  1. I uh... hm. That's probably not a good mindset to have. Anyway, I had some initial reservations around forcing ratio to be 1:2 as we have certain edge cases like razor where a CT-skewed 1:2 ratio would make more sense as the map is heavily T-sided. However, seeing as the initial suggestion was modified to enforce a 2:3 ratio at minimum, I think this plugin is a great idea considering we can catch the edge cases where it's clear the ratio is out of control no matter the map. Will push this to the team for more discussion.

Personally I don't see a problem with allowing spectators to talk with dead people through strictly text chat. @Manny @Dominic
  4. This is a decent suggestion, but it doesn't really address the root problem of people not wanting to play CT. With servers like ours you have times where there are too many CTs and times where there are too few CTs. It's up to the players to control the ratio and keep it at roughly 1:2 unless an admin is able to step in. Buffing CTs by giving them variable amounts of extra HP wouldn't make much of a difference if the ratio is heavily 1-sided. It's less about the health of the CTs but rather the number of CTs on a team; the more CTs you have the more eyes you have watching over the Ts to close off more opportunities for them to rebel. Having 4 health-buffed CTs against 17 Ts would be far less effective than the regular balance of 7 CTs and 14 Ts because regardless of the extra HP given, you need more CTs to watch secrets and enforce orders in order to be effective. With that in mind, it would probably be more effective to find a way to encourage people to play CT and keep the ratio balanced. I don't really see this idea as an effective way to balance an unfair ratio.

  13. On top of reconsidering the points you get for defusing a bomb, we should also consider giving points for wins and substracting points for losses. You win as a team and you lose as a team... this would encourage more people to actually go for objective as opposed to waiting until their teammates try.
  14. When did you switch it? The bug re-occurred at around 11:45PM EDT today when we finished de_dust2 and tried to go to de_mirage. If you look through logs, look for Cept and Dominic changing the map to mirage manually.

  16. As pointed out by @Kyle, for 7+ rounds in a row now we've had the ratio be 4 Ts vs. 3 CTs. This ratio heavily favors the Ts and I haven't seen any other server do this. Not that it's bad to do things against the norm, but I don't really see a reason for this ratio as it's extremely difficult for the CTs to win and doesn't really make sense to have this ratio for this many rounds in a row. Usually it's 4 CTs vs. 3 Ts..
  17. When a map is RTV'd the map switches back to the same map without actually going to the map that was voted for. I know @Cept For Her and @Manny are aware of the issue but I figured I'd make this thread as a paper trail so this issue doesn't get lost.
  18. We have !raffle in the server name but don't have the raffle plugin installed on the retakes server... either !raffle needs to go or the plugin should be installed . Also, similar to how scrim says how many people are needed to start the game, we could also use the same plugin for retakes. When people sit in spec without joining queue, people take a look at the 10/10 slot count and think the server is full of people playing when in reality we have slots to fill. This plugin/feature would solve this issue.

  21. A minor suggestion. At the moment if you die in an explosion you don't get an extra death. Certain players have been abusing this to bait their entire team and not go for objective if there's even the slightest indication they may lose to protect their KD. It may help solve the problem to make deaths to bomb count in their KD.

Assist - 1 point Kill - 2 point Exploding the bomb (team) - 2 points Defusing the bomb (team) - 2 points Player defusing the bomb - 4 points Seems like a lot of points for a single player to receive (2+4=6) for just defusing a bomb, considering there's no T-side points for planting a bomb. Defusing a bomb doesn't really warrant 6 points just for a single action tbh. We may want to reconsider these extra 4 points because it encourages baiting to be the last CT alive to defuse.

Stemming off a conversation on TS with @Cept For Her and @Manny - I strongly feel that the Retakes server should disable friendly fire with the exception of molotovs. Right now there is no team damage, period, but having friendly fire off for molotovs means you can molotov a choke point and your teammates can push through it without repurcussion. This is the same logic that was used to enable friendly fire for molotovs on scrim - retakes was meant to simulate retake scenarios in actual competitive play. Being able to push through your teammates' molotovs is not competitive in the slightest. Please reconsider your stance on this .
