Okay, I don't understand how this thread has evolved into pure "give this guy a chance" posts. No one is saying anything bad about Amit at all. How could we when all we know about him is vague plans to 'improve' this community? The one who is subject to our, or at least my, hate is Garfield. He betrayed this community to get a new MacBook and to be honest he doesn't seem like he's been giving a shit about this at all - it's all about buying and reselling valuable URLs for him. Fuck him. If you guys see it as an improvement to sell this site for several thousands Dollars, cash money straight into Garfields pocket, to a person who admits he doesn't play any Steam games, to have him make this a large site with all sorts of random people discussing games no one in the current userbase cares about, then fine, that's the majority rule. Maybe there won't be any changes to SG, then fine, no worries. But in my eyes, once this site is sold to Amit, he might listen to us, but he is the one spending serious cash on the site and he's the one to have the final say on every singe decision - from closing non-profitable servers to ban swearing. That's a lot of power to handle a random buyer promising gold and green fields.

I was wondering. With all this going on in SG since last night, SG getting sold to unknown company/people, leaking of secret stuff, old members venting their thoughts, radical changes and what not. The major concern with people, it seems, is that Amit and his crew aren't known at all within SG and some people have been questioning why 'we' couldn't buy SG instead of Amit. This would, of course, require quite the amount of funds - so let's see what we could bring up in theory. So, if you were asked to buy a part of SG - how much would you give and be able to give under the circumstances below: - Garfield would leave the President spot as he is the one selling the community. - No immediate promotions/demotions besides that. - BDs would run the show, in case a PO is needed - an election will be held. Why do you need to throw in the names of your forums all the time. We get it already and if you're already starting to do business and backlink your shit to improve your google pagerank, it's in pretty poor taste..

Alright, this made me pissed. This rant isn't aimed at the new guys, since you haven’t done anything wrong - yet! I've been with SG in quite some time now, on and off in the last couple of years. I've witnessed a lot of decisions which I did not agree with, but this is the most retarded thing we've been through so far - at least that's how it looks to me after reading the reasons behind the sale. First of all, Garfield you've been quite a passive leader of this community and you haven’t really changed major things since Haggard abandoned the ship. There are a few minor tweaks here and there, but mostly you seem to just handle the practical stuff with payments. That's not a bad thing, since this community is crowd sourced in the very basic meaning of the word. Paul, Astrum, Spiked when he was here and a lot of the higher ups busted their asses for LOTS of hours for this community to make it work. The admins are doing a decent job at keeping the servers clean and overall the community is quite strong in my opinion. It's a bit scattered and our discussions can get messy at times, but I still find this a chill place to hang out and do CSS business. That's why I don’t understand how you can possibly consider SG your own, to the degree where YOU alone can decide to sell it, Garfield. Yes, you bought it from Haggard a while ago, but as you stated yourself, he planned on giving it away for free anyways, and I refuse to believe you paid more than a few quid for it. No matter what you paid, we have all chipped in when there was a lack of funds here and therefore it would be the only fair thing to keep SG in the hands of the community - if we then decided no one wanted the responsibility of running the site, we could discuss a possible sale and look at the choices we had. It honestly looks to me like you got bored of your position and wanted to make a quick buck on your way out. Steamgamers.com seems to be a somewhat valuable url and saying that you lost money on this trade is absolute bullshit. No matter how you try to make this look, this community will no longer have having fun as the higher goal. Instead it will be about making money with ads, sponsored links or by whatever means will be considered the most effective. That's against everything this community ever stood for. Hopefully things will be done in a sensible manner, but I couldn't really care less if you do it quickly or if you do it over a span of several months. If the end result is less member-friendly and less fun than the current SG, you're the one to blame, Garfield. I will stick around and hope for the best, but I will without doubt start to look for other non-commercial communities and maybe just use steam to coordinate my gaming and keep in touch with my gaming buddies. It's just a shame to see SG moving in this direction since I actually cared for this community.

Also, I have a 1500 dollar deposit which I of course want to be sure to get when I move out this summer, so that's something I need to clear as well.

I asked him several times what his problem was with the deal we made, but he refused to give me an answer and istead said shit like "What deal, Emil?". I also fail to see how telling him to do his own dishes is offending him, and especially justifying him running away from a half year old deal.
