So it's rolling and I'll gladly jump on-board! I didn't really count on doing this just yet, but figuring Amit is backing out this moment couldn't have been any more perfect. I joined the forums in '08 and started frequenting the servers in '07.. I have really been good at any of our game(modes), I've never really been that active on vent, I've never been that cool kid - yet I've managed to make some of the best friends because of SG. I know who everyone is and I believe that most people know who I am. This post is hard to write as I've had all my online fun here for the past 4 years.. @ Garf - When you took over SG it was with a bit bitter taste in my mouth as I honestly didn't believe you would be the best for SG. But so be it - you were the one with the cash and promised that stuff still would function... I could've seen better choices though - maybe because I didn't know you personally.. Your venture with SG has been slow and you've only done anything when you had to say 'no'.. I don't know how many threads I've seen closed with a comment by you saying 'Not gonna happen' or similar.. As a CA I believe I did all the work I could along with the rest of the CAs. We actually had something to do with those applicants we had! The history about that can be read in numerous other threads as of the latest days - lets end my CA comments here. As I had the chance to become MA (even though Ngo warning me not to - wonder why) I took it and me and Itch did what you wanted us to.. We created you a lovely Tell-A-Friend system that, in your words, would bring in 100's of new people.. Total referred: 1 - oh who you said was someone else doing a double-account so we removed him.. Updated total: 0.. Really great you saw that as the primary focus.. I've done what you've asked me to - even without getting any information.. I've discussed back and forth with Amit, and I am sorry if I got you to not buy SG, Amit.. It was never meant that way, but again, that is your decision.. Even if you choose to go back in and buy it, I will still resign this post.. I think it smells.. An old saying goes 'If you don't like the smell in the bakery - buy your bread elsewhere'.. Amazing that it took 9 pages before this comment came.. I know both me and Saxe has pure positive thoughts about Amit & Co. - this was purely hypothetical topic!! Saxe listed 3 concerns in OP that it could run under IF (big IF!!) Garf had offered the community to share stocks or group together as investors.. To all of the 'give those guys a chance'-haturrrs... No one is protesting against Amit and his crew.. As stated in almost every post about this matter it is the whole situation! Getting a fair chance of deciding the faith of SG is what's up here.. If, 2 months ago, Garfield would've asked us all if we wanted to split the price up in equal shares or else he would sell it to Amit.. What do you think we would've come up with? Amit seems like a cool guy, no doubt! He is friendly, concerned and understanding.. I don't think there are no one here hating on you or on you buying SG.. We just want a chance to get a part of the cake, you know.. 'Hey kids, I invited the neighbour over for icecream - go mow the lawn meanwhile!' .. No thanks..

Who the license would go to is pure formalia at this point. No, we might not still be SG - you should never say never, but chances are (also from what I've heard from Amit) that we're gonna go big and venture out on new games or maybe even platforms.. Is that SG? Drastic and major changes like that? Not saying it is gonna go bad or wrong, just saying that that it's not SG! What do we do these days if we cant afford the servers? Cut them? Yes! Not long ago we had 2 dedicated servers - now we have 1 because our popularity and our wallet wasn't big enough for it! In case that SG reaches a really tough financial state, people are actually really really great at tipping in what is needed.. Neither do I.. I sincerely hope that they won't screw up.. We will be able to do our own decisions in such a measure that it won't interfere with their business plan.. But wait, business plan? That's not normally something SG runs by! Yes, we are the players behind a fantastic brand as it is now.. By, as stated above, venturing out on other gaming adventures we won't be those players.. If future-SG reaches 50k members the original 1000 people will only be those that laid the bricks of what branded SG - not any major source of income.. Also, honestly, I don't believe that they will just throw money in this and not getting anything out of it.. So whether or not they take over the control here, we will have to pay for the upkeep of the servers... If not - they're Harry Potter.. Indeed everything has to be thought through.. In general we're a loving, debating and clever society - we don't jump to conclusions of selling SG to some guys that hasn't used steam before (no offence, Amit).. Funny.. I could've sworn it's easier to prevent a fire than to put one out..... Also, no offence to Amit and his crew or you Bob.. Just stating the obv .. I mean .. an alternate point of view..
