  1. We’re still waiting for the oven to preheat for the waffles so add some extra years to that.
  2. I'm actually kind of upset that Motox doesn't look like the dude. Idk why but I just always associated that look with him. Edit: Although the Mass effect hat does somewhat make up for it.
  3. To be fair to you, that message doesn't really pertain to what you were referring to. That advertisement is specifically referring to the now (mostly) extinct rule changes made in December. I do think updating it to what you suggested would be beneficial.
  4. That is the very first advertisement message. I put that exact message there when the deathgames/lr rule change happened back in december. there's also a message that says happy easter and has been there since before christmas
  5. V As it currently stands, when you tell a T to crouch to pool, all you have to do to avoid them jumping if you don't want them to, is say "no jumping". Compared to if "no jumping" was in the rules you then have someone jump and get warning shot, and referred to the rules where it says "no jumping is implied when told to crouch walk". IMO of those two options, its more straight forward and easier for the CT to just say 3 more syllables. I don't think asking a CT to be straight forward with his order is complicating anything. I just don't see the big deal about asking for a CT to simply add "no jumping" at the end of "crouch to pool". Which is sounding to me like you're referring to the regulars being smartasses with the orders given and trying to find loop holes. Example being what I used to do when the order was "line up at the bottom of the cell stairs" and I'd go under the stairs because it was technically the bottom. I did so with the understanding that I was likely to be shot, and if I was I didn't make a big deal out of it. Which is where I refer to what I said after getting AO in regards to this exact thing: Idk. I haven't really played on the server at all since sometime in December. If simply asking CTs to tack on "no jumping" is as big of a hassle as you guys are trying to make it out to be, then fuck it have the AOs in charge change the stance back. I really couldn't care less. I still stand by the decision I made months back, but I really don't have much investment at this point if it stays that way. I'm just presenting the counter argument and explaining why the stance was changed and my personal thoughts on the matter since I was the one that ultimately changed it. I don't think its as big of a deal as its being made out to be, but really there's not much more for me to add to this conversation. If it stays that way, I think its best. If not, eh fuck it I don't care.
  6. Think he's asking for the rules to be updated to reflect that change. For example when I just looked at the megathread, it still just says that special orders aren't allowed.
  7. Order is to crouch to pool. You jump while remaining crouched, you're still crouched. That's my point. The original stance years ago was that when you jumped, you weren't crouching. I begged to differ and changed the stance, which I still stand behind. If they uncrouch while jumping, yeah go ahead and shoot them. And CTs don't have to give orders like "One step out, face your cell, freeze. No jumping, no crouching, no panther steps no bhopping". One step out and freeze means just that. At least in regards to jump steps or the retarded ass Panther steps. I made it very clear throughout my time as AO that if someone took more than one step, they weren't following the classic "one step out face the cell and freeze" order. Panther steps as far I know aren't even a thing anymore, and when they were it was hardly my fault. Blame the retarded kids that took my joke I made before I was even admin, and ran with it. But one step out and freeze means exactly that. You take one step and freeze. I say just tack on "no jumping" because IMO if they remained crouched while jumping, the order is still being fulfilled. Which is what this ultimately boils down to. Whether or not you believe that staying crouched while jumping is fulfilling the "crouch" part of the order. Which I do, and that's currently how the rule still stands. I'd love to see someone manage to legitimately bhop while crouch jumping. Again, if they uncrouch while jumping, they can be shot. But AFAIK, you can't remain crouched and build up speed to actually bhop somewhere. The whole "jumping isn't implied" doesn't show up on the server unless it was added after my departure. It only appears in the FAQ thread. One of the things I did while AO was try to limit the amount of rules listed in the !rules plugin since at one point I believe we had over 30. And there's a difference in learning basic fundamentals of the game if you're new (such as not freekilling) and learning the technicalities of the specific servers rules. It's much easier for CTs to say what they want (no jumping) than for a new player (either to our server, or JB in general), to just assume no jumping is implied. Yes, it could be added to the !rules plugin so someone won't have to check the forums, but the rules plugin is there for IMO for the more core elements of the game. Such as wardens, warning shots, detour/delay etc. And again I ask why does this matter? If you start from a crouch walk, and jump while remaining crouched, you aren't going to gain momentum. This entire argument ultimately boils down to, as I said before, whether or not you believe that jumping while remaining crouched, fulfills the "crouch walk" order. I still believe it does since you are still crouched, and that's what the rules reflect. If the new AOs in charge beg to differ and change it then so be it. Something like no d/ds is implied and on the server rule list because it's a very crucial part of the mode and applies to every single order given. Specifying whether or not no jumping is implied to crouch walk orders only pertains to that one order and as such doesn't warrant a slot on the !rules plugin imo. It's clarified only in the FAQ thread because it is a FAQ. From a rule standpoint it's easier for CTs to just state what they want from the Ts. As such I still stand by my point that it's better for CTs to just say no jumping.
  8. @Bubblez the primary reason why it was decided a few years back that no jumping would be implied was that the people in charge at the time felt that when you jumped, you were no longer fulfilling the order to crouch. That by jumping, you no longer were crouching. I personally disagree with that, and as such made it that CTs needed to specify that you didn't want them to jump. I still think that that is the correct route to go. It's much easier for a CT to add "no jumping" than it is for a T to assume they can't jump. When a new person to our server joins, how are they supposed to know that they can't jump? Far as they're concerned they are still crouching as told. And really it boils down to a simple, who the fuck cares? Really, the fact this is being discussed again is silly. Firstly, I hate the order to crouch somewhere that isn't a short distance (such as crouch from medic to ISO on razor which is a short way), but ultimately why as a CT should you care if a T is jumping while crouching there? It's not like he's full on sprinting there. And if you order them to crouch there so you can check for weapons or whatever, then just say don't jump. But the act of jumping while being told to crouch somewhere is such a small thing that it shouldn't matter. Adding "no jumping" to the end of your order is a matter of speaking 3 more syllables. I've yet to hear a valid reason why no jumping should be implied other than people thinking that jumping is no longer fulfilling the crouch walk order, which I disagree with. As a CT you should be as clear as possible with your orders. Tacking on "no jumping" is easier for everyone to understand rather than just assuming or implying it.
  9. But he's not a mediocre #2. Dude has the speed and ability to make hard catches (despite his ability to drop the easy shit sometimes). His job isn't to be Dez, or Odell, or Julio, or Antonio. And honestly Beasley is more of our number 2 anyway, but he's too small to line up as a true #2. Look how efficient and productive our offense ran last year and in 2014. 4 mil a year is dirt cheap and only two of those years are guaranteed anyway. Also Church got paid 26 mil. We tried to resign him but it didn't happen. I'm saddened by his departure, but there's no reason to be pissed by the TWill signing. TWill is a solid number 2 on an offense stacked with weapons. If there's anything our front offense has taught me since Stephen and Will took over, it's to trust the process.
  10. 4 year, 17 million. That's a cheap ass contract. Twill gets too much hate. He's not a number one by any means, but as far as number twos go, he's solid. Take out the week one drama, and there's not much to complain about for him last year. Dude shined under Romo. Yeah we joke that he drops the easy shit cuz he can't use his hands, but for fucking 4 million a year, and only 9.5 guaranteed this is a really good deal. We still have Dez, we still have Zeke, we still have Beasley and we still have Witten. Everything else is just extra sugar. TWill has always been healthy and has had some clutch moments. We also got Butler back who I think is also a decent WR. If nothing else this is consistency for Dak, which with us going balls deep with our commitment to him, is good.
  11. It's already in the rules that orders must be reasonable. If a CT asks a T for their LR and then just pops him 5 seconds later, that's not reasonable. Don't see a need to specify in the rules that they need to give 15 secs min for LRs when it's covered by the reasonable order rule already.
  12. I only sing when I'm drunk. And I work Saturday so pls. You still have plenty of recordings from New Years to hold you over
  13. I mean IMO if they're making you afk freeze long enough that you're seeing the afk timer, it's a good minute of afk frozen. Which just isn't reasonable. In that case the CT is breaking the rules by not being reasonable with his orders. In which case it'd be no different than any other case of CTs being unreasonable. I don't think they should be reported via player complaint for one instance of this, but if they do it and won't listen get an admin. If they continue to do it then yeah by all means make a complaint.
  14. Really get annoyed by this constant complaint against the order. Unless your sensitivity is retardedly high, you can move the mouse less than a centimeter and avoid afk timer and unless a CT has you under a super powered microscope, they won't notice. But again, if you're even seeing the afk timer the CTs aren't being reasonable with their orders and should be punished.
  15. If anything i would crack down more on freedays being overused and abused more than I would one ways. Rather than specifying that CTs can't camp one way, or last ct in this case, I would recommend relooking at the phrasing of camping being allowed in the rules and how free days come into play. As it stands now, if you just say last ct can't camp a one way, then you just end up with that Ct camping a vent or somewhere else. As it also currently stands, the rules state that the last can camp as long as he does not delay. CTs in general can only camp if they are enforcing the orders and helping their team. Which is how you end up the order being "free day no soccer" and get CTs camping soccer. Or freeday and have the ct camp one way. First step to fixing this I think would be to have the admins crack down more on CTs giving freedays. The rules state you can't repeat orders. So to get around that CTs will order freeday no soccer, then the next round order all Ts to pool, then turn around and freeday no pool, then all Ts to disco, then free day no past first cell and so on and on it goes. I think that the rule of no repeating orders needs to not be taken so literal anymore. If you manage to play 13 rounds on a map before it switches, 8-9 of those rounds should not be some variation of "freeday here/no here". The vast majority of maps nowadays have more options than pool, soccer and big cage. Start making the CTs use it. Take lego for example. If the order is disco, last ct, or any ct for that matter, can't camp the one way the entire round since orders aren't being enforced. Second I would go about some way or another of specifying that if the order is freeday that the CT needs to be actively moving around and making sure Ts aren't rebelling in anyway such as walking on a catwalk or running around with a gun out. Using razor now as the example, if the order is freeday no soccer. The CTs shouldn't be camping just in soccer. They should instead be moving around and making sure the Ts aren't breaking into armory. On that same note, they shouldn't be camping the one way either. They should be checking pool to make sure no one managed to get a primary or that they aren't strolling around with the deagle out. They should be going into soccer to make sure the Ts aren't where they shouldn't be. Like I said, they should actively be moving and enforcing orders. Which isn't to say camping should be flat out banned. If order is to be in big cage there's nothing wrong with a Ct chilling in the one way. On that same note if the order is pool and shit has hit the fan and a ct is camping in that one way and popping the rebels there's nothing wrong with that. But once things are under control, he should return to watching the rest of the Ts. TL;DR- Reassess how camping in general is approached in the rules rather than specifying that last ct can't camp one ways. Reworking how "camping as long as they are enforcing the rules" is handled should overall be a help in many aspects. That paired with cracking down on the constant overuse of freedays should help the overall quality of the server.
  16. To be exact, I rejected it because the very little changes were not worth bothering to update the server map list and have people download a new map. I wouldn't even go as far as "we don't want better versions of maps" because that would be calling the version of the map that I rejected better, which it honestly wasn't. It boiled down mostly to new song in disco and a soccer scoreboard that no one would ever look at anyway. As for if we care about map stats, they sometimes come into play when discussing map removals or comparing some maps. For example when looking at how often a map is played. It honestly doesn't matter that much, but for how little was changed in that version, i didn't find it important enough to fuck with it. Simply put I deemed at the time of rejection that the differences in the map were so minimal there wasn't a reason to even bother with the switch. As for the current proposed version, there appears to be some extra differences that were either just added or are just now being made clear. Up to the AOs if they want to switch or not and I don't care enough to test it myself.
  17. Nah fam, he's onto something....
  18. I say there's nothing wrong with it because there isn't. The map is hands down one of the most popular maps in the entire JB community (even outside of ours) for years, and for good reason. The one way is far from OP. You already have a 50% chance of death IIRC when picking the first color, and if the first color is grey you still have a 50% chance of death since it doesn't follow the set Red to blue, blue to red concept. It's a high risk, and I would say medium reward. From that one way you can't see the entire map. You can only keep control over the portions of the main area that aren't covered by the cells. And there's also that invisible barrier where you can't shoot down the hallway or anything past it to the top left of main cells (top left when you're looking at it). And making the code completely random changes very little here. You won't see a decrease in CTs trying to go in. It's already a big risk as it is to go in. All you'll see is even more people dying on the second level, which is counterintuitive to your complaint of CTs Fucking over their team. This is straight up scraping the bottom of the barrel for things to complain about. If there's been a big increase since I left with CTs camping that one way, then it falls back to what I said in the afk freeze thread. Which is people need to start pulling the trigger more on CTs bullshit. If you notice a CT keeps either going there and camping every round, or going there and dying (and as such being of no use to his team at all) then move him and start punishing him. But going as far as to edit the map is just ridiculous. The map has been on the server since the creation of time and is one of the most popular JB maps ever. There's never once been an issue with the one way on this map, and it's often been pointed to as the best one way given its "puzzle" so to speak to get in there, and because it doesn't offer you an OP weapon such as an AWP or auto, and also doesn't give you complete control over the entire map. Making the code to get up there 100% random ruins the entire point of having the one way on the map. When talking about shitty one ways, I point to the one version of razor which had a one way you could just walk right into and iirc lock the door so no one could get in. That one was also harder to shoot into and given the layout of the map did command a little more control over the map. Again, I say there's nothing wrong with lego's one way because there straight up isn't. You aren't ever guaranteed to get the first color right, and even if you do get to the one way it doesn't offer you complete control. As a CT you can't stay up there constantly unless you're helping your team, and if CTs keep issuing freedays and camping it then that's when an admin steps in and shuts that shit down. As a T you can only do so much as well since a CT could either also pick the right colors and attack you, or they can use their man power to shoot through the window. One ways are fine as long as they aren't overused and overpowered. Lego does not fall into that category and going through the hassle of changing the map is just insane to me. Lego has never, ever, had an issue with camping or the map being heavily sided one way or the other. This is coming across to me as change for the sake of change. I am heavily against changing the map. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Signed in just to reply to this shit... The code is random, so to speak. While yes, it is set that Red always leads to blue and vice versa, that first color is always different each round. And even if you get the first color right, if it was grey you still have a 50/50 chance of the next color being grey or yellow. Honestly, if it isn't broken, don't fuck with fix it. There is literally nothing wrong with the one way on lego unless you're just hunting for things to complain about. Its one of the few one ways I never had a problem with purely because you aren't ever guaranteed to get that first color right. Plus its easy as a T to break out of the cell with the vent, run through pool and get into the one way and rebel from there. Its also not impossible to kill someone that is in there, but it can and has been done, and used to be done quite often before. Tldr- Don't fuck with Lego's one way, there's nothing wrong with it.
  20. Just to throw it out there, they should only be using AFK freeze for things such as gun checks or if shit hits the fan and they need to regain quick control. Half the shit I'm seeing mentioned here shouldn't be an issue since it shouldn't be happening. On mobile and don't have tapatalk anymore so too lazy to quote pieces but I'll just go down the list: @FLuiD IMO, which you'll need an AO of the server to back it up to make it official, but if you notice CTs keep just ordering afk freeze and not doing anything than use your position as an admin to tell them to knock the shit off. If they're doing it constantly every round tell them, in a more polite way, to Fuck off and stop repeating orders and actually do something. There's never a reason for Ts to be afk frozen for more than maybe 20-30 seconds. @Metal there is no gray area. I clearly defined it months back. AFK freeze is absolutely 0 movement at all. If your player model moves, you're not afk frozen. This means crouching and knifing or whatever. You can talk on mic since your model does not move. If you're forced to afk freeze long enough that you're even seeing the afk timer warning, CTs aren't being reasonable with their orders. @Mad Dogg again just my thoughts, but if they're being told to afk freeze for anywhere near a minute, it doesn't sound to me like they're being reasonable with their orders. @LeWolf if a ct just says freeze and doesn't specify afk freeze, and they shoot you for not being afk frozen, that's a freeshot. Honestly it sounds from what I'm reading ITT that it's less of "something in the rules needs to be done" and more of you guys just need to start pulling the trigger more on their bullshit. Adding a restriction to the rules about how long they can be frozen or when it can or can't be ordered is only gong to cause confusion. And I don't think it should be flat out removed since it does serve a purpose. My proposed solution would be for the admins when they're on to start using that gun of theirs and shooting their shit down. If you see someone constantly abusing afk freeze then start telling them to lay off the shit. If they keep abusing it, then start moving them or punishing them. That's just my thoughts. I think the better course of action would be to start shutting down their bullshit rather than adding a rule and neutering what CTs can or can't do. Especially since what I've read ITT sounds like the same complaints I've heard since I clarified that afk is allowed and is shit that shouldn't be happening anyway. Now if you want to clarify in there that AFK freeze is not meant to be used as an actual regular order and is only meant to be used as means of doing a quick weapon check or to regain quick control over the Ts when chaos happens due to someone rebelling or cells being opened with no orders or whatever. I think that that would be fine, but I strongly disagree what any form of restrictions need to be added or the order completely removed. People just need to start shooting that bullshit down when they see it. Now if you need me, I'll be falling back into the abyss I just crawled out of
  21. New Years Hangout

That sounds like some shit my drunk ass would say. Fair enough.
