  1. I personally think that this event would be cool, but unless there was a LOT of people wanting to participate, I don't think it would be a good thing for our server. As Watchman said in the previous suggestion, forced deathgames deviate from how the Jailbreak server is played almost all of the time. Our server revolves around the deathmatch aspect of Jailbreak, and having an event that forces people to do deathgames rather than be able to rebel would probably cause many people to leave. I personally think that if there was an event like this, it wouldn't have too much participation. I could be wrong, but I don't really think many people would like the idea of constantly doing deathgames for an event.
  2. @Tagwrack seriously let himself get collated...
  3. Thanks everyone who attended the event, it was super fun and I'm looking forward to the next one already! btw Scrolls sucks at this game so much...
  4. Bump, event starts in 10 minutes!
  5. Congratulations to all, well deserved!
  6. Bump, event is tomorrow @ 6PM EST!
  7. Removal Request

As Paralyzed said, please use the form to fill out a map removal request.
  8. The Secret Hitler event is tomorrow and it has red, white, and blue in it. It could be a 5th of July Happy America Secret Hitler Event if you want it to be.
  9. CTs don't have to honor pardons. If you're KOS, you're KOS. It doesn't matter how many promises they make not to kill you, or that they'll let you re-LR, at the end of the day you are KOS. Adding this as a rule doesn't really make sense, and I'll explain a scenario that could result from it. First, if there are multiple CTs alive and there's one KOS T alive. If one of the CTs said that the T could have a pardon, that would mean no other CT would be allowed to kill that T. It doesn't make sense to have this, since the T has aready done something to make them KOS, whether that be killing a CT, winning an LR, or using a secret. After it's all said and done, you're KOS and it's up to the CTs to decide whether or not to let you live or to kill you.
  10. I didn't see this thread until now, but I'll try to give my thoughts on this. Obviously if a T cheats their LR it makes them automatically KOS. This can be done by using a secret, picking up a primary, damaging a different CT, or damaging their LR partner in a way outside of the LR (e.g. throwing a nade during a S4S, or shooting at them with a primary). With CTs cheating LRs, it's a bit different but it's basically admin discretion. I'll give a couple of examples of when cheating an LR is allowed (or at least not punishable). If the CT is in an LR and a rebelling T starts shooting at them, I would not punish them for cheating the LR and killing the rebelling T, as it is their duty and they're trying to stay alive in that moment. The same applies to if a CT sees another prisoner who won their LR, and kills them. I would not punish them for doing that, as they are performing a duty that is required of their role. However, if a CT is exploiting LRs to gain an unfair advantage, then that is definitely punishable. One example of this would be a CT that is accepting and cheating LRs simply to get a health refill. If it happens in the moment where a CT is low and accepts an LR, just to cheat it and try to kill rebellers it's not that big of a deal. However, if the CT is actively working with a T to get infinite health refills, that would be punishable. This also is the same for if a CT cheats an LR for no reason. An example of this would be cheating an LR because they accidentally accepted it; while it is cheating, it isn't really that big of a deal because they'll probably just go on to LR again. However, if they continually are accepting and cheating LRs because they don't like the LR weapon or the gamemode, that's punishable. When you accept an LR, you're agreeing to the rules of an LR and accepting one just to cheat it because you "don't like it" warrants punishment. If these are single-instance occasions and happen ever-so-often, again it's not too big of a deal. I'd say that I wouldn't punish a CT for cheating an LR unless they have clear motive behind it and are doing it to gain an unfair advantage or troll. I'm not going to slay a CT for cheating an LR, but if the T they chated on goes to kill them because they cheated and the CT refuses to let that happen, I'll slay them for that. It's very situational, and I'd say on this topic it's mostly just admin discretion on what is punishable and what isn't.
  11. How does the points system encourage freekilling? You get points for killing a CT as a T, not killing a T as a CT. I'm in favor of removing the points system, but I can definitely understand why some people wouldn't want to remove it. The points sytem is the reason why our servers are deathmatch-style. Prisoners are driven more to rebel not because it fits the gamemode, but because they get rewarded for doing so. If we removed the points system, people would be much more inclined to actually play Jailbreak, and get into the roleplay aspect of the game. However, the T points system is what makes our server unique. In a lot of other servers, their Jailbreak servers are heavily centered around role-play and less around killing people. Personally, the deathmatch style gameplay is what made me first choose SG to play on, rather than another server. Removing T points would cause backlash, and arhough I believe it's the best solution, I can see why others wouldn't think so. Removing T points removes the uniqueness of our server. I am, however, a HUGE advocate for gangs. I loved the concept of gangs when they first came out, and I was a member of the number one gang for awhile, until the plugin broke and I was kicked out of my gang somehow. If the gang plugin could be revamped and advertised, I think it would allow for a lot more fun gameplay. This might sound like I'm contradicting myself, because gang placements are dictated through T points, but having gangs plays more into the role-play aspect of the gamemode, since gangs allow Ts to cooperate and work with eachother, rather than trying to feag out on their own. Having gangs brings a sense of unity into the server, as Ts are competing with eachother just as they are competing with the CTs. Having a team-based points system would be a lot more fun in my opinion.
  12. After reading through the responses in this thread and thinking about it some more I'd like to give a new opinion on this idea. While I do think that it would be cool to have a feature like this, it just seems like a lot of unnecessary work to implement. While yes sometimes it sucks to spray down a guard only to have your kill and point stolen by someone else, I don't think it's helpful to have this. Our server is already very death-match style, and adding this would just incentivize more people to play T side, because it offers them a new way to gain points. If I'm being honest, I'd rather just abolish the points system entirely, but that's a discussion for some other time, and some other thread. In its simplest form: you get rewarded for killing a CT. You may have done the brunt of the work in getting that CT low, but the kill is what matters. Tagging a CT for 104HP doesn't matter when they escape and heal back up to full. Killing them and removing them from the round does, and Ts are rewarded with a point. I don't see a need to add half-points or quarter-points, because you're just taking a system that's already swayed towards the Ts and giving it more juice. One other point is that this assist thing would interfere with the ability to heal. If a T does 99 damage to a CT and that CT goes and heals, then gets tagged multiple times after that, until finally sying after being hit by like five different Ts, who gets the points? It just seems as though we're overcomplicating things. While having this feature would probably improve your score a little bit, it's a very minor detail and in the grand scheme of things, it's really not that useful at all. It's not going to help the average Jailbreak player boost their score up to the Top 10, and no one really cares about their T score other than the people who grind T ranks, and those people are also going to benefitting from this feature as well. It just seems as though we're nitpicking at the smallest of things and the Technical Team is also swamped with other things they have to do. The T ranks system doesn't really need to be touched, because at the end of the day you either got the kill or you didn't.
  13. That makes a lot more sense. I guess that could work, because it would allow ghosts to play minigames with eachother and show eachother secrets. What I said before about the Technical Team being overloaded still remains, so I don't know if this is necessarily a priority, but I do think that this version of the idea has much more merit than the one that I thought you were bringing up. This would be a cool feature to have, definitely.
  14. LR

While I do agree that this could possibly make life a bit easier for the Ts, I just don't think it's necessary. Like I said in solar's post, while these are things that could be implemented, the Technical Team is so buried in work that this wouldn't be solved for awhile, and it's not something that we need to have in the server. Adding to the list of problems, it's possible that with this plugin, people could accidentally accept LRs without reading through all of the set rules, and could end up breaking one of the T's rules without them knowing. This would cause arguments and insults to be thrown around, and it's just a lot of a hassle to find out who broke what rule in the LR. It's much easier to just have the rules said and clarified before the LR is started, so that the CT knows exactly what they are accepting.
  15. As TheZZL stated, use the form above to create a map suggestion/removal thread. The form can be found here.

  19. thanks to @thuxys for the banner! Secret Hitler Event! Secret Hitler is a social deduction game where the liberals try to pass blue policies and find out who the fascists and Hitler are, and the fascists try to remain hidden and work with eachother to deceive the rest of the players, passing red policies along the way. The liberals win by enacting 5 blue policies or killing Hitler, while the fascists win by enacting 6 red policies or electing Hitler as chancellor once 3 red policies have been enacted. To read the full rules of Secret Hitler, visit this website. If you want a more brief overview of the rules, watch the video I have linked below. Where can I join? We will be playing Secret Hitler on this website. You will need to sign up for an account, and there will be a couple of games with private links which we will play in. Be sure to join the Steam-Gamers Discord, because that's where the links will be given out and where everybody will be trying to figure out who the fascists are! When will this be? Sunday July 5th @ 6PM EST We will be hosting this event through our Discord in the events channel. Click the Discord icon below to join our Discord! While you're here, you might as well join our steam group! [video=youtube_share;89peJkBrIaw]
  20. Here is a simple definition of being frozen: when you are frozen, you are not moving around. You may look around (unless specified to look a certain place by the guards), but you may not move in any direction, crouch/uncrouch, or jump. If the order is to take a step out of your cell and freeze, you should not crouched unless you are crouched in your cell already when the order is given. If you're standing inside your cell, you take a step out and then crouch, you're not being frozen. It would be an extremely petty thing to shoot you for, but you are disobeying the order. However, I don't really think that this justifies a rule change. I think the idea of being frozen itself is pretty clear, and I don't think that we should make crouching/uncrouching not being frozen. Edit: You can use this quote to justify why crouching and uncrouching is not considered being frozen. Being frozen on our servers means don't touch any movement keys, basically take your hands off the keyboard in a sense. If the order is to be frozen, don't use your keyboard; don't move at all, don't jump, and don't crouch. You can use your mouse, whether that is to knife or look around.
  21. Vacation end

Welcome back Nekomancer, hope to see you on Jailbreak soon!
  22. Even if you do misclick, by cheating the LR you are making it so that the T who you accepted the LR from has the right to kill you. If you accept an LR by accident, and you're trying to hunt down rebelling Ts it usually isnmt that big of a deal, and usually the T who LRed you is patient enough to wait for you to finish. However, this does mean that if they run towards you and try to knife you you're not allowed to kill them, because you cheated the LR.
  23. I agree with all the points that have been made. Jailbreak is becoming stale. We have 25+ maps, with only maybe 5-10 that are touched on a weekly, or even monthly basis. There are so many more amazing maps that could be a great fit for our servers, if people would take the time to learn them. However, it's just a cycle of old and new razor, VIP, Summer Jail, and a couple of others before the cycle repeats. Having a longer map cooldown would allow new maps to be explored. Maps that haven't been touched in awhile will be resurfaced, and it's very possible that with a longer cooldown, a new favorite map might just appear. Many people are talking about how repetitive and boring Jailbreak has become, and I think that this change would definitely be one for the better.
  24. As others have said, it's not a KOS order because you're not forcing the Ts to go through the teleporter, that's their choice. They could go and do their cell games, restarting once they near the end. However, if the CTs gave an order that was "All Ts finish your cell games by 4:00" or something along the lines of that, it would be a different story. I've never heard that order though. and it's definitely not common enough to warrant a rule change.
  25. Thanks for hosting the event @Wreck!
