I'll start by saying this post was made in the worst possible way it could have been. You may have had some legitimate criticisms, but they're all overshadowed by you foaming at the mouth every other sentence. This post is just you shitting on everyone and everything in sight with little to no suggestions to fix anything you're so upset about. I'd like to add that you seem to be so worried about the state of SG and its future, yet it wasn't an hour ago that you admitted to calling people slurs on retakes. You're contributing to a toxic environment on our servers that isn't conducive to a fun atmosphere people would want to be in.
Crazed already touched on this, but removing a server does absolutely nothing. This idea has been repeated time and time again, yet nobody has made a cohesive argument for why we should remove them. TF2 is a passive server; it requires little to no work, there is little to no benefit to removing it. The only reason I can see for removing it is if we needed dedi space, which we don't. Rust is an entirely different situation; it requires weekly wiping, updating, etc. Oxide is prone to break at any fucking moment, and so are the other plethora of mods we had on the server. It just wasn't worth the manpower of keeping that server up when it provided little to no benefit to us.
"Why waste my time" is such an egotistical statement. You obviously cared tremendously about getting this person banned, yet you couldn't bring yourself to make a player complaint on him to fix what seems to be a huge problem in your eyes. We can't see every situation and instance of rule-breaking in this community. Still, it seems you had witnessed enough to form a strong opinion about this person, yet you felt it was beneath you to make a player complaint yourself. You point out that this person potentially drove a player away from the community. Yet, as I pointed out above, it seems you also contribute to a toxic environment on our servers. Stop grandstanding and acting as you though you care so much about the state and atmosphere of our servers when you actively hurt it.
The people who are currently staff absolutely deserved their position. You've been non-staff for so long you have no clue what these people do or how the staff ranks work in general. Some people move up the ranks quickly because they're incredibly passionate and dedicated to showing what they can offer. You act like we have a system of nepotism where you have to "Play X with X to get promoted lol" or dickride a manager to move up the ranks; that's not the case. The person you're so heavily shitting on in the OP and replies is a fantastic staff member who busted his ass to get where he is today. I'm not sure what or who you're referring to when you talk about ZE. Still, it has been given a ton of attention over the past year by extremely talented and experienced people and, unfortunately, hasn't worked out.
As Black Rain pointed out, we call each other out on our biases. There have been many instances (recently, in fact) where someone admits their bias or is called out on it and puts it aside to complete whatever task is at hand, especially at the IA level.
You act as if "Playing the servers" is the only standard to apply when measuring activity and involvement in the community. The BDs work with every level of staff to plan and execute beneficial ideas for the community. They are at most if not all CA meetings, constantly involved with CA/SM/IA discussions, and do tremendous work behind the scenes. This BD team is possibly the most active one we've had in years, and most of the time, they're available to handle anything that comes up. You're speaking from an incredibly narrow perspective; you have absolutely no clue what they do, so stop talking out of your ass.
Greggy and Rain have both been on retakes a decent amount in the last month or so, so I don't get what you're getting at. The BD team consists of 5 people, excluding Gator and Caution, and 2 of those have played the servers pretty recently AND have been reasonably active in discord. What more do you want?
Deflection? We've all touched on pretty much every single point that JMC brought up, despite his post being riddled with inaccuracies and assumptions and despite him providing no coherent solutions to any problem he's brought up. If you have any solutions (that aren't just banning annoying people and acting like that'll solve the bigger problem), please let us hear them.
This post could've been done without the vitriolic statements and personal attacks and probably would have resulted in a better overall discussion of the actual problems that we're facing today.
