1. SG Faceit Hub

I know everyone is being kind and courteous and just liking the thread....but I gotta say it: fuck yeah This is awesome, really cool to hear you guys are doing this!
2. Your CPU is looking mighty toasty friend. should check that out.
3. Glad you clarified this
4. Fixing server tickrates

@Wawa @tides the scrim server still has min/max of 80000 rate. Maybe people won't hack on there if we fix that? Nah jk, people will still be dumb xd
5. This is so incredibly important, I really hope everyone actually cares and is looking at this in regards to current and future changes. The retaining of players in the next few months can make or break a server, and ultimately determine what SG population and status looks like over the summer when you have both the retained players + all the kids who now have a bunch of free time.
6. New years resolution: Drink less redbull....I'm off to a bad start.
7. First Order

Right...thanks, I know about player complaints and how to call an admin. Was trying to express that it seems like a bigger issue that might benefit from a rule adjustment regarding freedays. Like for example : only having free day in with the 'days plugin' and limiting its usage there, having a rule in place that says you can only issue freedays that way. Standing purely behind the rule of conflicting orders and just the concept of being able to call an admin at any time with the current low amount of admins will hinder gameplay until we get a lot more active admins. Once the holidays are over and people have less free time to be in there you're looking at a lot of potential situations where there might not be an admin available. Establishing a more well defined rule or building it into the plugin allows you to teach the playerbase the rules over time, making them less likely to abuse. Often times people will break the rules less purely because they know even if an admin isnt on that they could get recorded and banned that way. In JBs current state with how the rules + players are even if I was recording to complain it probably wouldn't end up being solid proof, plus it ends up being different kids everytime. Having a secondary rule or layer of rules regarding this would prove much more effective at building a mentality among the playerbase that can be carried on long term.
8. First Order

Just to clarify, while there is a lot of mic clutter from Ts, what was being talked about here is Ts switching to CT and spamming free days. They either want to cause chaos or they think the CTs are bad...not handling it right, who knows really. Giving text orders wont fix that, someone on mic will just yell a different order (freeday) and children will follow. Also it's not really against the rules...currently, outside of contradicting orders which gets pretty convoluted when you have 15 CTs each one calling a different order at the same time.
9. First Order

I've seen most everything described here happen in JB as recently as a few days ago, not sure exactly what the solution would be but I do agree the First Order plugin does shit all to help. I like your thoughts on making rules about what the first order should be, which clicks together well with CTs having to give orders in a reasonable amount of time. I think that if we have been able to train people into having to give orders in a timely manor, we could do the same with having to give..a reasonable order? or set of orders? Its been talked about here and on the other thread, but Freedays are absolutely out of control. What you described here about Ts switching to CT and then aggressively screaming is exactly what I've experienced every time I've tried to play JB. Now you can come in and tell me that like maybe it was just a bad time or no admins were on, which I disagree with. I've been playing JB for near 10 years, and for many of those years I ran the fucking show on CT, didn't need a plugin to claim warden. I remember back to days where 3 people (myself included) could handle an entire server of (roughly 18-20) Ts with near no problems. Now no matter how much I raise my voice or try and take command of a really shitty situation or set of orders...its just muffled by screaming children on both sides. I know times have changed, but perhaps something needs to get tweaked around so we can get back closer to what was an incredibly fun server, not just one that maintained a good rank.
10. You literally dismissed everything he had to say, which you could have done without the wall of text. Can we get some constructive talk in here or start a new thread? At this point everyone is coming in and quoting the OP, then telling him hes wrong because they feel the need to to.... All Ts clearly has a lot of ideas, if only he was an AT and could be directly involved with it :/ But really that's like a lot of big picture stuff which is hopefully being worked on in the background and a lot of it isn't particularly discussion worthy. Can we maybe pick out 1 or 2 key issues and start a real discussion on that? I see : rounds being stale....nothing happening? which stems from : - Shit CTs - Lack of [quality] orders - Freeday Spam - Ts not being given opportunity to play properly? Possible fixes are: -Plugin(s) mentioned by All Ts -[X Factor] Anything else?
11. I look forward to it
12. Would an extra 2 minutes really fix that though ? What's occurring to cause a draw like that? I would assume shit CTs or shit orders, causing Ts to be stuck somewhere and/or CTs to be camping. I've seen some cases of the staleness you've been talking about, particularly on maps where it's hard to rebel. Even when Ts do rebel or even get a solid win, its usually because some idiot CT walks back first into a crowd...which isnt really how it's supposed to go.
13. Whats being talked about in most of the original post in terms of changes is heavily related to forced deathgames which should never be something implemented on the server. It hasn't been that way in all the years it existed, and I believe a good player base has been built around it. There is a good point made that a lot of the time Ts are stuck just getting bounced from one area to another, which I can understand being a problem. The other issue I've seen, which was also mentioned here, is the excessive and near constant freedays being called. I'd say 60-75% of the rounds at least one CT is spamming freeday on mic and causing absolute chaos. Its hard enough to wrangle Ts to do what you want when they're screaming, not to mention when CTs are basically against you as well. This seems like an issue that was easier to control when the server had a lower player cap, where now with up to 50 players you get 15 CTs all contradicting each other. Most of the rules typed out here are already listed and implemented in the servers, so it just feels like a big copy/paste from somewhere else. The plugins are interesting, but probably not necessary. All the deathgames listed are....deathgames obviously. no good. A lot of the issue(s) presented or that could be presented for PB are the fact that there are some shit CTs, a lot of them really. On top of that, there aren't many good CTs out there that can actually take command, and when they do try someone starts freeday blasting as I mentioned earlier. It may not seem like an issue because the server is 'doing really well' right now, but chaos issues like the ones I've seen cause high player turnover and will hinder the server's ability to gain loyal players. When you're talking about a game mode like JB, there is an abundance of younger children who tend to favor that game mode, but what you'll have trouble getting is people who can keep them in line just enough to make for an enjoyable experience. Some slight rule tweaks or a small addon might help take care of the CTs inability to agree on orders or not just spam freedays all the time, but its hard to say. Was trying to come up with something concrete in terms of a fix for that, but then this big massive post got made . Also just for good measure, SG is 2nd most popular [uS] JB server currently, and I'd imagine generally holds top 5. Big difference between us and the top 5 sever listed there? Maps They have a few maps we don't, and they've removed a few maps from rotation that we keep on. They also have taken several popular maps and made custom versions from what I can tell. Mostly food for thought at this point.
14. Fixing server tickrates

Also this is a thing in MG and TTT : (Cl_cmdrate 102 and Cl_updaterate 102) Rates did change as I mentioned above, but the cmdrate and updaterate remained the same, and they were what determine if a server is '128 tick'. The 102 settings are from CSS and were maybe copy pasted from old files? 102 was to determine 100 tick servers back the if anyone remembers, but having 102 tick now just makes for some weird lag and hits not connecting when you think they should. Could also be the thing causing the knifing issue that was mentioned on MG (I did look though and MG has the proper rate settings allowing you to cap at 786432) PB has 64 tick settings, which I assume is correct since it isn't listed as a 128 tick server or whatever, but if that is the intention then someone should look at that too. @Wawa @Gator @Im Sad @Karma
15. Bring back BuildRP
16. So looking at a lot of the servers, most of them (including PB,TTT, and Scrim...didn't check ZE) have wonky rate settings that are super outdated. Back in 2016 steam/CSGO changed network settings to allow for 'higher game traffic to client' : Ignore what it says about 'high surge rate', its literally irrelevant unless you have the shittiest of internet, plus you can just leave it at the default 196608 and never have a problem. PB and TTT are both still at 128000 as max rate allowed (based on pre-2016 '128k') and scrim is at 80k? The Deathmatch server has the proper settings for anyone who wants to look, allows you to have the preset default (196608 ) all the way up to the max (786432). Source : https://www.vsgaming.co.za/discover/how-set-your-new-csgo-rates MM servers use the same rate settings, and it gives a noticeable difference compare to the SG servers. I don't know nor can I find anything saying this would cause any sort of significant extra load on the servers, and I believe it is almost all based around how much information the individual 'client' is receiving. I also joined multiple 1v1 servers and a few other misc ones and they all had the same settings, so at least for like the scrim server this should be fixed. Forgive me if I'm missing something, been a while since I looked at this side of server stuff.
17. To be fair when you get as many admins together as gumline listed, I'm sure there was a steady flow of admin commands being used. While that's not a "toxic environment" and in no way admin abuse, I can understand the annoyance. Perhaps that is his problem...but by the same virtue if there were no admins, rules definitely wouldn't be enforced. Simple answer is get some big-dick admins so there is no question of who is bigger. ^_^
18. Can we get a poll up to vote on this suggestion? ;) But really....All Ts and Dominic are right that there have been bad decisions made based on vote, especially when an AO...or I guess managers now weren't as involved as they should be with the server population. That being said, Keiran has a good point that if someone is a poor manager they'll make poor decisions even if this was removed. I'd tend to agree with that line of reasoning a lot more, because if someone doesn't know how to track population based on maps or track overall popular vs non-popular maps, then without a forum vote they simply wouldn't have anything to go on.
19. Bumping a thread 8 hours after you make it, am I seeing that right? Anyways, two rules relevant to this conversation (and maybe more I'm not including) : '• CTs are allowed to camp but cannot delay the round.' '• CTs must be actively enforcing orders or assisting their team. (subject to admin discretion)' My first response to seeing a thread like this is : Be a better T, or a better team of Ts...but I understand this isn't always easy. I think on some maps its easier than others, and it also depends on how the CTs acted before it ended up being one CT alive. If the CTs did a good job at clearing out the guns, and the CT is now camping armory or some other dumb corner of the map...it becomes increasingly hard to be the one hunting them down. That being said, obviously like a lot of the stuff you said is technically against the 2nd rule, which is that they must be actively enforcing orders, but you would need an admin there to properly enforce that. Unfortunately in that situation if an admin isn't around you're gonna have a lot of trouble dealing with that, and also filing a complaint would be kind of silly as its a minor infraction at best. I could write a lot more on the matter, but I'm curious what other people think.
20. You really think anyone is gonna take the time to go through this...wonderful...off topic thread?
