  1. I've got people to fix these, the 2nd one is an image and may take a bit for us to get corrected.
  2. I am not sure download time would really be an issue here, if the file was kept small enough, could be worth it. However, I question would it interfere with communication within the game? Like would it be heard over someone talking on the mic or would it blow out who is talking on the mic? Could be annoying at that point.
  3. That's the only way it will work while in the game, its the in-game browser and its really not meant for something like that. About the only other suggestion there is to have http://www.steam-gamers.net/stats.php up on a browser and alt-tab to it. We really don't want to spam the chat with stat related stuff. It clogs our logs (makes the more massive than they already are) and for the most part people look at them after playing using the aforementioned: http://www.steam-gamers.net/stats.php
  4. Problem is that a lot of times the automated messages get passed pretty quickly due to the spamming. I do not see adding that will do anything to change the occurrence. I don't like saying it but its one of those times where even the action will not change the result.
  5. Final Update! Looks like everything was repaired around 2pm ET on the 24th. I've not seen any further issues with our connections so I am sounding the all clear for us.
  6. At the same time, recording demos and player complaint them will do the same effect. I know how people always complain about how we need admins in servers, but it ain't always possible. That's why the regular players need to do player complaints. If kids are screaming on the microphone as much as you are saying, it won't be hard to get enough evidence to issue bans.
  7. As of tonight, they are still on the backup line, it doesn't handle as much as the main line so we can expect outages until they hook back up. Seems when we do have them, they are only down for a few minutes. If stuff goes down longer than 5 minutes contact an AO+.
  8. Servers seem to be up for the moment, haven't received the all clear from the host yet, so they could go back down. EDIT: They went to a backup fiber link, however, they are still working on the other one for redundancy.
  9. I guess I did do this, probably at like 4 am one day. Its fixed.
  10. Slightly different scenario. Yours was less than a 1/4 inch thick, this one could be several inches thick.
  11. About 11 am ET all our servers went down. I just got information that the fiber line has been cut at the datacenter where our servers are hosted. This is expected to take several hours. It could possible be down the rest of the day. The host is looking at options but does not look like we'll be playing any time soon. Sorry for the issues.
  12. Was my first action...
  13. To be able to fix this, I'll need to know where it is. I don't think I put that there but its possible. If you are using chrome select the text, right click and choose inspect. Take a SS of the stuff that comes up. It will help me find where the hell that is.
  14. I have finished the form and all the stuff associated with it, so if you want to give us some input on how we do this server head over to the form here: http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/forms.php?do=form&fid=61 You can only submit this once, if you fuck up, you'll make more work for me and I won't be happy. A few things, we may not go straight into modded stuff right away. We are still figuring out how that all works and what not and may just take longer for those elements to get ready. We'll try to balance everyone's opinion but we won't be able to make everyone happy. With this game, we'll get a feel of when we should reset the world. After you get to day 100 things can get a bit bland because you should have good bases by then and not sweating on night 7s. So with that said, the sooner more people get this survey done, the sooner we'll publicly launch the server. Thanks everyone!
  15. BR copied and pasted the reason we won't do an official discord server. As far as VIP, pretty much as close as we'll get is subscriber. Yeah you can play here a crap ton, but its not what keeps the doors open here. That's why any and all special benefits go into that rank. As far as other in-game perks, while we've entertained that, we feel we do not want to be a pay to win in any type. New skins are coming, just need patience. New servers, here's the thing, you mentioned specifically Gmod. We used to have GMod. It was nice. Lasted quite a while. Problem is that it is probably the most pain in the ass game when it came to updates. I've never seen a game break so much when updates were applied. Its been my biggest complaint of the game itself. It claims to be sandbox and moddable, but when they push an update something usually breaks. It is a modder's and server managers biggest nightmare. Also, when CS:GO came around (granted about a year after its release), our Gmod servers started to die as everyone seemed to migrate there. There were not enough GMod players left to reasonably keep things open. Currenty, we offer a Rust and Minecraft server. Both don't do well on population, however, they are independently ran outside our main servers. We are currently looking to do a 7 Days to Die server (hope to have a survey out to get the starting specs here soon). We are always looking for other kinds of servers, its just not always right for us to do.
  16. As I've told you earlier, you will be missed here. It won't be the same without you. We both have spent a significant amount of time here and most of it has been working together managing the community. We've learned a bunch from each other and grown into different people because of it. I was thankful for you speaking out and against me in several discussions we've had as BDs. It was always a good thing when we had our devils advocate sessions. You'll always be welcomed here. Hopefully this isn't goodbye, more of a see ya later. Also...TACOS!!!
  17. This is the biggest problem when you try a similar gamemode on a different platform, or even doing say a 2nd server of the same thing cause the 1st server is full. When you duplicate things, you end up pulling people away from one thing to move to another. I like @Bread's idea of keeping it on the MGT poll. A ton of these gamemode ideas really will do better as a MGT.
  18. A question that has come up is the use of real life names. If someone has disclosed their real life name and has no issue with you calling them by it, that is ok. That is an example of "with their permission". However, if you have found out someone's real name and they ask you not to use it, that's not ok. A lot of this is common sense stuff. But being the internet, some people are going to try to push the limits or be afraid of those limits. Our advice to all, is ask the person first.
  19. In the past we've had to deal with people posting/publishing personal information, and we would handle it privately and a bit discretely. As time has gone on, we keep finding us dealing with this topic and at this point we are tired of dealing with it. A lot of this is "high school drama". We are here to play video games and not to start drama. With that said: from here on out, if anyone posts/publishes any one else's personal information without their permission, in any format that comes back to us with proof, you will be permed from Steam-Gamers. We are very, very serious about this matter. We are deeming personal information to include but not restricted to: name, addresses, phone number, photos (EVEN if they are already posted publicly here), social media information, etc. At ANY point in time, we can deem anything not on this list as 'personal information'. Plain and simple - don't share somebody's stuff that isn't yours. With cyber-bullying investigations on the rise we want to get ahead of that by making a strict no personal information rule. It will be us (BD's) who will have to be questioned by investigators/authorities. We are hoping by making this rule, we can prevent any of these incidents from happening. Once someone's personal information gets posted/published, it can be very hard to remove all aspects of it to where it cannot be recovered in some instances. We understand that shit talking and whatnot is common, but there is an obvious line not to cross. Personal information is one of those lines that should never be crossed. If it is, punishments will be handed out swiftly. We hope all of you will assist us in making sure personal information is kept private at all times. If you see any members disclosing personal information of another member, please let an AO+ know immediately.
  20. https://www.humblebundle.com/best-of-2016-bundle Best of 2016, BTA, is currently $3.71, has a bunch of really good games in this deal.
  21. I would say I'd rather see this as an one off event first, let people see what its like and see how it preforms. Things like this would be better to start off as a MGTG event first or something similar, then expand into a full server later. Spending the time to build and try to maintain a mod that has old school nostalgia effect could ultimately be a waste of time if it doesn't get traction.
  22. We ran the stress test on Saturday during the late afternoon through the evening and I didn't find any issues with us running the server. That being said, later on, I'll make a thread somewhere talking about settings of what people will want to use. There are a few mods that were suggested that I need to look into before letting an official push for it. What I do know is it will be the standard 8 slot server, we don't have a whole lot of people who do own this game so while maybe initially it could be a bit crowded, I feel it will balance over time. This will also help with the server health, there have been reports when you get a bunch of people playing (even over 12), with the zomb/wildlife spawns the engine tends to struggle. Remember, this is still an early development of the game and atm, their focus isn't multiplayer server health. I am expecting an update of the game to hit late February-mid March, so if we do end up running mods, it could break. So I'm still trying to learn as much as I can about this server management before going full on release. Expect a thread on options probably later this week. I'll try to figure out how I want to handle the input to make it easy for me to break down (probably some sort of form) as we'll have a ton of different options on several settings so I'll want to kind of find an easy way to visualize it all.
  23. I've played with this and not made anything that I or the others on the board have liked. While its a good idea, its too limited with what can be done. It currently just clutters it up more and really doesn't add to the distinction between channel sections.
  24. It's the only way I roll. It's got to be large. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
