  1. Saved my POS biological father when I was three. Dude was ODing in the bathroom (prob heroin) and I somehow heard him calling for help and ran across the street to my grandmothers house and called 911 and hung up but they came anyways. Got on the frontpage of the local papers and a ride on the firetruck.
  2. It's completely possible to give lr parameters within 10-15 seconds... That's a shitty argument there bud. Like I said though, jailbreak managers will take a look at this thread and see what they can do.
  3. How is it our fault people don't follow the server rules for lrs. Just saying there's already a built in way to deal with the issue he has. Maybe the jailbreak managers will look at disabling fall damage in the gun toss lr in the future but from my point of view it's unnecessary and actually removes some elements of gameplay.
  4. The whole point of guntoss off summer jail roof is for the first person who goes to die. It's literally a classic newbie troll.
  5. Or you could not agree to the rules before you accept and have them toss from another spot. There doesn't need to be pointless rules or plugin modifications when you can solve the issue in-game currently.
  6. Do you know how time consuming and tedious this would be for admins to police?
  7. Although it's been mentioned in other threads: the jailbreak team is working on a solution to this issue. Please stay patient while they figure out the best way to implement a CT ranking system.
  8. Cool. I appreciate the dedication from our player base to maintain some sense of order and pass on some of the traditions and knowledge that go along with playing on our server, however and as I'm sure you know by now, the way the regular population of jailbreak tends to escalate situations more often than not when it comes to addressing suspected rule breaking and how it comes down to a screaming match between two twelve year olds far to often. At some point some of the people who want to see changes really need to take a step back and see how their behavior fuels the toxicity just as much as the person they're blaming. I'm not saying every regular is a problem. I'm not even saying that the people I've seen contribute to the toxicity at times are a problem. I'm just saying that if you can convince people on the server that their problem with another member or whatever conflict is occurring is not that big of a deal; you will typically see a more relaxed environment. Getting freekilled a few times a map is not that big of a deal and I really don't understand why players freak out on the servers over something so small. I'm not saying that repeat offenders should not be punished, but at the end of the day, it is really not something worth getting upset over. I really don't know if increasing a timer is going to fix a problem that is far bigger than just a few free killers. Slapping on more restrictions will do nothing other than discourage potential players from sticking around if they're semi competent.
  9. I think the main question here is: Is raising the time required to play before joining CT prohibitive durning non peak hours? As in, will we run across situations where no one can join CT due to an increased play time requirement when the server isn't as populated? What are other possible downsides to raising this requirement? What a lot of people don't understand when they come crying to the forums on issues like this and a few other jailbreak hot topics is that a change is a change at the end of the day. While you may receive your intended effect there are numerous side effects that may or may not be apparent. If I were one of the people complaining about jailbreaks situation I would first think to myself what I as an individual can do about the situation, whether that be a change in attitude, how I react to situations on the server, and what can I do better to resolve this situation without having to have Staff involved. Granted, in some situations such as people coming on with the intentions to break the rules staff will likely have to get involved but how would raising a timer stop people in that situation?
  10. Whichever ones death and ejivis has that makes them so smart
  11. Ability to check. I also believe its tied to an admin flag but I could be talking out of my ass on this issue as they've done a lot of work on the server since I managed it.
  12. I'm pretty sure this is already functional on the server I just don't know the command. @Fuze @Dominic
  13. I think it could be great for the community going forward but I can see where the hesitation to implement this idea would come from.
  14. Nice logic there bud, it's almost like you're asking the majority to change to accommodate the 0.01%. I'm sorry you're hard of hearing but at the same time it's not like the entire community should bend over backwards to serve you. I hope that you can figure out a way to continue to play/enjoy the servers though!
  15. Use your phone as a speech to text tool man.
  16. Doesn't matter if you gain anything out of using them. The fact that you have to 'break' your cell to use them should be enough to qualify them as secrets or vents.
  17. This idea has been considered multiple times. In all likelihood without someone extremely dedicated to the server and a bit of luck a casual server will never really do well enough over an extended period of time to keep it around as a core steam-gamers server. Speaking from experience a SG casual server is really hard to keep alive.
  18. Teamspeak
  19. As you can see there's some inaccurate information within the text, but the real reason I'm making this thread is to suggest making the Appeal Ban button more noticeable by selecting a bigger font size and possibly staying with the theme by making the text red. Another option could be displaying an image as the link and literally making it a big red button.
  20. While this may seem like a viable solution at first glance I do not think this is the way to go about it. Any event with prizes would be automatically doubled which means a higher cost to run those events leading to less events overall, in addition to that, competitive events would likely also spark unnecessary drama due to having two of them ran.
  21. Good afternoon, I would like to propose a rule of thumb for event scheduling going forward. As most of you know, many of us have obligations during the week that may require us to be somewhere other than at home on the computer at 6 PM EST. While I am aware that the communitys servers are located in New York, many of us live in locations that are not within the EST timezones. For example, an event hosted at 6 PM EST on a Friday will translate to 3 PM Pacific where most people will still be at school, work, ECT... Therefore, I would like to remind members of the events team that you will likely have a better turnout to your event if you schedule events either A) on the weekend or B) for an acceptable time for people in most parts of the county to reasonably be able to participate. While I appreciate the effort all members of the events team have shown, I think that adjusting the way we schedule events may lead to more successful events.
  22. I hope this site is still around in 15-20 years so some of you with serious responses can reflect on what was said here. Anti-vax parents should be rounded up and quarantined along with their children.
  23. How to use a blinker or zipper merge.
  24. We flirted with something like this in the past. Not sure if I prefer this aesthetic over the glob of channels but I can see how some people would like it.
