Trazz Posted June 20, 2019 Content Count: 1987 Joined: 12/24/18 Status: Offline Share Posted June 20, 2019 How’d you like this pc to run and what’s budget looking like? I ask how’d you like it to run because you can make PCs strict for gaming, gaming and streaming, just strolling on the internet, and video editing. Overclocking my previous i5 7600K was previously very easy through Gigabyte BIOS, however, I can't get the damn thing to work in ROGs far beefier BIOS. Whenever I change the frequency, it fails to boot. I thought it was undervolting or something, but that doesn't seem to be the case. If I can't figure this out, I may just be switching out for a 2700x instead. Secondly, my performance seems like a downgrade, unless that's just Source failing to utilize multiple cores/threads effectively. I've swapped from a 4 core 3.8 OCed to 4.2 to a 6 core processor at 3.6 that boosts to 4.2. Running the same settings, I've dropped from 300-350 frames, to struggling to break 200. I was planning on upgrading my GPU, but if I'm bottlenecking at the CPU and can't get it to OC, I might just toss this build out the window. 1 Link to comment https://forums.steam-gamers.net/topic/83058-new-pc/#findComment-948397
Trazz Posted June 22, 2019 Content Count: 1987 Joined: 12/24/18 Status: Offline Share Posted June 22, 2019 (edited) I just whipped something up quick but it seems decent https://pcpartpicker.com/list/THJ4r6 for a monitor I’d suggest the asus vg248qe My own build runs most AAA games 144fps+ 1080p (some settings are dropped a little but doesn’t make huge impact to graphics: CPU: i5 8600k GPU: asus rx 570 MOBO: MSI B360 Gaming plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8 rgb 2666mhz Case: Phanteks 400 Storage: 1tb Western Digital (HDD) Samsung 256gb (SSD) PSU: Evga Supernova G3 80+ Gold 550w Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo (really good budget cooler in my opinion) For streaming it does great 720p streams from what I’ve tested so far. If I test it streaming 1080p and it goes well I’ll let you know Edited June 22, 2019 by Trazz Wrong link Link to comment https://forums.steam-gamers.net/topic/83058-new-pc/#findComment-948452
