  1. Defuse will be closed down to make room for our Escape Server move. You can look forward to a grand reopening in about a week or so under a new IP address on a new Dedicated Server. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you.

  3. I am setting our goal at $600.00 for this month. We are going to be cancelling one of our dedicated servers as we no longer need it and will simply move the one public server that runs on that dedicated to one of the other boxes. We are off to great start with a $110.01 already donated from over donations from last month. Thank you to everyone who has donated and everyone who will donate. We have a month to meet our goal so check often on the donations page to make sure we are keeping progress.

  6. Please cancel your subscription.....I will count your payment when received but if you have not canceled by the time it recharged I will have to cancel it myself. I no longer want to spend time researching what Paypal account belong to who. If you use the donation button the form will tell me who you are and make my life easier.

Mainly to prevent good admin from leaving us because they cant afford it anymore and to save me and Garfield time by not having to monitor subscription every day and constantly having to remove and setup people. I think this will promote growth and allow us to keep admins longer and maybe for life. Financially, this could cost us but we are leaving the size of the community solely up to the community. It will allow people who really can't afford subscriptions to donate when they can afford it. I also think people didn't donate who would have if they didn't have to pay monthly. Only time will tell but I can assure you this will increase our player counts and grow the community from a (total number of players stand point).

  9. NO one pays for admin. Some of you are confusing this. If someone donates $20+ they will receive supporter powers as a thank you for donating. If ex-admins wish to return to admin WITHOUT going through the free apprentice program they must donate $20.00 to be reinstated immediately. That is only for old admins who left on good terms. If they do not want to pay then they can apply for the apprentice program like everyone else which is free.
  10. 60 days means they can apply for apprenticeship but does not mean they will make it to full admin or even get accepted. If they get accepted into the apprentice program but are retards they will be stuck their and never get full admin. This system should actually be harder to get full admin then the old system and requires more of a wait period.
  11. From this day forth we will no longer be charging admins and supporters monthly! We will be switching over to a donations only community. This means that admin is free and is something that must be earned. All current admin and supporters may cancel their monthly subscription effective immediately (you are hereby grandfathered into our new system). Each month we will have a goal set and if that goal is met we will be able to keep the community running as it is today. If the goal is not met we will simply downsize and readjust the goal for future months. This change will mean a change in other areas as well. I will do my best to explain all of these changes but feel free to ask questions following this post. Getting Admin and the new Apprentice Program In order to apply for the admin you must be a forum member for (60) days. Once you have submitted your application it will be reviewed by our Community Advisers. They will have full say over who gets accepted into the "Admin Apprentice Program." The Community Advisers (CA's) will vote on who gets accepted into the program. Not all applicants will be accepted on their first try. Once accepted into the program these admin will be give limited admin powers and will be monitored by the CA's. Once a week the CA group will take a vote on who gets promoted from the program and given full admin access. Once you have full admin you have it for life, unless you break the admin rules and receive (3) strikes. If an applicant during his apprenticeship shows sings of being unfit for admin the CA's can deny the application and remove limited admin. Change in supporter Supporter will no longer be purchased it will simple be given as a "thank you" for supporting the community. Any member, regardless of tenure, who donates $20.00 or more will automatically be given support perks including skins and reserved slots. Goal for December 15th Our monthly goal will be $800.00 a month and the date at which the goal needs to be met is December 15th. You can track the progress of our goal on our donation page. You will notice I have changed the donation page and added a few new pages as well. Take a look and remember to thank those that donate and help to support your community.

Our first round of promotions goes to Beth, Paul & Mystique, they will become the new Event Coordinators, all 3 have big knowledge of how the community works and what the community needs to grow. They will do a fantastic job filling servers, scheduling new competitions, organizing events, and managing tournaments. All three of them will not only be responsible for the joint role of EC but will remain Administrative Officers. This will be our first time having admins assuming two roles. I feel as a group they will do a better job then any one person but I do not want to take them away from the AO group as they are all valuable members of that group. Their EC duties will include: * Manage/Promote events on our servers via forums and calendar. * Announcing/Monitoring monthly tournaments. * Handle match disputes within the said tournaments. * Make sure servers are ready for all special events. * Schedule events to fill servers in need via the steam community. I am proud to announce this promotion, this individual has showed his interest in AO many times, and has been a key part of this community. Please join me in welcoming Spartan as an Administrative Officer. Spartan has been a loyal member of this community for over 1 year, and I'm sure will contribute his maturity and hard-working personality in to this community The duties that Spartan will be performing for us include: * Verify that servers are operational * Reboot Dead/Lagged servers * Manage Player complaints/bans * Assist in training new admins * Handle admin disputes * Monitor the Ventrilo server * Grant access rights to Ventrilo * Search for new maps for all servers * Upload maps to server and fast downloads site * Edit map lists and rotations * Issue player perma bans via request from SA's * Teach admins how to demo/ban/screenshot proof Our other promotions consist of Community Advisers. We had a public announcement to help us decide who too promote. We looked at everyone's votes and decided the following will be promoted to Community Adviser. Congrats to Xeno, Ms.Blargh, and :The Good Tyrant: , all 3 choices have been a pleasure to have within the community and have shown they loyalty time and time again. The duties that the Community Advisers perform for us include: * Advise the higher staff in important decision * Keep servers clean from rule breakers * Issue warnings/kicks/bans * Manage the maps played * Record demos proof for perm bans * Request perm bans via the forum * Post in game server problems on forum * Help in any way to make the servers fun Our final promotions will be to Legends. This rank is a highly respected rank and not just anyone can earn this. It was very hard to choose but your votes have helped us greatly. Without further a duo please join me in welcoming Andre1028, Jewpiter & Itch to the legends group. All three have earned the respect of their peers.   15. All you have to do to cancel your subscription is login to paypal and click on the last payment sent. Then click the S-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX number at the top of the page then click cancel. If you cannot figure it out let me know.

  16. First of all, I am proud to announce this first promotion as we have been waiting a long time to find a replacement to fill Bor3d's shoes. Please join me in welcoming Allan as our new Web Administrator. Allan has over 2 years of experience with web design and coding. He has the skills needed to help this community improve our website and forums. Allan currently owns an online company that sells webhosting and custom websites. Some of the duties that Allan will be performing for us include but are not limited to the following: Manage the website, forums, and bansites Keep all web services up to date and functional Continuously find new ways to improve our web site design Improve our user experience by finding new mods/plugins for our forums Managing all site backups and restores Our second promotion goes to GarfieldH who will now be joining the Board of Directors. Garfield has done a great job as our Account Administrator and is ready for the challenge of running the community. He knows how things are done around here better then most and I feel will do a great job as a BD. Garfield will continue to assist me with Accounts but will now assist the Board in making important decisions that keep this place running smooth. Congrats Garfield! You have earned it. We have the new dedicated now so give me a day or two to get some things organized and we can start a vote for what new server to open. I will update the donations tab on website soon.   23. With the addition of our scrim league and our growth within Reg CSS I would like to expand the community some more by opening another Dedicated. As of right now our scrim servers are running on the same box as 5 of our reg servers which is taking a toll on that server and causing the scrims to not perform as well as needed. If we can raise enough funds I would like to open at least (2) new public servers for the community and move our scrim servers to a better performing box and maybe even run 1000FPS. Below is a detailed list of what we can do with this new box. Open a 30-40 slot Deathmatch server probably crackhouse/iceword or something. Open a new server of the communities choosing. We can have a poll for what to open. Host an official Community scrim server that would be use for our Cevo team and for us to challenge teams on FinalBattleground. Move our current scrim servers to this box and lighten the load from our other server. Have room to open a server or two for any new games the come out or keep it for growth. We had some extra donations this month from the Chat program so if we can raise ~aprox another 200 bucks I would feel comfortable purchasing this new dedicated server. Goal set at $200.00.   24. I am proud to announce some promotions within the higher ranks of SteamGamers. First off, we are promoting Jaffa, Tinkerbell and KillerMidget to join the Administrative Officers. Killer, as many of you many know, did an excellent job as a Administrative Officer in the past and stepped down last time due to his busy schedule in life but is willing and ready to help this community again. Jaffa and Tinkerbell have both proven their loyalty and I think will do a great job as a part of the AO team. Welcome to the team guys. With this addition I have a strong feeling we will improve our response time to issues greatly and will continue to be the leading community when it comes to customer support. Duties will include Verify that servers are operational Reboot Dead/Lagged servers Manage Player complaints/bans Assist in training new admins Handle admin disputes Monitor the Ventrilo server Grant access rights to Ventrilo Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to server and fast downloads site Edit map lists and rotations Issue player perma bans via request from SA's Teach admins how to demo/ban/screenshot proof Jager and LVG will now be filling the vacancy made when TCP left the Technical Administor position. As many of you know it will take two people to fill TCP's shoes. Jager has been a long time member and shown his knowledge to me and the BD's over time, helping with tweaking servers and even assisting with some larger projects. LVG, who was once an AO, helped us with server configs and has a good working knowledge of our game servers and how we run them. I know both of you will do a great job. Duties will include Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site) Research mods, scripts and plugin to improve our servers Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance Discover and fix exploits against our servers/sites Assist in data backup operations for the communities data Please join me in congratulating those above for the great jobs they do and for promoting SteamGamers in a positive way.
