  1. I am getting reports that we are having registration issues. Well I kinda need to know more than people are having issues. I need to know how they are trying to register, via Steam or the traditional way. What e-mail service they are using. What error specifically is coming up. This goes for just about everything, when someone tells you they have a problem, ask them questions even though you may not be able to help them, without more information, telling me someone has a problem with x, usually doesn't help me at all.
  2. Have you met this guy before? Its his thing, most of us ignores him. On a serious note, the admin set up here has been this way since the inception of PB. The theory here is why it will never change: We've gone through so many thought processes on how to admin PB and its just a sesspool for rule breakers because the gamemode, like TTT, is inherent to everyone agreeing to rules not set by the game itself. With each time CS:GO goes on sale until they come out with a new game we will see these spurts of rule breakers come into the servers. Like you said its easy to pick out admins when they join the server, my suggestion and like others has said, go in undercover. That negates that issue. However, it isn't foolproof. The only way to guarantee people get punished is by player complaints when there is no admin.
  3. This is definitely not the issue.
  4. Here is an excerpt from an e-mail sent to some retail outlets regarding the issue: For more information: http://www.pcgamer.com/warning-steam-is-revealing-private-account-information/
  5. Steam disabled their login procedures to fix issues, the login servers are back up and people are reporting things looks like its back to normal. More information on this, it seems a cache/session issue was to blame here where people were sharing each others sessions and/or cache info. This information is used for when you make a purchase that it make sure it goes through and usually is deleted within 10 minutes. It appears this may have not been the case. If you have Steam Guard enabled (which if you don't you are an idiot), you really had nothing to worry about. All credit card information (full numbers and details) are encrypted by federal law and were not accessed. It also doesn't appear and password hashes were accessed. I am calling this a glitch with the store. STEAM WAS NOT HACKED. Someone probably updated a bit of coding that had an unwanted effect where you could see things that are normally hidden.
  6. http://www.vox.com/2014/9/4/6105631/map-galaxy-supercluster-laniakea-milky-way Today I learned that I needed to update my location here on the forums. For several decades we were thought to be in a Supercluster of galaxies known as the Virgo Supercluster. Apparently last year, scientists discovered that the Virgo Supercluster is essentially the 'tip of the iceberg' when it comes to the structure known as Superclusters. The science behind this discovery is pretty neat, if you are interested in space and stuff I suggest checking it out.
  7. Where the fuck do you come from? OT, While this would be do-able with text chat, you wouldn't prevent voice chat. But we've never censored anyone for language and I do not forsee such a thing.
  8. Well after having a few discussions with people I'm going to hold a post-Christmas gaming day. It will be similar to the gaming marathon but we'll have some fun things to do. I want to do some game giveaways as well. I have a few games that I've saved up from in the past that I can give away and I'll have a few more soon. If anyone else would like to join in on giving stuff away just hit me up via PM or Steam Message. So I'll be holding this on December 26th. I think I'll start about the same time as I did last time which was Noon Eastern. I actually liked the randomness of what we played and based off who was actually around worked well. We did learn a few things from the first time, which was most of the jackbox games really didn't work for us cause they had to watch the stream but then it caused them to not hear some elements cause it was on a bit of delay. So we won't be playing them. Rocket League seemed to be very popular, so I have no problem doing that a bunch, we probably could get a few of those games going if we got enough people. I know it will be asked, but I won't give too much details on what we are giving away or how other than you will have to be present to win.
  9. This mod was one of my favorite back in CS:S, but @Frostbitten is correct, GMod Prop Hunt has taken over in that realm. We've really never had too big of a surge in people wanting to play this style for longer than a month.
  10. I guess this has to do with the recent SteamDB find of HL3? I'm skeptical of any sort of release if anything on it. The big thing here is if they did want to do it, they may have missed their opportunity to do so. What do I mean? Half-life 1 came out when I was in high school. Half-life 2 hit 2 years after high school. Half-life 3 Ep. 2 came out right before my kid was born. Yes I am fucking old and I know it. But heres the thing, most people who played these games when they were new, are most of your guys ages then and are now me and fucking old as shit and don't play anymore. I consider myself a rare breed that has kept playing, not no where near what I used to but you guys know I can still hold it down. Anyone who was amped for this game is in a different frame of life right now. (or at least I hope) They are about 4-5 years too late to capitalize on the popularity of the older games. Like it was stated earlier, they are in a Duke Nukem gray area where it will be difficult for it to be successful. Hell I'm even skeptical on the upcoming Doom game. Let alone that I'd probably would have to replay all the games again just to remember what the story was, I'm really no longer invested in seeing it made. Yes I know a lot of you kiddos has recently discovered this game, but as far as a game goes, it broke ground when it was new, now its very basic and nostalgic. They would have to change the feel that it would have had if it did come out 4-5 years ago. There was a discussion a while ago that at this point Valve really should not do it because it had been so long. The reasons above where the main points but from another points that aren't as prevalent, mostly the company itself isn't what it used to be. Most of the employees aren't game developers, or at least seasoned ones with the series. The game would be not what people would or even should expect. Ideally, if they were going to do it, after the success for Portal 2 should have been the time. Not jumping to Dota 2. While Dota 2 has been successful, it has caused the companies full focus since beta. I doubt many could transition to a FPS game development without having issues. Another reason I'd rather not see it, is I'd rather not be disappointed. Kinda why I almost wished Star Wars wasn't continuing, I don't want to be disappointed in it.
  11. I've been asked by a few people when I'll do another marathon event. We'll I decided to do one the day after Christmas on December 26th. More precise timing when the event will kick off will come closer to the event. However, I'd like to plan this event out a bit more. So throw out your suggestions. The week of December 14th I'll do some test sessions for suggestions. I have time off work that week but don't really have the time to do a long marathon event. As we get closer we'll nail down a good schedule and plan for the event. I have a few ideas to improve it and am not ready to divulge these just yet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  12. Latest information: 2 Suspects dead, one male and one female. Wearing assault gear with handguns and long rifles. Third suspect is detained, they were seen running from the scene where the other 2 suspects died in a shootout with police. Bomb squad is going to be on scene at the primary scene for multiple suspicious items left around after the initial shooting. The scene where the 2 suspects died is still being processed as they fear car may be rigged with IED's. There is a current, on-going, raid on an apartment complex in nearby Redlands, CA. Unsure how it is related at the moment. There is no official word of terrorism at this point, however, with the multiple scenes and the armament and style of the attack, no one is denying it.
  13. May have caught up with suspects there was a gun battle not far matching vehicle description. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  14. Another crazy day at work. 14 are dead at a mass shooting in San Bernardino, CA. Speculation that 3 suspects are still missing. Be safe southern California. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

  19. Working for a place that uses ad revenue and has specific targeting built into the site, I'm not sure this would be a good idea. Our website(not SG, my real job) has 2 or 3 ad platforms we use. We use a system that is similar to Google AdSense where it cycles seemingly random ads on specific sections of the website. We do have some control over it where we can not run some (ie. our competition, it has happened a few times) Then we have our in-house sales and marketing. We sell specific space to our clients for small things that either they don't want to run as a tv commercial or its specifically targeting. We also use some spaces for in-house marketing where we advertise contests and events that we are sponsoring (they are technically called ads as they aren't content). We wouldn't want people to just pay up to by pass that as other people are paying us to show it. I think in some situations and some pages it would work, but in others it would be a disaster.
  20. damn I should have thought of that...
  21. Might do another marathon day but not as strict crazyness. Let's see how I am feeling after working on thanksgiving Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  22. I have not picked one, need to know how many people are wanting to show up to participate, helps pick what game I can do.
  23. It's all good we'll figure it out. For those wondering, I'll be a bit delayed watching the Nascar finish shouldn't be too late Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
