a post for it, it was ignored. Fast forward to now and the rule is being enforced again in some weird kind of way with some posts being deleted on Blake's application with others staying up when they aren't votes. Was there some kind of rule change without the public being notified or is everyone just on a different page in regards to the rule? @Caution @delirium @Prez
  13. It seems like no AT is taking the initiative to do this and I think it'd be in the community's best interest if it were done for every server. Sort of like a Map Downloads thread it should just be another basic sticky thread everyone has. I'd see it essentially acting as a placeholder for changes to eventually be either thrown out or moved to the Changelog as official updates. It's literally a CA responsibility, but I'm aware that the CAs probably aren't fully up to date on what the future changes would be so this should really be an AT thing initially. I'm not trying to bash the AT team but I'd assume it's not done because some might not be comfortable with introducing something like this without being told. Any thoughts on pushing this to get done? @Caution @delirium @Prez @Mad Dogg
  14. There's no plugin you can add or rule you can put in place that will stop trolls. You're suggesting stuff like increased round times on the basis that it will help fix our problem which is rule breaking. We need more admins, that's very apparent, but introducing an entire warden system among other things to combat rule breaking is futile. The server was pushing other servers out of the second US JB server spot before the game became free, we've been doing well, that's literally undeniable.
  15. I don't intend on responding to every suggestion in detail, but you're pretty much telling us to go against everything that makes our server do well. Not every suggestion here is bad, some sort of mute command and special days are some stuff All Ts and I had planned, but the other ones are just completely restructuring the server. Removing warning shots, adding death-games, adding a warden, increasing round times, these are things that go against the gameplay our server offers. It's fast paced and easy to rebel, that's what people enjoy. I'm not out right rejecting your ideas, but some of them also make very little sense when you look at your goals and what these will fix. I don't know how long you've been on SG Jailbreak, but not having these "basic" things other Jailbreak servers do does well for us.
  16. Doesn't make much sense. The only time I could ever see logic behind this is if our JB server is ranked #1 and constantly completely full. You'd be splitting the population in two and probably wouldn't even manage to get both servers full. Both server ranks would be very average as opposed to our one server doing extremely well at the moment. Implementing changes to combat mic spamming is a whole different topic though. There's definitely things to discuss on that front, but making two servers does not solve that at all.
  17. Keycaps

Does anyone know if there are any rubber keycaps out there for normal mechanical keyboards? All I found was the keycaps for the Ducky keyboards and the metal keycaps that Razer makes for their keyboards. I'm really interested in getting them, but don't see any online. I figured someone here may already use them on one of their keyboards.
  18. From the JB Revamp 2.0 thread. I absolutely agree and believe it should be pushed as soon as possible.
  19. @Wawa @WavY @Grateful Can you guys please remove the Christmas maps? SpyvsSpy is extremely glitchy which causes problems and the hurt buttons are causing a lot of avoidable chaos.
  20. @Wawa @WavY @Grateful
  21. It's great that this thread sparked discussion, but if we're done talking about the OP and are on the topic of All Ts' proposals, you could always take it to the actual discussion thread for that: https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=83490
  22. Once the nomination for the next map is completed it tells you which map won. Isn't that what you're talking about?
  23. Okay. While there isn't much to take away from your post in terms of feeding the discussion, that's a completely fair opinion to hold. I was just saying that your original post here was pretty unnecessary and it'd be nice to at least entertain the topics given how much time he probably spent making this and the potential for improvement to come out of this.
  24. We're getting something right, but it's not as if we're at the best possible performance we can be at. It's not as if we're the top Jailbreak server or are even close to getting there. For a few of them he did give explanations, but you're right, explanations for everything would've helped. That doesn't mean we still can't discuss it though.
