1. I've never used any android phone, because all of the ones that I've tested have keyboards that just aren't responsive to my touch. It's literally just me that can't use them or some weird reason. So I stick to Apple.
2. I was going to comment on this earlier, but got sidetracked by something else. I'm just going to say this: it does matter if the cosmetic you get gives you an advantage in-game or not, if you go through a secret to get it you're KOS. If the cosmetic is obtainable without using a secret, then it is not KOS. I can't really think of any KOS cosmetic secrets as of now, but an example of a non-KOS cosmetic would be the giant penis in Lego Jail. Since it is a decoy that can be picked up without using a secret, it's not KOS.
3. milk is good as an accompaniment to almost all baked goods, as well as cookies, oreos, and cinnamon oatmeal. But the best milk by far is milk from Chad's mom.
4. I know you said you wanted Bacon's opinion on this, but I don't care and I'm going to comment anyways. As a T, saying "I want the first two shots" deviates from the entire meaning and purpose of the "shot" "for" "shot" aspect. You're only supposed to take one shot at a time. Asking for the first shot is fine, but asking for the second shot as well is unreasonable in my opinion. I never ask for the first two shots when I'm a T, and as a CT if a T asks for the first two shots I decline the LR. I don't think a rule needs to be added for this, because it simply falls under "unreasonable rules and requests".
5. let's go nugget
6. I stand with TheZZL on this one. There was a Jailbreak staff meeting last night, and a lot of topics and ideas were brought up for discussion. Most of us seem to agree that although many may think that the "CTs are bad" and "we need better CTs", Dominic said it best: it's simply just a phase that will pass. Eventually we will go back to having fine ratios. Our entire Jailbreak system is focused more in death match style rather than role play, which is why maps like Razor are so popular among the community and probably one of the reasons why many people have chosen to stick with our server /'d implementing ideas that would increase the role play aspect of the devfer might not bode too well with the players. I will say this, however: the higher ups and the Jailbreak managers have been working very hard to implement new ideas, suggestions, and plugins into the server to better the players' overall experience. There were many ideas suggested, and a few will be in place in the near future. We are working to deincentivize playing the T side, and trying to push more people towards playing CT, and there are many ideas floating around that topic as well. Edit: I will however respond to some of your points. 1. Raising the bar for entry onto CT side. I actually was the one who brought this suggestion up, and it was swiftly rejected. While you may think that making a point requirement would make "better CTs", it is entirely possible that people can just blindly get kills on T side but have absolutely no idea what they're doing. An example that was given yesterday was bubblez. Bubblez is a great CT and makes the server fun, but not good at getting T points. Why should we make someone who would be a good CT grind out T points? I'm also saying, however, that we have no idea if a new player is good at T or at CT. Giving them 30 minutes of playtime to play T, and then try out CT is good enough to let them decide whether or not they want to play T side or CT side. 2. Doubling or tripling credits. I don't really see a problem with a credit multiplier, except for the fact that it doesn't really incentivize regulars to play CT side. Sure, newer players who want to get more credits to buy some cool stuff from the store might hop on CT and start playing, but most Jailbreak regulars have no use for credits anymore, having played long enough that they've bought everything that their hearts desire. 3. Point-based CT side. I completely agree with you here, there's almost no good way to set up a point-based CT system, because it would definitely increased free kills, power-hungry and kill-hungry CTs, there would be was free days given, more of a tight ship run, and it would overall not make the server as fun anymore. The best we have right now are the time ranks, which as you said really don't do that much. 4. Perks for "better" CTs. I also agree with what you're saying here, and I can see where you're coming from. People can vote on the "best" CT and that CT would receive possible small perks, and encourage other CTs to be better. However, as you pointed out, there is a massive flaw in this and that is simply exploitation. There are so many ways for that to be exploited, including friends voting for friends, regulars voting for regulars in an attempt to get a free day. One common scenario I could see is "hey Benzene, I'll vote you best CT if you give me a free day next round" and this kind of devalues the entire system. Overall, I really like the ideas you're putting out there, but a lot of them have some flaws and issues that are hard to overcome. Like I said, the Jailbreak managers and higher ups are discussing new changes and plugins that may be implemented in the near future, so keep your eye out for changelogs.
7. I agree with urpalerp here - an event doesn't necessarily have to boost the server population indefinitely, but it will allow people who normally don't play on MiniGames to get on and see how the server is, and possibly if they like it continue to play on it. Personally, I would love an event like this and would definitely be down to host an event such as this. I'll bring this to the EM's and see what they think about it.
8. lil' late but I appreciate it, thanks!
9. @The Don Bacon is correct, I have contacted the developer of the bot, and he is working to fix the issue as we speak. Sit tight, there should be an update soon.
10. everyone will receive perks.
11. Bump, event starting in 30 minutes!
12. Thank you for the clarification Kieran; with that knowledge, I can say this: the catwalk that leads to the scout secret is not KOS, because you can use to to gain access to parts of the map that are not KOS, but the ladder is KOS, because its only purpose it to access the secret, therefore making it KOS.
13. @TheZZL @kuri @Case. @R3Flex thank you for testing this bug out and reporting it. I have spoken to the developer of the bot and he's working right now to fix it, it should be fixed soon. I will notify higher ups if the bot needs to be re-invited to the server.
14. It will basically just be whatever mr infinity ward chooses to give us. Whether that's increased speed, buffed health, auto bhop, low gravity, or whatever, he will choose each round.
15. I went ahead and tested this on my own private server (thanks to @PotatoAlienOf13 for helping me out), and there still is this issue. However, it seems as though when someone leaves and re-joins, you still are the commander of the channel. When I tried this, PotatoAlien left and re-joined the channel and was able to type .voice claim and become channel owner. However, when I typed .voice claim after that, it said Inwas the owner. So I think it glitches out and made two owners. Refer to my screenshot below. Those two owners did have administrative powers with the channel, and are able to kick / reject the other owner. I have sent a support ticket to the bot server and am hoping to get a response. Will update this thread when I receive one.
16. The KOSability of certain parts of the map are based off of their purpose. RemixedPixel brought up a good point - the ladder in soccer in VIPintheMix is KOS because the only reason one would use that ladder would be to get to a secret, whether that be the MP9 secret or the AWP secret. I don't actually remember where that scout is on Undertale, but if the only purpose of the catwalk is to get the scout, then yes it is KOS. However, if the catwalk leads to other places, then it is not KOS and only a warning shot if restricted. If there is an invisible ladder, or a ladder that leads directly to the scout secret, that is definitrly KOS.
17. thanks to @thuxys for the banner! JB Power-Up Event! Have you ever wanted to play Jailbreak at double or triple speed? Have you ever wanted to bunnyhop like phoon across the map? Have you ever wanted to play on low gravity, or with an increased health boost? Well now you can, with the Jailbreak Power-Up Event! Use your new powers as a guard to maintain order in the prison and catch rebelling prisoners, and utilize your perks as a prisoner to rebel, kill the guards, and cause massive chaos throughout the server! Huge thanks to @Infinityward for helping me run the event! Where can I join? jb.steam-gamers.net:27015 When will this be? Saturday, June 20th @ 6PM EST While you're here, you might as well join our steam group!
18. that's because you said a no no word. Should I post the uncensored version, or will that get me demoted?
19. So apparently @Dominic read this thread, saw that I had put time into making a video that would allow him to implement the bot onto the server seamlessly, decided to ignore it and try to set up the bot himself, and failed miserably. Well played sir, well played.
20. Now since Teamspeak is officially shut down for SG, I was pretty upset because one of the main reasons that I used to hop on teamspeak was to chill in private channels and talk to people. I know that a lot of people feel this way too, and are upset that they can no longer do this. I can also see why some people think it's better not to have private channels, to allow for more interaction between new users and regulars, but I also think that having the ability to create said private channels was a big plus and contributed a lot to the people who were active on Teamspeak. I have a solution that I have discussed with a couple of other CAs, but I'd just like to get the community's input on a suggestion like this. My suggestion is to add the bot VoiceMaster, which would allow people to create temporary channels where they can limit who gets in, and limit the amount of people in it. You can also lock the channel, which would allow the members of the channel that are already in it to remain there, but it would not allow any other users to join. I think this could have its benefits as well on the official discord, because it would mean that people could join private channels jsut as they would in teamspeak and still be on the official SG discord, which would increase activity. I have linked the bot below and a YouTube video explaining how it works. https://top.gg/bot/472911936951156740
21. Since Teamspeak is gone now, I wanted to make a quick thread about how much I'm gonna miss it, and my personal opinion of the situation. Teamspeak is where I first really started to meet everyone who I really know in this community. I could just hop on anytime I wanted and join a voice channel and relax, have some fun with other members of this community. Teamspeak perks was also one of the main reasons why I bought VIP, to have the ability to have client icons, and to make and use private channels. Now that it's gone, I definitely feel sad that there won't be anymore memories created there. However, I do have some hope for Discord. Obviously there has to be a reason why the higher-ups chose to shut it down, and I'm hoping that they can make the necessary changes and adaptations to make Discord friendlier for those who used to use Teamspeak. I have high hopes and I am looking forward to what they can bring to the table. But mostly, I just want to pay my respects to Teamspeak. f in the chat.
22. I personally think it would be cool to have this as an addition to having T points. Like 0 points is Prisoner, and like 1000 points could be murderer or something like that. It would offer a cool perk for those who have ground out lots of points. Obviously you can check the leaderboards with the /top command, but I think it would be cool to be able to flex your title just as someone playing CT could have the lieutenant rank. This isn't really necessary, but it would be a nice little addition for those who play more T side and have gotten more points.
23. Wow, back to back promotions! Congratulations to all, well-deserved! We all know that @Greggy G only wanted AM to reject Chad's application.
24. I agree with urpalerp completely. I myself am a big fan of KZ servers, and I know other members of the community are as well. Having this as a MGT could serve multiple purposes as well; along with being a fun server to come play on, it could also serve as a way to gauge interest of the community's opinion of a KZ server as a whole. Bya plowing people to have a KZ server to play on, it gives them a taste of what it is like and it would allow them to know whether they would play on this regularly, or whether its more of just a fun thing to do once a month, in which case it's good to have as a MGT.
