Brian, I'm truly saddened that this day has finally come. I know that we've been talking about this for a while, but to see the purple finally hit your name it really hits home. We've known each other for close to a full decade - I remember first meeting you on the surf dm server under the name Buttery Bread. We'd play together for hours on surf_10x and others with maya and regulars of SG. Now, 9 years later, we've developed a friendship and bond that to me is second to none in this community. We've been through a shit ton together as admins, higher ups and most recently as BDs. You've been a true friend and also a mentor, showing me the way as I climbed my way back up the ranks - I truly wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for your help and guidance. As a token of this community's appreciation and respect for all that you've done, I'm extremely happy to award you with the Presidential Award. Your contributions will be remembered in our ranks for years to come. We're losing an immense part of our team today, but I know that with all of the work, effort and time you've put into this place we'll be alright. Thank you for everything.

Just want to clarify for everyone - there are definitely others who currently deserve this, for things they did in the past. There will be more awardings for those people so don't worry about that!

Hi everyone, We are introducing a new award tonight - the Presidential Award. This designation is awarded, by either the current President or Vice President, to those who are deserving of special commendation for something they've done at Steam-Gamers to further the community. It's meant to recognize those that have done a lot for us (in different capacities), and for those that have left a mark on our community's history and operations. This award is a special token of gratification that won't be given out often. The first recipient of this award is Liam Brown. @Liam Brown has put, in the time that he has been TA and TM, a ridiculous amount of time into our community. He has worked on countless technical projects, built new plugins and systems from the ground up, and has been an invaluable resource for our BDs and higher ups when needed. His work with us in these past few years will be seen by generations of staff to come - and for that, I personally feel that he is deserving of this special recognition. Thank you for all that you have done so far Liam! Please help me in congratulating Liam on all of his hard work!

I absolutely encourage you to keep grabbing results, and am glad you are taking the initiative on this. I'll send you a message offline with some further thoughts.

I appreciate the effort put into this. However, overall this thread was just to gather some early and preliminary thoughts. We could easily just do it without any community involvement, but we wanted to at least get some thoughts from our forum regulars who we can count on to get a lot of quick and honest opinions. Also not to say that we wouldn't have polled the servers... it's just very early on. Once things get to a further point we may look to do more of these server polls like you've started with.
