  1. Revelation: Life sucks. You were expecting something more amazing, right? ;) --- Ok, ok.. so here's why I've been gone and missing: Lately, I've been kidnapped several times by three hookers: a Swedish blonde, a Danish brunette, and an Irish red-head. No joke. Each time, they come to my room in the middle of the night in a stealthy, ninja manner. Then they gag me so I can't scream, knock me out, and take me to their hooker house. Once awake, they keep me there for a whole day before knocking me out and returning me home (no one suspects me absense because it's been on weekends). But the crazy part is what they make me do! O the pain! They force me to do "favors" for them between work sessions! And when I say "favors," I mean bad shit goes down! And do you want to know what the worst part is? They whip me! You should seriously see the scars on my back! Boy are they bad! So, just for your information, I've been unable to be online because hookers have been kidnapping me. All truth. Seriously. Did I mention that they're good hookers?
  2. My username is untouchable (as far as this topic is concerned, that is :] )
  3. Congrats, man! (You made SA!)

  4. Godspeed, CAs. May He help you ;)
  5. What about past admins? Do we all become 'apprentices' or stay where we already are?
  6. Both if we lived in a perfect world.

But I had already briefly spoken with some folk; the BDs may not have changed the punishment anyways.

Besides, Lux: it's obvious that, because I have two strikes, I'm a terrible person and one of the lousiest admins out there, evar (note of sarcasm). I just feel some stuff is over-analyzed or taken too serious here. Oh well.

  7. Perhaps. To be honest, I was planning to just PM it to the BDs but decided not to only because I want people to know my opinion.

Now, I'm not jumping on any bandwagon (if I was, I wouldn't believe there was hope). I just wanted people to see the stuff I saw (like the hypocricy). Mission was accomplished, so I've built my bridge over the river now.

  8. That's always good.

  10. I'd like to remind people of my original post. (If you don't want to reread everything, just read my conclusion) I said that my strike should be lifted because of the hypocrisy and influenced decision. (I want to emphasize that I've never confirmed nor denied that my actions are valid.) Daze displayed in the complaint that he already had made his decision up. Also, he may have already had preconceptions about the entire situation; when people are forming preconceptions, they're already solidifying their decisions, trying to ignore what's presented to them. If someone has severe bias and preconceptions, how can their decisions truly be validated? Also, what I don't think many here are realizing is that I linked Paul only to represent irresponsibility and hypocricy. Letting an AO scotch-free from more servere things is pretty much saying, "WE can do whatever we want, but YOU can't. Tough luck." Is that fair? Is that objective? No. My entire argument here is simple: My strike should be erased from my record because the strike's premise is unreliable. Also, the hypocricy that the AO team has displayed in the past further suggests their decision to give me a strike is even more rocky. When someone is allowing another to pass through the rules while not allowing others, that only means that that 'someone' isn't quite trustworthy; how can we value the opinion of someone who lets some people slip through their own rules?
  11. I've already said that there'll always be a stickler amongst a crowd of laughers. But the fact still remains: other admins have gotten away with more server actions. What happens to them? Also, if the whole thing is going to be tagged as abuse because that one stickler (as there always is one) got upset, then I don't really know what the point of administration is. Is an admin not supposed to promote (if not provide) fun in the servers so people return and the community stays alive? --- My whole two points here are: (1) that the basis of my strike is a lot of bologna: The only outcome of what I did was laughs, a complaint, and the ending title screen. If that's going to mean abuse, then I don't know what is abuse at this point. (2) There is a lot of crap going around the running of this community. I mentioned Paul because he got away with stuff far worse. My argument concerning Paul is simple: Is my strike's decision truly justifiable when the same people making those decisions are allowing worse stuff to happen amongst themselves? Hypocrisy ain't so cool.
  12. Fair enough. --- I used no-clip for the entertainment of other players, not myself. The facts are my motivation was not selfish and my actions only affected the title screen. I got a strike because someone didn't like to see "Zombies Win." So yet again, I pose the question: Are my actions really abuse when they were well-received and they didn't affect the core game-play of the round? --- I also want to reitterate that Paul got away with his rockets and black holes. Why am I being punished when he got away with stuff far worse than what I did? All this political silliness is pretty damned far from righteousness.
  13. It sounds silly, but I don't usually do things just for myself. When I thought "Hey, it'd be cool to do that," I wasn't thinking of how cool it'd be to do that for myself, I was thinking of how many other people who get to have a laugh. I knew there'd be a stickler, there always is. But the fact of matter is this: Regardless of my motivation, the actual "abuse" that occurred is hardly abuse. It happened after the war was essentially over when everyone knew the CTs had won; a title screen doesn't honestly make that much of a difference does it? --- And here's another interesting thing I don't quite understand. If I received a strike for this complaint because of previous actions, then bring that up in a different complaint. Seriously. Vince's complaint addressed my no-clipping into a ship, not the past. A fair AO should make a decision based on that situation, not previous ones. If AOs are "getting revenge" then how can they claim that they're being "objective and fair" ?? If the AOs are fair, then their decisions would be from the present facts, not the past. If they're making decisions based on personal bias and opinions of one's past, then we need to stop claiming that our system is really good and start re-evaluating this community's chain-of-command. In a weird analogy, it's not too much different in court: A judge will usually make decisions based on the facts presented during the case, not the overall record of the accused (unless their record is obviously chronic, like constant arrest of drugs).
  14. I don't deny that part of my motivation was "for the lulz." But won't upsets me is that it's hardly abuse. Yeah, I no-clipped when they wasn't an obvious reason for me to do so, but what was the ultimate outcome? I got a strike because one guy was upset that he didn't see "Humans Win." Is that really comparable to me fucking up the servers or slaying players during the round (not after)?
  15. I'm confused. The majority of the server was laughing, receiving my actions in a good manner. So I pose this question to you, Leluoch: Potshot's actions were well-received by many but one person; my actions were well-received by many but one person. How are our situations different in that comparison?
  16. All, My link to Potshot was not 'the usage of admin powers' versus not using powers. I linked Potshot to my situation because both share a similar source: fun. I understand that I no-clipped and that Potshot didn't. I compared us because we both did what we did out of the search for fun.
  17. Dear Board of Directors and Administrative Manager, I would like to formally appeal my second admin strike given to me November 16 (http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=27183 ). The complaint was originally submitted on my action of no-clipping into the escape ship on the Death Star escape map, ‘hovering’ until the explosion finished (while I made sure to attract all the CTs’ attention), releasing myself from no-clip and being pinned to a corner by twenty guns, and then barely zombifying a player who thereafter zombified the rest of the CT team. I feel that this strike was not decided by the presented facts, as complaints are supposed to be; therefore, the final decision that was made cannot be and is not justified. As such, my second admin strike should be lifted and removed from my record for the following reasons: First, as I already stated, the AOs in charge of my admin complaint made a decision that was hardly objective. In the beginning ‘stages’ of the complaint, Daze said he had no sympathy and said my defense was a “weak excuse.” He clearly had already decided, within himself, that I would be punished despite the reality of what happened; how can a reasonable decision be made when it’s influenced by a personal bias? Next, I would like to mention how other administrators have committed more server actions with little to no punishment. A primary example is the complaint filed against Paul on October 7 ( http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25952&highlight=Paul ) . Here, Paul changed his own personal gravity as to lower his friction, affecting game-play by disrupting the CT team during these specific rounds. In addition, he later did an action that killed the entire terrorist team. Both these occurrences were well-received by the server (just like my action was well-received in my complaint) though what Paul did was still severely abusive of his own administrative powers. Paul said in this complaint that he did these actions out of boredom and got “a little but too carried away” and admitted to creating a black hole, an action only higher-ups can do, an action that is irresponsible because it had no real fundamental purpose. Still, Paul received absolutely no punishment even though his actions were very abusive of his capabilities. Why am I being punished for committing things far less severe while Paul gets off scotch-free? Continuing, as I said in my complaint again and again, my actions were out of benevolence. I did them after the round was completed where no harm could be done, where my actions could not alter the game-play of the round. I no-clipped into the ship after the explosion, after the round was essentially completed, and after there was any chance of me assisting either side (humans or zombies). None of this was thoroughly addressed by the AOs in my complaint: why? My actions during that escape round made no difference in the ending results besides the finishing title screen of “Humans Win” to Zombies Win.” Likewise, I also want to emphasize that my actions were well-received by the large majority of the playerbase but was far less abusive than what Paul did during early October. How are my actions truly abuse if they did not affect the overall game-play and outcome of the round? I also want to mention Potshot and his earlier situation (http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26599 and http://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26565&highlight=Potshot ). I won’t really link everything, but our situations share one major similarity that is distinct from Paul’s complaint: Potshot and I were making the server fun, doing what we did so our fellow players’ could have an opportune chance to laugh. We did what we did so that we could provide reason for others to return to SG servers with less fear of people being jerks. And unlike Paul, Potshot and I did what we did for everyone else, not for ourselves; we did what we did for the server, not to satisfy our own boredom or self-interests. What Potshot and I did was indirectly done for this community. Like Potshot, I form these demands: (1) My second admin strike be revoked and erased from my record, and (2) the integrity of some the administrators of this community be re-evaluated. In conclusion, my second admin strike was unjustly given. The decision was influenced by personal bias, making the decision unjustifiable and questionable. Additionally, other administrators have received little or no punishment even though they committed much worse “crimes” than I did, my primary example being Paul. But unlike Paul, what I did was after the game-play of the round (and with benevolent intent), therefore meaning that I did not affect any game-play (which also means my actions are undeserving of a strike and cannot truly be called “abuse”). Also, like Potshot, my actions were not selfish and were for our fellow players, not for self-entertainment. I would also like to mention, in concurrence with Potshot’s earlier problem, that this should neither be ignored nor moved. I, myself, am getting tired of the constant political silliness that has grown in this community over the past years. If the higher-ups of this community cannot allow the general population to see my opinion, then can we really call this organization a community?
  18. I know.. but I don't think I should've gotten this second strike. The first one is too far in the past, so I'm letting it go. But I want to fight for this second strike to be appealed and taken off my record.

Any seggestions? Willl you back me up?

  19. They gave me another strike. I now have two and I got the first one for the same, general reason: I was blinding people (on funtastic, in March) who wanted to be blinded (I was punished because I apparently can't blind people by their own, personal request)

Still though, is there someway I can appeal this decision? Because, personally, I feel this is kind of bulls***. It was obvious that Daze was set on his decision no matter what actually happened.

(By the way, the following message is not for Lux, only for the AOs and above who look at this conversation: if either of us get punished for sharing our opinions, then that's only hypocritical. You tell us this is a free community and can share our opinions, so don't break your own rules please)

  20. Hey, Shadow. Didn't I see you just yesterday in Mutiny?

Anyways, long time no see, man! How has life been treating you?

  21. I'm actually still alive. I'm not dead. Life is still busy. If anyone's up for L4D2 though, I'll be set for an hour on that Tuesday. If you're really that interested in seeing me, ask Hazard for more information on when/where/etc. No need to flame. I just felt the necessity to make a topic; it's been awhile.
