well euhm, i'm really outta ideas, maybe this last 1 will help, if you open up Steam, go to to Settings (it should be at the bottom of the steam window) then go to Voice and see if the microphone volume is all the way to the right if it is, then it might be your mic or just game-related

maybe try it and see if it works, it might work

Go to Start>Control Panel. Then click hardware and sound. From there, click manage audio devices in the sound. Go to the recording tab. Click your mic, hit properties, go to levels, and raise the bar. maybe this will help, if it doesn't buy another mic
