  1. This. You're MUCH better off building your own gaming PC for ~$1000-1200 and then buying a cheap laptop.
  2. Saw this yesterday, was going to suggest it but you beat me to it
  3. Then make a thread in the gaming section, there's nothing stopping you.
  4. The motherboard you chose is sold out and the hard drive is only 5400 RPM, you definitely want a 7200 RPM HDD. edit: And for some reason the link to the case is from Newegg.ca and last I checked you weren't Canadian. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197&Tpk=COOLER%20MASTER%20HAF%20922%20RC-922M-KKN1-GP Its $10 more on the American site.
  5. g35 does seem to have issues with certain games, apparently not working with The Witcher 2 which just came out on Tuesday.
  6. I don't think the fact that its a 6950 is the issue, he probably said that because its getting a lot of bad reviews, seems as if there are a lot of defective units being shipped.
  7. 1. Unless you have a special sound card (most people use built-in) then you can actually benefit from having a USB headset if its decent quality. 2. Laptop mics are horrible, please buy an actual headset. Newegg.com - Corsair HS1 USB Connector Circumaural Headset Newegg.com - Corsair HS1A 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset
  8. With your logic we should remove Lost Temple as well. There are TONS of traitor rooms, all of which you're invulnerable in and have an easy way to escape (via the holes in the floor).
  9. I haven't noticed any "laggy" movement, just lower gravity. There are only 2 traitor rooms, both of which are easy to avoid (though I'll look for a newer version of the map, I don't think that window is meant to stay open). I really fail to see why you hate this map so much compared to several other bad maps that we've had for ages.
  10. Pretty much all of the LoL players are active in vent, I don't really see why we'd need a forum section for it. There's already sections for various genres and several threads about HoN/LoL
  11. 1. A Wilhelm Scream 2. The Bronx 3. Reel Big Fish 4. Streetlight Manifesto 5. Voodoo Glowskulls
  12. hey guys

i love biggie smalls too my favorite song by him is big poopa i hope you enjoy your time here at steam-gamers.net
  13. Megabits =/= Megabytes
  14. Unfortunately I'm not willing to do that, I lack the $ and I don't really know you at all. I looked around on Ebay a bit and most of the DS lites on there ship from China (which are most likely the counterfeit ones as they include pirated games). I couldn't find one in the US that was willing to ship internationally.
  15. I looked around the website a bit and while I don't speak Danish I could figure out what most things meant. From what I can tell they don't offer any option for different heatsinks, leaving you with a crappy stock heatsink with a (most likely) thermal pad on it. I'd advise contacting them and asking them if its possible to get a better heatsink with some actual thermal paste on it, it'll lower your CPU temp by quite a bit.
  16. If you're willing to wait until August I'd advise you to just buy a 3DS, there will be quite a few more games out by then and even more coming towards the end of the year. Also that's REALLY overpriced for a DS Lite, they're $130 here. I knew Europe gets a bit screwed as far as game prices go but I didn't know it was that bad. edit: Seems to be the same thing with the 3DS, $~70-80 more in Europe.
  17. DS Lite was recently discontinued so if you want to be able to play GBA games I highly suggest you buy one ASAP (I'd advise you to stay away from Ebay, there are counterfeits being sold). I wouldn't risk it with a used model, all of the DS models have had issues with the shoulder buttons/hinges wearing out over time. Keep in mind only the original DS/DS lite models play GBA games so you'd still have to emulate/pick up another system if you were to buy a DSi/3DS. In my opinion the 3DS isn't worth it at this point though it will be in the next few months (once Nintendo starts releasing games). Ocarina of Time 3DS comes out next month but it'll be a while longer for more quality titles to show up. Another thing people are worried about is a possible updated model (like with the DS) but I really can't see how they'd make it worth buying. The 3DS isn't much bigger than a DS Lite/DSi, its not a huge brick like the original DS. Its really up to you, you can pick up a DSi pretty cheaply (they recently had a price drop I believe) and there are countless games worth playing for the DS. If you end up buying one I can give you my list of recommended games, I've played practically every DS game worth playing.
  18. Just get the DS, the remakes of the original games are considerably better than the GB/GCD versions and you're a dumb hipster if you say otherwise. If you REALLY want to play GB/GBC games just play them on an emulator, the DS has a ton of amazing games that are worth playing.
  19. Personally I'd be more worried about improving my spelling/grammar if I were you, there's no way in hell you're going to college if you can't even spell it correctly.
  20. LOL @ GT 440, that thing is terrible. Also it seems as if the HDD is most likely only going to be 5400 RPM, its nice how they refuse to tell you exactly what you're getting. You're MUCH better off building your own pc, that way you can make certain adjustments that big companies simply wont do. The biggest one is probably the heatsink, its worth the extra $ to get a decent heat sink and some good thermal paste; most of the time when you purchase pre-builts they're going to use the stock heatsink with the crappy thermal patch on it which will result in much higher CPU temperatures.
  21. Trust me, I was nervous about building my first PC but it only took a few hours and wasn't all that difficult. Most of the work involves a screwdriver and plugging things in correctly. As far as the parts go, it'll hardly cost anything to get a 1TB drive, there's really no reason not to. You never know, you might get into video editing and you'll need that extra space.
