  1. your mom will be hanging around TeamSpeak for a while to chat if anyone is up for it
  2. I fail to understand the logic in your post. If they are unable to understand what a 'reasonable order' is, then follow the admin protocol and explain what they are doing wrong. A reasonable order is pretty straight-forward: If a CT says 'Everyone go to pool' at the beginning of the round and one guy runs around in circles saying 'I don't know where that is', well fuck him. Obviously follow the rest of the team. It's reasonable to not have to explain what a pool is or where it is located in that situation. If a CT says 'African Freeday', that is something that will obviously cause confusion in more than one person. Without any type of explanation, this can be considered 'unreasonable', considering enough people have no fucking clue what that is. Exercise common sense and good judgement. I don't really know what else to tell you; I share the same thoughts with the other admins on this thread expressing confusion as to how you're being ignored for excessive periods of time. I guess call in another admin or something if you don't feel comfortable handling a situation.
  3. "CT's must give clear and reasonable orders."
  4. not really, he owns (or is in a tight partnership) with the hosting company. He isn't paying shit to host it.
  5. We don't have any access, which is exactly why we moved in the first place. Ryan is a douchebag who refused to give us any access to do anything. If someone got locked out of their account, we got hacked, etc., we wouldn't be able to do anything about it. 'Board of Director' was nothing but a red name with the ability to do jack shit on the forums. I got the fuck away from Ryan and now own everything associated with Steam-Gamers.
  6. Hi. "Advice" is semantics - the point being use caution listening to the words that were typed on the specific portion of the post I quoted.
  7. That sounds pretty much exactly like delaying a round. We, as admins, don't need to be douchebags and expect that the second a CT is by himself he should run out into the open...but sitting in an area that no one else can really get to if other people aren't rebelling is delaying. Now - if there are T's rebelling and actively shooting at him, one way or not, he's not delaying by camping up there until the threat is gone or he is dead. But if he's sitting in there while the only T left alive is knifing a soccer ball...then yeah, that's delaying. I encourage admins to tread extremely lightly if you choose to follow this advice. For the most part, we will not tolerate admins making up rules to serve their own agenda. "Better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission" does not apply in this situation at all.
  8. Realistically speaking - Haggard, Spartan, and I were really the only owners that pushed this place forward for a long period of time. Paul did a great job but he didn't stick around as president for too long. Garfield, Amit, and Ryan (I guess, if you include him - though 99.9% of you guys have never had contact with him) all took this place in the wrong direction and are the reason this community came close to dying. Haggard had a lot of personal situations that he was dealing with that compromised SOME decisions he made here; Spartan was inactive for awhile due to a lack of interest after so long; I'm an asshole and don't usually care about people's feelings or safe spaces, as long as it's all kept relatively professional. Take your pick - we all have our strengths and we all have our setbacks. Once you get to the level of AO, it becomes less about playing in servers and more about politics / public relations. BD is even moreso like this, so on and so forth up the chain. It's extremely rare to actually be able to sit down and play a game. On a normal week (things have been quiet the past week, thankfully), it's pretty accurate to say I spend anywhere from 5 to 20 hours on AO / BD meetings alone. Sometimes it's less, and during hectic weeks it's more. That's not including checking up on the forums, posting on threads that require my attention, approving donations, monitoring CA meetings, reviewing admin applications, reviewing admin complaints, etc. I won't speak directly for other BD's, but I know Spiked and myself spend about 70-80% doing something community related and the remainder (if that) playing on the servers or a random game with other community members. I also, on average, have about 15 - 25 people message me on steam daily with some sort of SG issue / comment / question. I'm not complaining; I love this place. I have even been offered about $6,000 for it. But I'd never give it up, and I have done everything I can to help steer it in the right direction. But judging who the best owner is / was is a pretty hard question for most people to answer as most people don't understand everything that goes on behind the curtain. My BD's truly work a thankless job, and it takes a high level of dedication to stick around and do it correctly. A president is absolutely nothing without a good staff supporting him.
  9. Don't we all? #thefeels
  10. U.S. Army

I didn't even realize it until right now...but, ironically enough, that was 6 years ago exactly, down to about the hour, of when I made this post.
  11. My son =)

I am incredibly sorry to hear about the condition. If you need anything from us here, please don't hesitate to ask. Stay strong brother.
  12. U.S. Army

Your friend was lying to you or his recruiter was lying to him.
  13. U.S. Army

Ugh this is the biggest crock of bullshit I think I've ever seen. I had a fucking drug waiver - they will NOT take away jobs from you based upon you saying you smoked weed in high school or something. Don't believe this asinine statement for a second.
  14. U.S. Army

I did 5 years active duty in the Marine Corps (still on the inactive reserve portion of my contract). Not to brag or anything, but with my pending disability claims, job experience, and the money i get paid to go to school, I will be pocketing roughly 11 grand a month (over half of which is tax-free income) - all courtesy of the United States Marine Corps. Xeno and I ran this community for awhile while he was here stateside and I was in Afghanistan. Sometimes I'd manage to get WiFi access if we hit a main base, and we'd be in the middle of a rushed steam conversation that usually ended up with me having to leave because we were taking some sort of fire. @mNote and I were actually on the same base at the same time I think at one point, but conflicting schedules stopped us from being able to meet up. Best decision I ever made in my entire life was joining the military - second best was getting out ASAP. While being a medic may be something you deem as admirable, do a job that actually gains you some sort of sought-after skill. Set yourself up for a future.Tons of people come on the forums saying they're going to join whatever branch, but few actually do. I would strongly advise against making a decision that is going to affect the rest of your life based upon the thought process of a few weeks. I knew since I was 12 that I wanted to be a Marine. I graduated high school early just so I could become a Marine that much sooner. I didn't even turn 18 until I was already 6 months in. I was deployed in a combat zone before I was even legally allowed to drink. My point being you should probably take longer to think about your decision instead of rendering one after a few weeks. Now, if you want to talk about branches, anyone who tells you not to enlist in a specific one should eat a fat cock. At the end of the day, what do you want to be called? A soldier, an airman, a sailor, a Marine? For me, it was an easy choice. It's not hating on any other branch, but I just would never wanted to be called anything other than a Marine. If your conviction is that strong for the Army, then take it. When I told my recruiter 'The Navy and the Army said they would give me a 20k+ signing bonus, a guaranteed job, etc, to join them...what can you offer me?' he told me 'I'll offer you the chance to become a Marine.' Call it brainwashed, too motivated, plain stupidity, or anything else, but I was sold at that point...I just wanted the title, fuck the bonuses. I'd do it all over again, a scared shitless 17 year old kid standing on the yellow footprints, but I'd never spend a day doing it longer than I had to. A redeployment to the Middle-East is about the only thing that would make me remotely reconsider a reenlistment, but that's about it. SwS6OkgUXKE
  15. I'm sure their delay was to make sure they weren't releasing the same game as the first one with a slightly altered story line. Ubisoft is soooooooooo good about making sure each 'new' game is totally unique.
  16. Please send Spiked or myself a PM with any prize ideas you may have.
  17. As promised, we have some more promotions! Before we get to that though, we'd like to acknowledge Vick for his hard work and dedication to the community over the years. That darned 'real life' thing has gotten in the way, and he has to spend his focus on that. He shall remain as an AO for the next few days while he helps out the AO's who are taking over for him. After that, he will be placed as a Legend. Thanks for all your hard work and we'd love to have you back among us one day as a higher up. We haven't done any Legend promotions in awhile, and we feel it's about time! Mercy, Eldest, Third, and Psyche will be joining the Legends! All of these guys are old school players that have been around for years upon years, and we feel that it's long overdue. Their new duty is: Show off with their cool purple font! To the role of Administrative Officer, we are promoting Paralyzed! He has been an AO in the past, and has shown a lot of hard work and dedication since his return. His new duties will include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Manage player bans/appeals Assist in training new admins Handle admin complaints Handle disputes among fellow admins Monitor the Teamspeak 3 server Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3 Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Issue permanent bans to players via request from SA's Handle reported posts on the forum And finally, to the rank of Technical Administrator, we have two players who have been around for awhile and have helped us out on the back-end of things in the past. We fully trust them and are confident we will benefit by having them among our other TA's! Please welcome Labarr and Spiritwind! Their new duties will include: Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site) Research/manage mods, scripts, and plugins to improve our servers Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance Discover and fix exploits against our servers/site Assist in data backup operations for the community's data Assist AO's when problems arise or others are on vacation Please join me in giving all of these people a big round of applause! We are also changing the minimum requirements for admin applications. We are lowering it to 100 posts & 30 days on the forums. Stay tuned for the upcoming raffle, as well! Spiked and I have been working closely together trying to get a prize-pool finalized. He will be handling the skins while I will be handling the games we are giving away. So far, I have purchased a few of the Star Wars humble bundles, which include a ton of games (winners of that will receive every game included in the bundle, we aren't giving away those games individually). On top of that, I will be purchasing a few copies of 7 Days to Die since we just got a server for it! I have some other ideas for games, such as Witcher 3, Overwatch, etc., but none of those are finalized yet. If you have any suggestions for game ideas you would want to see in the raffle, send me a message! Thanks everyone, have a good evening.
  18. As well as skins, we also plan on doing a lot of game giveaways. I just bought a few of the star wars humble bundles, and plan on buying some other stuff as well. I want to do a few copies of 7 days to die (since we just got the server) and maybe some newer games. I haven't really seen any other games on steam that stuck out, other than 'For Honor' and maybe some classics like 'Witcher 3' or something. If you guys have suggestions, please send me a PM or just respond here tagging me. We plan on going big, so help us get the best prizes you guys would want. Thanks
  19. Hello everyone, If you haven't been able to tell, I have cut my leave of absence a bit early. I planned on taking a month or two off, but unfortunately with the amount of work needed to be done around here, that just isn't feasible. So for now, looks like a week will do. Kudos to SpikedRocker for wearing my shoes for the week and seeing how 'fun' it is. Moving on, we've got some promotions we'd like to get going! To Community Advisor, we are promoting Moo Moo Viking & Mr. Trololo! Moo Moo has been here an exceptionally long time, and we are more than eager to give him the opportunity to prove what he can do at the CA rank. Mr. Trololo has also expressed interest and has shown his activity and dedication to be enough to get noticed by us in a positive way. Their new duties include: Advise the higher staff on important decisions Handling player complaints and issuing bans Moderation of the forum Give awards to members on request Send group invitations to members on request Keep servers clean from rule breakers Issue warnings/kicks/bans Screenshot/demo proof for permanent bans Request permanent bans via on the forum Post in-game server problems on the forum Help in any way to make the servers fun To the rank of Administrative Officer, we are promoting Delirium and Leon Mordecai! Both have shown hard work and dedication over months of time, and we have nothing but the highest confidence these two will do great things as higher ups. Their new duties include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Manage player bans/appeals Assist in training new admins Handle admin complaints Handle disputes among fellow admins Monitor the Teamspeak 3 server Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3 Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Issue permanent bans to players via request from SA's Handle reported posts on the forum At this point, I'd like to take the time to recognize a BD who has been around for awhile and has done a considerable amount of work here. Revenga is, unfortunately, having to focus more on real life. As much as we want to keep him as a BD, we understand that real life always comes first. Thankfully, Revenga will be sticking around as a Technical Administrator. We are glad to be keeping him around the community, and he deserves our utmost appreciation and recognition for the amount of dedication and hard work he has put into this place. He started out as a BD in a very hard time for SG, and he was part of the crew that helped turn this place around. His duties remain the same, for the most part, but specifically: Fix technical issues that arise day to day (servers/site) Research/manage mods, scripts, and plugins to improve our servers Develop solutions to improve our servers/mods performance Discover and fix exploits against our servers/site Assist in data backup operations for the community's data Assist AO's when problems arise or others are on vacation Now, if my math is correct, it looks like we have two slots to fill for the Board of Directors. We have spent great time and discussion on this subject, and we have decided to promote Prez! He has been around the community forever, has spent ample time as a higher up, and has our confidence that he will do an amazing job. His new duties include: Support/build/fix servers Approve admin applications Set up new Admin and Subscriber access Issue admin warnings/punishments Keep the community updated of any changes Final say in all admin disputes Plan for growth (website/servers) Support forum/plugins/logos Support Teamspeak 3 channels/admins Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3 Review and implement community suggestions Promote/demote server admins Manage public relations/marketing/events Be a role model to all admins/setting by example Collect donations, manage subscriptions, and pay the bills Manage the website, forums, and bansite Manage AO staffing and responsibilities ... anything else that needs to be done Please welcome all of these people to their new rank, and please give Revenga your thanks for everything he has done here; it has truly not gone unnoticed. There are still more promotions to come, so stick around. oh yeah i guess black rain is a bd too now
  20. Effective immediately, I will be taking some time away from SG. @SpikedRocker is in charge of the place until I feel like I've had enough time away. Listen to him and keep this place running smoothly. See you later, everyone.
  21. Hey guys, I didn't want to take away from Xeno's thread, so I wanted to hold off on promotions for a few days. Once again, the community owes a huge debt of gratitude towards Xeno & all the work he has done here. I can't begin to describe the hours upon hours upon hours that he has spent with myself, the other BD's, other members of the community, or just by himself - working towards bettering the community. His impact here was enormous, and it will be hard filling the gap. Moving forward, we have some promotions inbound. We have more possibly coming (pending a few meetings), but these are the ones, at this point, we are extremely confident about. To the rank of Administrative Officer, we are promoting an old school player - someone who has already been an AO in the past. Please welcome Prez back among the higherups! His duties include: Verify that servers are operational Reboot dead/lagged servers Manage player bans/appeals Assist in training new admins Handle admin complaints Handle disputes among fellow admins Monitor the Teamspeak 3 server Grant access rights to Teamspeak 3 Search for new maps for all servers Upload maps to the servers and fast downloads site Edit map lists & rotations Issue permanent bans to players via request from SA's Handle reported posts on the forum Now, onto the role of Vice President. This person has been in this community for about a decade and has helped me endless amounts of time. He may be extremely, extremely old...but hopefully that won't stop him from being able to perform his basic duties. Please welcome SpikedRocker to his new rank! His duties will remain the same, but he will be acting on my behalf in the event of my absence. Please give these two a round of applause, and please standby for some more possible promotions.
  22. To try and put into words the amount of work you did here would always be an understatement. I have no doubt in my mind this community would not be what it is today without your constant leadership, dedication, and motivation. We both know the amount of work that goes on behind the curtains to make this place operate, and I will never forget when we were running this place by ourselves for a little while trying to figure out what the fuck to do. Thankfully, you were able to steer the ship in the right direction. You are hands down one of the best BD's this place has ever had, and there is always a spot open for you should you decide to return. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
  23. SpikedRocker is taking over
  24. ^^ the game would have to be stopped regardless because only one forced game is allowed.
