Additionally your team needs to be comprised of at least 2 member gamers or above in SG so a group of randoms don't just steal the pot of gold. This is an SG tournament after all. How a round robin system works: Essentially you play every other team in the tournament, so you play 7 matches. You gain points by winning, and whichever team has the most points after playing every other team wins. If there is a tie then those teams tied will play each other until a winner is determined.

Ok, I've got some other people (not within SG normally) wanting to play this too, so I'm going to go for round robin with your own teams, not random. I understand this is unfair for those that don't normally play in a team, but if you always play solo on LoL then you may not want to enter then. Get the people you normally play with, SG or not, to become a team with you and join up. I'll edit this post and chatbox with the tournament links to click once I set it up.

This is a round robin system, and actually escaped my mind being so focused on trying to make single elimination work. A round robin 5 v 5 will work with any number of teams but it means you have to play every other team, and it will take a lot longer to finish. People actually will need to be dedicated to play each match; i.e. I'll have to schedule a day and time every week for each team. If you don't show up you'll forfeit or something like that. I think I've waited long enough on this vote, and 5 v 5 summoners rift seems to be what most want. Are people happy with a round robin system? Otherwise it's gona be a 3 v 3.

Yes but since only 24 people have signed up, there's no way a 5 v 5 can work out to have finalists. The best you could do is have 4 teams with 4 subs, 1 for each team. However I am assuming there are going to be more people which will make it not work somewhat. At the end of the day the people are still needed.

Assuming everyone who has voted here is playing, we will still need 10 more to get a working 5 v 5 going. If we go with a 3 v 3 we will need 18 more assuming the same reasoning from before applies. I will keep this poll open until we get at least 40 votes.

I encourage everyone, if 5 v 5 summoner's rift wins or not (but definitely if it does), to invite people not currently visiting the forums or playing SG at all. Your friend on LoL, or in a different community that you talk to on steam, or whatever, can all be additions to this tournament so long as they sign up on the forum and simply join the tournament. Now that the liklihood is that we will be playing teams, the choice is random pick or custom pick. Edit: Also why are there 29 voters but only 24 entrants? Fucking hell man GO SIGN UP.

Just for future reference when making sg scrims - you should probably make days and times that the 2 teams have to play, rather than leaving it to their own devices. If they don't turn up it's there problem for not notifying you earlier as the captain or as a team. At least this way you'll have a fixed end point

Yes. Just keep this in mind when you pick: 1 v 1 = 8 people needed for 3 rounds, 16 for 4, 32 for 5. 3 v 3 = 24 people needed for 3 rounds, 48 for 4. 5 v 5 = 40 people needed for 3 rounds, 80 for 4.

Just gona point out that you 1 v 1 every game you go top or mid, at least for most games early on. People don't often play 2 v 2 and 3 v 3 as well, but it's the same as having 2 people in a lane or playing the twisted treeline. Too many people are saying 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 is fine. A 5 v 5 will need at least 40 players, which will give you 3 rounds to play if you go to the final. Make it 4 rounds and you need 80 players. I doubt we have that many. A 3 v 3 is more feasable. 3 rounds will need 24, 4 being 48. But this is not without problems again. For a start if you don't ever play the twisted treeline you're not gona like the 3 v 3 done there, and a 3 v 3 on summoners rift will be unusual. Not to mention if you want any sort of fairness you're gona need to have teams randomized again otherwise there are gona be players who do not want to be left out of the normal team of players they play with, or have a team full of shits. Either way, the 1 v 1's are usually the best out of 3, and if you get counter picked twice then you were unlucky. The other guy has the same possibility of being counter picked as well. But I'm not sure why this is even a problem as if you're playing solo mid, first to kill or take tower, you should pick your choice based on that...

Ok let me just be serious. Ventrilo has been used for years by SG, it has become second nature to some to just join it, even if they don't actively use it all the time. No amount of upgrades are going to make them change unless forced. I am not going to force anyone to change. Vent serves its purpose just as TS does, just as Mumble does, just as any public voice server would. The sample of people that use and support TS are obviously going to say "I'd actually join if we did this", but then you have as many saying "I'd actually stop joining if we did this." It's not hard to understand really. No change is necessary, and those that don't use vent can stay not using vent. Their loss if they don't to play with the cool kids.
