The chance to +1 again makes me...

I remember doing a time-management activity in school last year. Apparently, the average time—or, at least, the average time that people admitted to—while taking a shower for the guys alone was 20min, which boggles my mind. Your mileage may vary depending on where you live and individual choices, but that's pretty ridiculous; I could never take a shower that long myself, even after hard workouts where a hot shower's nice. I'd hate to imagine what the girls' results were. I myself will never go beyond 10 minutes, though I typically shower for 5-7 minutes. How about you? How long do you often take a shower for?

I can play that game too where I find quotes of people approving my contributions: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 How is that my only objective? You've admitted in this thread to your intent of this thread: to troll. If trolling is "only for rage", then I assume you mean that you're either trying to make people rage or trying to rage against others. If the former, then there are others who've trolled/derailed this thread to an extent who're not myself. Re-read. And I do the same. Looks like we're not that different. You still haven't explained how this thread is meaningful. Knowing that, I've already said you and I are trolls; I've already said that you and I are both to blame. Have I also not already admitted to my hypocrisy? Of course it's hypocritical to troll a trolling thread. But, you're right: it's bad to troll someone who's already trolling. What gave me the right? The moment at which you admitted to the fact that this thread is meant to troll gave me the right. The moment at which you admitted to "successful troll is successful" gave me the right. I continue to say that you and I are in the same boat; you deny such. I have as much right as you. When have I claimed otherwise? When have I claimed that my posts are more worthy? Why do many people on these forums consider us to both be stupid/controversial/trolls? Moreover, you didn't answer the question. Don't beat around the bush. Since you're incapable of detecting noun phrases, allow me to re-write with colors representing the different grammatical constituents of the sentence: You saying my shit's stupid while you making this thread is pretty humorous. Red = subject, orange = copula, green = predicate. I'll even re-write the subject: saying my shit's stupid while also making at the same time a thread which purposefully trolls. The "saying" is a gerund, making following words a noun phrase until the copula. Why did I respond? For the same reason you continue to respond to me. Besides, who says that wasn't the first thing that came to your mind as well? Typically, people get defensive when criticized on any level. Looks like you're getting defensive. There's also a difference between butthurt retorts and trollings. I'm responding because I think you're a stupid troll (and you think the same, I assume). When Psyche trolls me, is he butthurt? Or is he responding to me because he thinks I'm stupid? Think about it. So you're going to use the "he started it" excuse? Really? And I can use that justification too: "I know people will laugh at my responses and lul even though others won't lul, so I'm a cool kid." Yeah, that rationale's flawed. Wait, what? No one else has bashed or derailed this thread whatsoever? Really? Ok. Look at the bottom of this post for quotes. Also: When have I pretended to be a white knight? When have I pretended to be better than you? It seems you're also trying to gain "the higher ground" over me. You're doing the same thing I'm doing, but with less words. Seriously, stop trying to deny that. And how are you not? I have no concept of how to retain my acts? Yeah, okay. That's coming from the guy who blatantly tried to buy hacks and who calls people stupid when he doesn't understand them. I'm not mad. This is the internet, after all. I'll even pull inspiration from Mick: Gangs are totally afraid of me and my 5mm, and my pillow's so far away from cold that it's on fire. That excuse is as good as yours. How do you troll these forums beyond those two personally-admitted exceptions? Ok. I ask you the same thing with the same limitations: when have I trolled when not replying to people like you (or Mick) and when not in the off-topic forums? It would appear that you and I troll nearly as much as the other. How about we both grow up and you talk to me through PMs? I've never said that I'm better than you and, even if I would have, I'd have no grounds for such since I'm trolling this thread as much as you're trolling this forum. Thus, there's no reason to continue here unless you want to start another argument. Shall we both mature and take this to private messaging? Your choice. By the way, I must ask again: why do you continually put blame on me and take no blame yourself? You seem to be under the idea that you're no problem for these forums on any level. --- Others who have (slightly) bashed/derailed this thread who're not me: 1 2 3 4 -

You didn't post this thread just for the sake of posting? How many are finding this funny other than you? Please explain to me how this thread offers anything productive. After all, nearly your whole argument is that I write pointless stuff and you don't. How is that? How is this thread meaningful? Is it not for self-entertainment? Geez, that sounds like what any troll does: do things for self-entertainment while disregarding others. I'll play at your game then: you say what I post isn't funny? There are as many people who think you're funny as there are for me. How did I not edit the quote to make it more meaningful? Do enlighten me. Who gives you the divine authority to say everything I contribute is shit while everything you contribute is good, meaningful, and productive? You saying my shit's stupid while you making this thread is pretty humorous. Re-check your arguments, bud. If I'm so butthurt and you're not, why do you continue to reply to me? If I'm so insignificant and stupid and a troll, why do you bother to come back at me? Why don't you ignore me? Moreover, why do you call me a troll when others have "derailed" this thread too? You were obviously expecting a reaction and this is what you got, so be quiet. This is like that other thread: you bash people who don't reply to your threads with posts that are approved by your own standards. Grow up. I post things that are as relevant as the thread itself: if the thread's legitimate, then I'll reply with a legitimate post; if the thread's trolling or has nothing productive to offer, then I reciprocate. You and I (and all of us, for that matter) are both trolls to unique extents. Stop trying to avoid criticism and call me the troll when we're both to blame. Why do you think higher-ups smack us both down? I'm tired of repeating myself. If you want to troll these forums, I'm going to troll this thread. It's fair game, so don't get so butthurt yourself. --- Edit: This smiley doesn't do enough justice, but I'll post it again. -

Wait, so you're proud of this? You're proud of trolling? --- This is my reply to you and this thread. You, sir, drip in hypocrisy more than I. I made a few edits so it was more applicable to this situation. Bite me. -
In my experience with doing bootcamp-like activities, there is so much that I've done. I'll list the typical three which I use, and if you'd like more, PM me: Equipment Whistles Airhorns Metal trashcans Wooden/Metal "sticks". Wooden is better because, in my experiments, it's louder on metal than metal on metal. Also, the "sticks" don't have to actually be sticks; they could be (wooden) ladles or (wooden) broom sticks or whatever. Very, very, very good earplugs. Instructions Get as many fellow drill sergeants as possible. The more the merrier! You can mix-and-match however you'd like, but I often will pair whistles+airhorns and trashcan+stick. So, each DS should have either a whistle with airhorn or trashcan with stick. But it's whatever floats your boat, really. When ready, have all DSs put on earplugs and, when all earplugs are in, sound off at the same time (which is crucial for good effect), otherwise it'll sound disjointed and not be as good if everyone sounded together. Sound off for as long as you like because, to them, even 10sec will seem like an eternity. Blow those whistles loudly with all might. Use the airhorns for as reasonably possible. Bang those trashcans like your life depends on it. Make sure the folks in charge of "trashcan duty" are shouting like mad while banging. "One needs noise and confusion and jolting, not sissy intimidation." If there are any 'stragglers', blow the whistles and airhorns in their face (so they don't lose their earing too badly), shout at them to hurry, and make sure they get the point (if they don't by that point, they're stupid as hell). If people still ignore you (meaning, they're still in bed or yawning), shake them a little bit. Not too much since you don't want to hurt them, but enough to jolt them. Hope this helps. I can provide more ideas if you wish. Just remember: that strategy saved several poor cadets from "dying" during a practice fire drill

You're a Kansan at heart, aren't you? -
Hi, As I've already ranted in this thread, I'm a native Californian who had to move to Kansas because of a parent's job. I'll lay down the basic foundation here. First, most (not all) Kansans whom I've met are so conservative that they really are only slightly better than the Westboro Baptist Church, which resides in Topeka by the way. Second, most Kansans whom I've met are so "patriotic" that they're totally okay with deporting/interrogating/torturing/killing immigrants while working with or hiring illegal immigrants, and that they legitimately ask with full seriousness "Why don't we just drop an atom bomb onto the Taliban?" or "What's wrong with [mass-]killing civilians? We have to kill the Taliban somehow, don't we?" Third, most Kansans whom I've met almost religiously listen to and believe Rush Limbaugh. Do I need to continue?

Having unfortunately lived in Kansas for the past five-six years, I've grown accustomed to cold weather. Typically, my family and I go back every summer, but last year we went during winter break. What did I see? Long-sleeve shirts, sweaters, sweat suits, and gloves while it was 60-70°F and while I was wearing short-sleeve shirts and shorts. I seriously got weird looks from people as if they were saying, "What the heck are you wearing? Don't you know it's chilly outside?" One sad fact about my homestate..
-
Y'know what? You and I could seriously go back and forth on this. Unless you really want to continue (via PM!), I'll just stop. At this point, the whole thing's somewhat moot; each state has pros and cons, and opinions will probably continue to conflict. That said, I offer this as a friendly gesture: Also: I didn't know your views, so that's another fault of mine. Apparently, you and I think alike more than I thought. Thankfully, right? By the way, since you are more "left" than I thought, can you at least explain to me why folks there still love Dixie? I've never understood. :/ [/end debate]

Meh. There're many reasons for why that's going on. But I guarantee that, if the immigration problems were worked out, things would be better. There're far too many resources being wasted on that topic, and I wish a decision would just be made. Until then, yeah, the housing isn't great. But case in point, my argument here is that California's been historically more innovative; at least we're trying ideas that will help out and work. I know there's more innovation and research in California than in Mississippi or South Carolina. It's more than what NC and others are doing. But, at the point, you and I need to define what constitutes "a lot"; to me, when other states are having a harder time to push gay rights through state legislature while California has had higher success, that's accomplishing more. Legalizing marijuana is a bit touchy, but only because it'd be conflicting with federal law. Why couldn't federal law change? Furthermore, read this and this (I'll admit those sources aren't PhD-valid, but there's worthy of being brought up). My point on the high-speed rail wasn't that the South lacks it. My point was that California was the first to introduce the idea. SEHSR got its idea from somewhere. When did I mention hybrid cars? I was talking about solar panels on roofs, or hydro-electric dams, or hydro-powered cards, or (which are just some of the many examples). Furthermore, isn't the needed electricity for a typical hybrid cheaper than if one was the buy gas? Don't assume I was taking about cars; there are many more places where alternative energies are quite applicable and could make a significant different. Fair enough. How's the South doing in that regard? Not only that, but if California treats businesses in a way that's less favorable than other states, why haven't Facebook and Google and Pixar moved? Why has no major international corporation settled in NC? If I'm wrong, please provide an example. For one, the Wright Brothers didn't operate in North Carolina after Kittyhawk. Yes, the first operational Wright Flyer was in North Carolina, but then again, location is location. NC had nothing to do with the Wrights' success. They worked in Ohio and elsewhere in the nation; you can't grab their credit because of one successful flight test. Furthermore, I can honestly play that game too: Steve Jobs made the first personal computer in California; Charles P. Ginsburg developed the first practical videotape recorder in California; the Rocket Chemical Company of San Diego, California invented WD-40; Theodore Harold Maiman made the first working laser; and so on. Seriously, inventions made in one's Sate don't make that state better by an means. Yeah, okay. And I've only talked about California. What about the other "North" states? What about New York and Massachusetts and Pennsylvania? I can play that game with the other. As far the Civil War is concerned, what the fuck? That's a little hypocritical, isn't it? My views have nothing to do with the Civil War or redneck stereotypes. No, my issue isn't with "the stupid rednecks down there". My issue is with the conservative opinion. Don't call me ignorant when you yourself assumed that I had a stereotype. I live in Kansas as a Californian for fuck's sake; I have plenty of experience with the overall GOP/conservative mindset. Though, thank God you don't listen to Rush Limbaugh like some people around where I live (or do you? :[ ). Moreover, I never said that the South was useless, did I? No, I said that, in my opinion, California has been historically more innovative. When did I ever say that people from the South are unintelligible, incapable, and have nothing to offer? When I responded to Drox by saying that the South (not California) was "everything wrong with this country", I meant this: it's that very attitude which makes the South shitty. I hear almost all the time for people around me how evil the government is and how terrible the president is. Guess who put us into the position that Obama's trying to dig us out of? Who keeps filibuster-ing everything the other party does so that little to no progress is never made? Who keeps playing the blame game and never takes blame themself? Who keeps demanding plans be made to fix the problems but offers little to no practical plans themself? Who thinks the world can fuck off because it's all about America? The GOP. Ohshi— † You criticize how I'm too prideful. If you weren't proud to be Southern, then why you spend the time to respond? You're just as guilty as I am in regard to being proud of your homestate, so you're on the same high horse. In each of our opinions, the general public opinion of each other's state is "ass backward". For example, I don't understand why people want to lower taxes so significantly when that would only strain our government more; on the other hand, you don't see why homosexuals should have the right to marry, so I guess you and I can agree to disagree. How many military bases does California have? How many Californians have I met—including myself—who greatly support our troops? --- † If you're not GOP, then I understand and apologize. But, like how you assume I think all Southerners are rednecks, I assume you support the GOP.
-
So I'm curious: what does mean something? What's important to you? I'm somewhat surprised that you don't care about money efficiency in transportation, alternative energy, environmental affairs, etc. --- On-Topic: It amazes me how everyone from the South likes Southeastern and Southwestern (minus California) states whereas everyone from elsewhere mostly dislikes states that're from the Southeast and Southwest (minus California).
-
...says the guy who himself continues to reply to me. You just posted something as relevant for this thread as the post you criticize. Hypocrite. --- How are gay rights and legalization/taxation of marijuana not productive? I see many benefits of both. I mean, if you think homosexuals are an abomination to God, then your argument is biased. As for marijuana, have you seen how many fewer deaths there are for marijuana than alcohol? What exactly is wrong with legalizing and taxing marijuana? California is leading the nation in transportation innovation. For example, California is the first (and I believe it's the only, unless things have changed recently) state to initiate building an intrastate high-speed rail system that would greatly save money in public transportation once it's finished (yes, all plans have the disadvantage of not paying back until a little later; get over it). California is at the alternative energy forefront on the state and national levels, which is something much of the South hasn't embraced nearly as much as many other states because they still prefer their good ol' SUVs. California is one of the leading states in environmental recovery and safety. With several others, California is working to establish, protect, and preserve national parks. It's also working harder to recycle and reduce waste than many Southern states to my knowledge. Many modern companies reside in California for a reason. After all, why would Facebook, Google, Pixar, Disney, etc. be located each in California? I can continue if you wish; there's much more that I can mention. These were just some quick examples off the top of my head. So, my immediate two questions are: 1) Has any state in the South done nearly as much as this? Or, for that matter, has the South even considered doing any of the above? Ever? 2) Every time I've done to either of the Carolinas, I encounter so many Dixie flags. When I've talked with native folks from either Carolina, many have told me that Dixie comes fist before Big Brother. Why is that? Perhaps that doesn't apply to you (and I'm sure it doesn't), but how can someone call their state better when a pretty decent majority fights against much of the rest of the nation? --- The whole argument of "my state is better than yours" is pretty silly. Can we please take this to PMs?
