Well, for my gaming headset I am using a logitech g330 which is only $50 I think at bestbuy and it is a gaming headset ; I like it so I would recommend it from other experiences with headset :]

I used gimp before and truthfully it wasn't that great even with tutorials and stuff. Since when I made a sig sized it the correct pixels and turned out smaller than it actually was. Then I moved onto a better application "Photoshop" which revolutionized my sigs but if you can not afford it ask one of our art "pros" to make you one or explain to you how that sig was made.
