  1. The use of more RAM isn't a bad thing. It just means more is preloaded into the memory cache and readily available for use. I can launch iTunes as quickly as I can open the start menu. The use of RAN is also determined by how much you have. My laptop with 2GB idles around 900MB and my desktop with 4GB idles around 1.4GB Like Red said, if your computer can handle it Vista is fine. Either way they're both good OS's. If you're going the 64bit route Vista is the way to go. 64bit XP never matured into what the Vista version is. All of the drivers you'll need are readily available today, something that was lacking at launch and caused the wide "Vista sucks" bandwagon. If you can't find the driver, you're running hardware that's seriously outdated anyway. As far as games, Vista x64 supposedly performs slightly better when running modern games. It can sometimes be troublesome to get older games running, but I've yet to find a workaround through compatibility mode. This guy is proof that you can game using Vista X64 406+ games
  2. My new Comp

You said it yourself it's the same CPU and they're both made by Intel, so how is the brand any different? Intel chip Intel quality. They don't treat home and server consumers any different. The x3110 runs on slightly less voltage so it produces less heat in a server environment, which is not a big deal when it's just one home PC. With that being said the e8400 runs slightly faster in normal everyday use. There is no significant difference in them. It's either .0** less volts with the x3110 or a >3% improvement with the e8400.
  3. You should have been more specific with your question. Is sheet music allowed? If thats the case almost anything on guitar or saxophone and low to possibly mid level stuff on woodwinds and piano.
  4. Another vouch for plenty of menial jobs in South Florida. Only thing is a lot of homeless people are mentally ill. Too tired to pull the numbers, but a good amount of them are. Either way, I don't mind the government pulling them out of those areas. There are plenty of other places to go. Let's send them to California, South Park style.
  5. I agree, there's no way an old card engine is going to be getting 20mpg. Even 4-bangers with carbs have trouble maintaining 18mpg.
  6. Whatever... my tres leche is shopping your shit up.
  7. Stupid outer wall :cursing:
  8. Lol, that actually came our pretty good. Too bad it's a poor choice of tattoo. "Check it out dudes. I got Tay on my arm and he's stepping away from the mic to breathe." :001_unsure:
  9. My new Comp

Not bad, but what made you decide to go with the Xeon version of the e8400 and that motherboard? I think you could've done better for less, but overall it's still a powerful machine.
  10. My ping isn't as great as some of yours, but still pretty good speed.
  11. two sets of headphones came in today
  12. New Update: Firefox 3 Beta 5
  13. It's supposed to be creepy.
  14. I hated speech not because of getting up in front of the class, but because of trying to figure out stuff to talk about. I'm a minimalist and I try to get my point across with the least amount of words so that I don't bore people and having time to fill sucked for me. I hated the crap some people pushed out as filler time.
  15. Meh, public speaking is not that big of a deal. I get more nervous in 1 on 1 interviews, but I never let it show. With that many people I don't even pay attention and just stare into the space in front of me while words come out of my mouth. Just make sure you know it well enough and you'd be surprised at how simple it is.
  16. That along with psychology.
  17. Make a movie

    This thread delivers
  18. :thumbup1: Happy Birthday!!! :thumbup1:
  19. ^^^ what he said. Public universities in Florida are very inexpensive for residents. Schools can be anywhere between $2000-$6000 per semester for 16 credit hours. Toss in $500 per semester for books and another $500 for whatever health, facility and lab fees they charge and you're looking at $3000-$7000 per semester. At most $17,500 per year if you include 8 hours in the summer. Food and board is really up to you.
  20. 2008 and chongas still exist  Lol @ your professor. Good for him :001_smile:
  21. I put my order in along with BF2. We'll see how things go and if there's enough support a server might be a possibility.
  22. Beautiful baby and great choice of name. Always been on my top list.
  23. Neat Robot

It is noisy, but that's because it is a research project. Whatever the military puts out will be a lot more expensive and be pieced together with different technologies, not just some noisy engine that sounds worse than an gas trimmer. It is pretty cool though.
  24. that was great. That video single handedly saved this thread. Legal set this up just how he wanted it. Just how long where you hanging onto this joke for?
