  1. That plugin is garbage and adding it would provide no legitimate functionality besides a possible scoreboard when the shitty parts of it are disabled. It would make the server one of the power-up servers where everyone is zooming around fast with low gravity 2 hitting eachother. I can see it adding for an event, but in the sense of being permanent I'd actually eat a gun.
  2. On board with that being lowered or removed, don't think there is really any valid reason for it to stay. I think regardless of the post count to set an avatar making a profile on a vBulletin forum compared to most other forum builders is quite dissatisfying. Eventually SG should make the move to XenForo, or IPB. Doing a full rehaul with vBulletin honestly seems like it would be a massive waste of time compared to working with the other software for the same amount of time.
  3. [video=youtube_share;SwkWiJNEB3s] skip like 40 imo if u wanna enjoy the song
  4. I haven't had a chance to really gather my thoughts, and a lot of this is unexplained shit I really didn't even elaborate fully on when speaking to @Dominic and @DML. I can't speak for the managers but I will say that there is only a certain point we should trade flexibility for functionality. Read peoples posts on here about First Order if you want an example of how the little things on our server genuinely mean a lot to people. I'm gonna just respond to what you said @Nate S, but I'm also just gonna put some likely or often scenarios into better context so that others can understand some of it better. I'm going to rant. Let me give you a few examples of why I put a lot of the numbers high besides the fact that I was just trying to get a lot of base starter numbers that are safe and wouldn't contribute any new problems. Lowering CT Lockout can cause problems with CTs being underplayed and when the server is starting up during the start of the day (whether weekend somewhere around 11-12 or weekday 2-5). If someone joins the server and only 2-5 people can play CT because we decide "hey we want it at 10 people or 15 people", that could cause serious issues that lead to people leaving. Undeniably people like SG's server because you can hop on CT pretty quickly and get in the action. @Manny @Cept For Her The Ratio control can cause issues when it isn't high population, for example with 15 players I think on maps like Razor, VIP, Spacejail it would be in realm of being reasonable that a bit over a 6:9 ratio isn't really the end of the world. I wouldn't want to lock a good warden or good CT out of being able to join the team at that point. As the numbers get higher people are coming and going like crazy, the server gets louder, all the CTs and Ts are talking, people need to give orders, people are giving side-comments, people are mic-spamming, screaming freekill yadada.. It becomes way too much of a nightmare and besides that when admins aren't on the ratio at 24 people should NOT be more than 2:3. First Order, if it isn't obvious this isn't something people are going to be happy about for many reasons but it is something I feel is necessary and something both of the servers managers think is important. The amount of absolute shit that occurs in the first 60 seconds is too important and too hectic to expect at times 20 prisoners to keep up with it while they enjoy the clusterfuck of micspam. The freedom from not having ANYTHING even close to a warden system causes way too many issues around from people fighting, to unnecessary freekilling. To make matters worse once the Ts are unmuted 45 seconds in (some servers have them muted almost indefinitely) it's gets much worse. Generally these issues are not as large with less players, so we wouldn't ever lower this unless it was. Peoples favorite part of the SG jailbreak server is that you have a lot of freedom, but that isn't always a good thing when there isn't a single guiding hand to back it up. @Gumline Lastly, none of these ideas are meant to replace admins as much as they're meant to make the server better, which will bring in more mature players, which will make the server better again, which will get us better admins, and make the server much easier to manage for the admins we currently have. If you want a concrete example to sum this all up, there is no reason that every round when the server is almost full an admin should have to be swapping people and spamming a bind, it is the most ridiculous shit and something should be done. I've administrated that server for god knows how long and as much as I love the server to death I can see why people who just want to relax and play do not want to admin it at all. Rather than trying to push the highest quality of shit admin and continue to watch the server grow into a shadow of it's former self through just a playerbase gone completely wrong I would much rather try to get these added to some degree as a step in the right direction. The server teeters on a handful of quality, outspoken, active regulars. Many of these same dedicated people are in this thread posting- who are adamant these problems exist so logic says that if these are not fixed a reasonable, timely, well thought-out manner that those same people are going to follow suit in the same thing that happened to ZE mere months ago.
  5. Just remember everything is basically being theorized and that nothing is really concrete- most of it we don't even know specifically if it would be possible, how long it would take etc..
  6. After adding the guy myself and looking at some of the dates of things this is actually a solid explanation. Thanks for not taking it the wrong way.
  7. @Princess awhile back I noticed your skyscraper map was taking someone elses revamp who clearly had an issue with you decompiling his map for use, far enough to where he got it removed off of Gamebanana among some other comments on his map. I'm sure this guy didn't actually go through any legal bullshit over it- but I'm wondering what you had to say about it. I personally looked to see you credited the guy who made the Garry's Mod map 6 years ago that just short of a posting on Gamebanana asking for his permission you pretty much ghosted the guy from any kind of credits.
  8. I don't want to name anyone, but it's pretty clear that people fight a lot over the first order at the start of the round regardless of how much they play on the server. There is plenty of times where people knowingly conflict someone because they're being a dick, don't like the order, or are trying to do their order first. The amount of fights this starts between people on CT side in my time at SG has been absolutely nuts. This extends so far past the start of the round when for the rest of the map you have two little kids bitching either other out. I personally don't see it as very server changing because it only represents like 10-15% of the servers uptime and it could always be adjusted. I'm going to play the server a bit to see what it could be like tonight and try to get a decent sample size. Generally I wrote 30 seconds because Prisoners get unmuted 15 seconds after, but you're probably right that there is room for it to be reduced.
  9. Think of it as a "Warden-lite" rather than the next step to a Warden system, it's being added to solve the same issue Warden does without going too overboard. I understand why you might be against this due to you, Bubblez, and a few others taking control from the start of the round, but do realize that it is only for the first order when the server fills up past a certain number.
  10. We went for 24 due to as the number gets lower things being a bit more situational, it can always be lowered if we can actually see what is like in practice. Just a starting point. Besides the Ratio thing possibly being wonky to execute I don't see the other stuff being too far out of the realm of possibility. Really up to the TA's to look it over though and see what is possible. I think it might be a good idea to lower the First Order thing to 20, but generally I wouldn't want it completely removed because the problem really starts to come once the server ramps up in players.
  11. What a fantastic thread! Great ideas from @All Ts and @Dominic per usual, that @DML guy sure was fucking useless.
  12. I think you bring up good points that aren't worth talking about here in the highlighted portion simply because this is about PB, and the thing PB needs immediately is some kind of "protection" for when the server gets hectic. I think relying on admins regardless of how we get them in the age of CS:GO is dumb, cause most of the people we get aren't going to be the brightest people eitherway. I will also say that I completely disagree with you about some of it, and that admins are expected to do certain things but the oversight is pretty bad leading to people getting away with things for way too long. The solution to any of this is NOT to let people pay for admin, I think that is an awful idea in SG's current state of bad oversight and hectic vanilla servers with no buffer between the players & server. I'm gonna sit down with @Dominic and @DML and we're gonna try to come up with some things to add to Jailbreak to pitch, and I think there will be a separate thread publicly where that can be fleshed out and scrutinized. I really, really think JB could embrace the way it is in a deathmatchy sense while still balancing itself to be a bit more healthy and encourage more quality players to stick around.
  13. So many of these songs I just spent 20 minutes listening to were so awful, Jesus Christ. I go look in the comments and people are like "Woah Preach" when like 2 lines of the song actually have some kind of direction. I haven't listened to every song, and honestly wouldn't- but I think it's some overrated garbage backed by Kanye's ability to be a moron at convenient times. Feel free to link me some of the good songs, but the most popular ones I was able to listen to really weren't all that good in my opinion.
  14. Make me JB's supreme overlord with and I will design a system that doesn't suck. Tweedle dee @Dominic and Tweedle dum @DML are all talk no action, typical server managers- SAD! Too busy playing Fortnite and jerking their peepee's to 2D girls. In all seriousness our server has been in major need of changes for awhile, when I was CA I tried my hardest to get changes pushed through but a lot of it was in vain due to being almost completely alone. Just takes such a long time for things to happen and always felt like we needed a system catered to our server specifically and managers that were a bit more invested. Feel like unless the server gets a magical surge of admins that it's going to need plugins to regulate some things, but the dilemma is that no plugins out there really match our style of server due to it being pretty unique. Hiring someone or getting a TA to make a few plugins and rework our server could actually launch it past a lot of the other JB servers, if it's done badly it could also plummet it into the ground. There's other small changes as always but you're absolutely right in saying that quality, active administration is the main issue behind it all.
  15. When do I have to sign up by!! Are there enough slots left for me?!!?
  16. Unless you plan on giving us more free shit through giveaways or donating more money please stop using the forums. You're literally making people hate you and causing unnecessary flame. From what you said above it's pretty obvious you didn't take anything I said into account and just wanted to feign forgiveness to everyone. It's good you quit debate so you can learn how to look both ways when you cross the street and maybe you'll have some time to get out of your echo chamber where you think you're a special snowflake. I'm only glad I went to a public school full of booger eaters so I could avoid the prestigious artists such as yourself who are somehow more idiotic. If you aren't trolling please seek some kind of therapy or return to whatever video game console sent you our way. I would add something about feeling bad for your parents but with your attitude I'm guessing mommy makes you think you are a little genius deserving of praise for merely existing and daddy should of shoved you back into mommies vagina while he had the chance.
  17. At this point it's probably in vain to write this but I'm going to try to help you. You need to gain some more self-awareness, respect, and generally work on how you communicate. The way you carry yourself is as if you're a prodigy in the making but the way you speak and the things you say makes everyone see you as completely asinine. If you think people hate you so much that they wouldn't care and would actually be glad you're dead then you really need to take some time to reflect on yourself. I honestly think you using that situation to try to hit the reset button on your reputation as some kind of gaslighting, but assuming that kind of ridiculous train of thought exists- I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Your image around here in my opinion has been earned by your actions, and threads like this do no justice in actually mending any of that. Even in this thread instead of taking responsibility you beat just around the bush of apologizing for how you act. If you want people to see you differently you have to actually identify what about you people do not like and actively change what you think is reasonable. I'm also going to say that if you're thinking about SG (an online gaming community) when you are in actual life threatening danger that you need to find something more worth living for. You should of immediately went to ER rather than go home to do your video-game skin raffle for a bunch of ungrateful dickheads. With all of that being said if it actually needed to be clarified, besides a few of the young people in the community or otherwise edgy-dickheads no one seriously would be glad you're dead. If you want a good starting point- do yourself a giant favor and stop posting shit on the forums that builds the image people have made about you (this thread). I think few people can turn almost getting killed by a car into a thread where people are actually laughing at them, so if that isn't a sign that there is a problem I really don't know what to tell you.
  18. Not trying to shit on the idea of this, but it doesn't give you $1. It gives you 0.95 Sweatcoins which are worth like 4 or 5 cents. Pretty big difference. This actually looks like a scam to make them money off of advertisements while you can't actually spend them on anything or ever cash out for anything close to reasonable value.
  19. As we near the end of this thread just wanted to thank @shoiep for putting it together and editing it, also- Fortnite for the Switch is COMING IN HOT BOYS.
  20. Except currency world-wide is flexible, backed by entire countries, and you can transfer/convert currency pretty freely. If you seriously think Valve did it as some selfless act to fuck gambling and trading over you are out of your mind. The same logic behind saying it was used to better their game and not because it was making them the most money. Valve is literally EA except they instead of having shitty PR they decide to have non-existent PR. As someone who bought TF2 with the orange box it's a shame what they did to the game, and I think other games like it are crossing a line for following suit.
  21. It's actually not reasonable from them, their game is on the decline at a 4-year historic low which I guess will continue, with the most cheaters in any game within the top on Steam or even in general, the thing they decide to key-in on is one of the largest reasons people are attracted to their game and decide to try to make themselves more money. The reason OPskins didn't follow the same model was because competition would just open up and do exactly the same thing, that it was their entire business model to give people something not entirely-scummy and reliable. Even from a business perspective they just pissed off the same idiotic children they've been scamming for years with worthless reskins and made it so transferring skins into real-world money even harder (which will lower the value of the skins themself). Valve is actually ruining their brand and has been for years now, this isn't some calculated move to get a big fuck-ton of money all at once- it's an irrational, very greedy move that they think will benefit them in the long-run. You only have to look at the numbers to see how actually ridiculously stupid of a business decision it is, you have to look at the model itself to realize that they're scumbags preying on kids. The Steam Wallet is not what I was referring to, it was that they're preying on kids who don't understand why something has value and think that because CS:GO is "so big dude" that the value will always be there. There is also the obvious shit like gambling addiction (many of which people on this very forum have gotten into), and the fact that paying 800 for a cool knife is logically dumb- many people just did it because they could make money off of it (which now they really cannot make much).
  22. This isn't how a market works at all though. Steam literally is making it so you can't as easily transfer your items into real-world money, they would rather you have to spend your "money" on Steam. They're willing to take your real-world money, but god forbid you try to trade or get any value from it. Imagine if everything you bought from a store could only be sold back to it, and that it worked like GameStop where you get a watered down amount of money which is only a "credit" to their store. Not to be a dick but your reasoning is so asinine. Yes value is perceptive, but to try and say that they aren't tricking people is so ridiculous.
