it is possible, as jazzyy said, but a pain in teh ass it is. also i don't think a normal dvd player would play MKV's or somesort, only avi's that i know of. alos no PS3 can't do this, it can only read avi's, i think. but as i said, it would be helpful if we know what type they are. but there is a program called AllToAvi, this program allows you to convert the mkv to avi and add the option to hardcode the subtitles.

what filetype are they now? most of the time they're MKV if they are, just open it with KMPlayer and you can add them
