AFAIK there are several plugins for this, but it all seems like a lot of effort for something that won't really fix the issue we are having with admins being unwilling to get on the servers when they are needed. I don't see how having a bot post on the forums instead of the average person hopping on chatbox and saying "we need an admin" is going to encourage more admins to get on the servers when they are called. I do like the cross-server reporting idea that was brought up, however. Mapper's idea could also work if a decent amount of SA's express interest in setting up a Justice League of sorts among the ranks. The plugin that I was looking at not only supports a Steam bot that automatically messages admins when someone uses it, but also a desktop client that does the same. If enough admins are willing to opt into this program, I'll definitely look into it.

That's sort of the point of the poll I mentioned earlier. It won't do exactly what you're suggesting, but it will help us see which of the suggested servers have the greatest demand.

Please keep this in mind, guys. We aren't looking for ideas that "would be cool" if they were put up, but servers that you actually feel you would really enjoy. It shouldn't feel like a chore to populate these servers if they aren't running full out of the gate once we get them up. Modded servers are doing pretty well, but standard gamemodes are still played more. Promod and RotU seem to be the most popular. This could work if we get a server or two up as soon as we can after its released. IIRC our Arma II DayZ servers did really well until that metric fuckton of hackers showed up and it became too much to manage.

I can vouch for how fun this is (it's essentially a more-involved ZRiot for CoD4), but we're going to need more support for it. If we can get it populated on a regular basis by our existing community, a steady new population will present itself since people often sort by player count.

As most of you would probably agree, we are in dire need of new servers and fresh content to help this community expand into new territory. Once the dead servers are cleared out, new ones will be needed to take their place. The staff here is working hard to deliver on this vision, but we can't do it without your help. Many of you have seen new server additions come and go, and understand that creating new servers is a trial-and-error process, with success and a steady population always an uncertainty. The rate at which we were trying out new servers was getting us nowhere. We have decided to take a different approach this time, and are turning to the community for help. We want to know what changes you guys would like to see in our server line-up. After all, the servers are being provided for the community, and we believe you guys are the best authority on what new servers you want to play on and what content you would like to see in our existing line-up. This thread is for any serious suggestions anyone from the community can bring up for discussion. We are primarily looking for new server ideas, but if you feel that you have a great contribution for something else, feel free to post it. We will compile the most popular (and most do-able) ideas discussed here into a more definite poll later, which we will then use to get some of your suggestions into action.
