  1. Good movie.
  2. Ah yes let's post a pirated link on a public forum what a great idea fucking idiot
  3. Source? Any source I've checked says there is nowhere near this amount. Obviously we are way way way more than any other country, but there have not been 200+ school shootings THIS YEAR. Idk. As awful as it sounds they happen so often I'm almost numb to this. I don't feel like any change will occur with the current government officials. We need more thorough background checks and required safety training and maybe even a permit before someone can own a gun. While they're at it up the age to 21, for all guns. RIP to the poor young souls who won't live out their lives. Food for thought-- Sandy Hook was 10 years ago. Those kids would be 16 and 17 now. So many politicians swore it would never happen again. Here we stand in 2022 and nothing has changed. Nothing will change until we throw those up top out.
  4. This is a whole lot of text to admit any woman you've ever dated has left unsatisfied Very brave of you to oust yourself like that. o7 To respond seriously, people do have a right to partake in whatever sexual activity they so choose to do. As BoM said, humans have been doing this shit since we could communicate. There's nothing inherently wrong with casual sex. The problem arises when consent becomes a one-way street, and the partner on the receiving end of harassment or assault has their perspective of intimacy, relationships, and trust completely changed for their whole life. When 81% of women and 43% of men report to have experienced some sort of sexual harassment or violence in their lifetime, it's easy to blur the lines between casual sex bad and people do awful things. This is not a biproduct of casual sex. People are assholes. People should be able to enjoy casual intimacy without having to worry about being assaulted. But that's a side tangent, just felt the need to reply to this take.
  5. It's pretty simple. I am not a doctor. I am not a woman in pregnancy. I should not have a say over what a woman does with her unborn child. This shouldn't be a political issue. An abortion is a medical procedure and should be perceived as such. Banning abortion will not stop abortions, only skyrocket the amount of unsafe ones. I would rather a life never be born into this world than have a life be born into this world stuck in an unloving household, poverty stricken upbringing because of their existence, a child with no father because the father did not want a child or was not ready for a child, or a combination of any of these three. Beyond the concept of personal freedom, and quality of life for the unborn child, there's also cases of endangerment to the mother, rape, or incest (or again a combination of these) that also give a perfectly good reason to have an abortion. The thing I don't understand is... the republican party is the side that pushes pro-life, but goes on to try and block a bill that would provide vital food for infants? The party that preaches pro-life seems to stop caring about how "pro" they are to life beyond the life being born. You defeat your own point. The problem is these government officials are deriving their ethics and morals solely from their religion (also primarily a certain age group does this more so, but I won't even go into that) and it defeats the point of separating church and state. If you're going to push Christian morals in a nation that is progressively straying away from religion (Millennials and younger), that's incredibly problematic. You are ignoring the beliefs and wants of your constituents... you are not governing over them and representing them, you are ruling over them. That got a bit off topic. Tl;dr if you're some old white man who knows nothing about pregnancy who just wants to take away access to safe abortions because m'morals, please stfu.
  6. Hello there. I read a good chunk of the state of the union announcement thing and I figured I would throw in my thoughts on the movement server portion, as the majority of my effort (all of it) as SM went into them. I will try and keep this short (well, at least for me) and simple. 1) Get rid of Surf Rotation It was honestly a gamble based on a trend to begin with, and we failed to properly advertise it and get it pushed out to a large populous so the most I ever saw it at was like 10 people, and it usually sat empty or with a friend or two on it goofing off. It just never really took off and it is a waste of resources at this point. 2) Convert Hard BHOP into KZ I honestly regret even making hard bhop because it had such a small niche playerbase to begin with it likely would have never been successful. Let scrolls have his fun if he wants to. If it fails, it fails. At this point if you give him a few months to see if KZ does anything for us it can't hurt. 3) Keep the other two as is I wish I could say I still really care about movement but I don't even have CSGO installed on my computer anymore. After dumping literal thousands of hours into it I don't think I could care about it anymore. These are just the thoughts I am having looking back on my time as SM. Do as you will, just thought I'd pitch in. Ciao.
  7. I haven't been very involved in this community pretty much at all since my departure in February so my point of view may be a bit different from the truth. I know at least my stepdown and probably a few others that followed in the recent wave of step downs I noticed over the last few months could be chalked up to just a sense of hopelessness when it comes to the servers and community as a whole (or maybe not, but this is at least my perspective). I put many hours into this place to see minimal results in terms of community and server growth and it made me not want to try anymore because it felt like anything I did was going to be in futility. I briefly accepted a role to manage the marketing team when I tried to step down from the team just because at the time I would have rather thrown my last bit of energy into trying to provide a brighter future but then quickly realized I was just running on fumes and my ideas were likely uninspired and would fall flat. Average Phoenix doomer take I know, but I don't see this community reviving. That's not an insult to anyone in a position of power, it's just the matter of this era of the internet is gone. You're all lovely people and this is a place many of us hold dear, but I think the time to hang em' up so to say is coming sooner rather than later.
  8. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
  9. Fuck Amber Heard.
  10. Sit down kid

    I straight up chillin frfr
  11. event suggestions: -gmod event -some sort of event that's involving speedrunning.
  12. How the fuck did we go from talking about unbanning old permed people to talking about Banana Joe again? ffs Idk. I'm just gonna chuck in my two cents to this general topic. In my opinion, (no offense to any of the staff or how anything is ran) I don't foresee this community hosting servers for much longer than 18 months from now. It's not about management, it's more just based on the facts that gaming communities and community servers in general are a dying breed. Sure, you'll have niche gamemodes with super loyal fanbases, but that's generally it. I don't invest my time or effort into this community anymore so obviously a couple of things could have changed in the last few months but from the peeks I have seen, despite our Discord having thousands of members, it really just feels like a couple of friend groups who cross path sometimes. There seems to really be no random joining and interaction from anyone. Pretty much all the activity I see in the Discord is current staff, former staff, or long-standing regs. It doesn't feel very welcoming. I don't agree with all of what @duffy said, but he does make a good point that the Discord isn't welcoming to newcomers. It feels very clique-y and if you're not a part of it, you can't be. This isn't a new problem either. This has something that has persisted for quite a long time. I can confidently say in probably more than half of the instances of new people trying to join the Discord there would be a group of people who talk with them, proceed to make a new channel and leave them, or as soon as they leave-- shit talk them. I will admit that I am not fully innocent of this, but the point stands. Idk what to suggest to make the Discord more welcoming but
  13. pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooke
  14. Clearly you're a hard stuck iron get good lol
  15. Ah fuck. Now I gotta bump this thread too? Welcome to retirement my friend.
  16. Always honored to contribute such wonderful quotes.
  17. Alright. Here's what I came up with. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/27HrrD CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x- In my opinion is better than comparative i7s in terms of bang for your buck, power usage, etc. Cooling: Cooler Master RGB fan. This is just the RGB version of the CPU cooler I have in my own computer. Works great and isn't loud. Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E- High end motherboard for your chipset and allows for more expansion of RAM, m.2 hard drives, etc. It's also RGB. Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 32 GB- My buddy has these and he says they work great. 32GB set @ 3200 MHz. No RGB. Storage: Your SSD + Samsung Evo 970 Plus. The extra TB of m.2 speed would be great for booting your computer in seconds, and fast load times in games. Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB - This is where I diverge a little. I don't know a ton about graphics cards because I have never been in the market for one since my 1070 serves me well. Looking at the benchmark points of the 3070 Ti vs the base 3080... it's worth it to just save the money. The 3070 Ti will give you fantastic performance on any game at significantly less of a price than the 3080. The 3080s are also bigger and much more power consuming, and honestly harder to get as well. I think you'd be more than satisfied with this card. Case: Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX- Don't let the name throw you. This looks like an excellent case, and Lian Li is a great brand for cases. It's a bigger case but has great airflow and a lot of mounting spots for fans. PSU: Corsair RMx (2018) 750 W 80+ Gold - Not a ton to say. You don't really need the full 750W but it gives you room to upgrade in the future. Also it's fully modular, which is nice. Extra Fans: Lian Li also sells these. Would fit in the case, and would essentially just replace the case fans so you could have RGB. Total cost comes around $2200 for a computer that will last you years and years with great performance.
  18. I'm gonna need some more specifics. What do you plan to use this computer for? Do you have any specific desires you already know about? Any brands you prefer? I think (besides the graphics card tbh) you're really digging yourself too deep of a hole in terms of money. 99% of people don't really need a build that'll cost more than probably than $1200-$1400. Answer some of these Qs, and I'll make a little mock build for ya. AMD or Intel? 16 or 32gb of ram? Do you want a m.2 (very fast hard drive) that's 1TB and then a big (2-3TB) HDD ("slow" hard drive) for extra storage or just one big SSD (mid-speed hard drive) that's like 2TB and a small HDD? Do you know what graphics card you want (that's where most of your cost will come from) And do you really want RGB stuff? I know it's very appealing for some people but I've probably saved a collective $200-$250 over the time I've had my PC by upgrading parts with the non-RGB version of the part. You could have 2 32GB RAM kits, both 3200MHz in speed, but the one that's RGB might run you $30-40 more. Sorry if that's a lot all at once, just trying to get a good picture so I can mock up something close to what you may really want.
  19. now this does put a smile on my face though im not around here much anymore, happy for you three kick ass.
  20. omg it's almost like most of this has been said ad nauseum 20 times before seeding isn't sustainable, never has, never will be. stopped reading after that listen to On Sight and find god and come back to me Acts 4:19- "But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to listen to you rather than God"
  21. I have reached a level of ascension that neither of you will ever achieve.
