We select a map and you guys have to compete to get the fastest time on it. The competition spans throughout the entire month and the players with the Top 3 times in Normal and Low Gravity will be rewarded. This Month's Map! > In order to celebrate the first MTSC since the first official day of Summer, why not play surf_summer? Just make sure to keep one headphone off to listen for the ice cream truck. In addition to awarding those with the fastest 3 times, we will begin selecting a random style every month which you can also compete to acquire the fastest time in. This month we have selected low gravity! This has been changed to Fast Forward due to an immense amount of ramp glitches that are easier to get caught on when attempting low gravity runs. To enter Fast Forward, type !styles in chat, then select fun styles. IF YOU SUBMIT A TIME FOR BOTH STYLES, PLEASE ADD BOTH TIMES TO A SINGLE POST. Rewards ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Place: + 5,000 Credits 2nd Place: + 2,500 Credits 3rd Place: + 1,000 credits IMPORTANT!! If you get a better time and want to submit it again, don't make a new post. Edit your post and fill out the form again. We will look at the submissions at the end of the month so times will be counted correctly. In addition to submitting times in this thread, you can now submit times in the #surf-event-submissions channel in the main SG Discord! If anyone here doesn't have CSS or cannot purchase it, I have a limited time guest pass in my inventory that I can give to anyone interested. It only allows you to play the game for a limited time, but whatever works. Just shoot me a PM if you're interested.

The player cap is what we had planned to try if this method was unsuccessful. I think the general consensus is to switch to that system which I will work on later this evening. The server has been doing a lot better lately so I would say the cap will be met somewhat often, but at least the maps will be there. As for adding maps higher than Tier 3, I have a difficult time finding them, so if anyone can suggest maps or refer me to a site other than gamebanana, I’d be more than happy to add those for you guys.

I hate to see you go, Dom. I know you love this community, but I understand everything comes to an end. I wish you the best in your future endeavors and I know you'll do the best in whatever the future holds. I hope to make half the impact on this community that you did. Thank you!

This is intended. All recently added maps have unlimited prespeed.

6/21/2020 Added 5 new maps

In case you haven’t seen the most recent changelog, we have updated the map cycle on the server to only contain Tiers 1-3. If you would like to leave any feedback regarding this change, please do so in this thread. Thank you.

6/20/2020 In an effort to make the server more appealing to the community, we have decided to disable all maps above Tier 3. Due to this change, we will be adding many maps in the lower tiers to fill in the gaps left behind by the removal of 4, 5 and 6. Please give us your opinion on this change in the Feedback Thread. This is simply a test and can easily be reverted should the feedback be negative. Added 4 new maps

My IQ isn't in the 500s, unfortunately so I do not how to play Chess. C4 from me, as well.

I am a huge fan of Discord. It is a lot more modern, sleek and easier to gain access to. It has the chat sections which allow staff to ping certain roles or do @here in event announcements, general announcements, etc. Staff have access to temp mutes, soft bans and things like that. It also funnels members into the same place. Some may have liked Teamspeak and never joined the Discord or vice versa, but now they all occupy the same area. I was someone who enjoyed Teamspeak and campaigned for it to stick around but now that we've been forced to switch, I think it was a better idea in hindsight.

I mentioned this the other day in Discord. I don't think there is anything we can do about it except urge people to turn off the new text filtering option. Valve implemented a new feature that censors swear words, and they made sure to cover any possible form of racial slur. Though, they may turn it off by default in a future update.
