  2. I haven't closely examined each and every post in this thread but I'm going to sort of summarize what I said to @Manny. We have different view points on this and I think seeing what other people have to say is useful, but a majority of the people in this thread are way off track with their arguments against it, in my opinion. If Manny wants to make a post he can, but it seems like the people that want the command sort of have their bases covered in terms of why. The main problem I have with anything like this is the advantage it gives to Ts. If a bunch of Ts are covering a CT, a T can just use the /hide command to see through them. Additionally, if the Ts are covering my sight of a gun, I can use the command to easily see where I need to go to get it. A big example I could think of for utilizing a command like this is being packed into isolation and not being able to see outside when you have a gun. That is my main concern and is very concerning to me, considering the fact that we are already suffering from a large T side advantage on our server. I completely understand the benefit of this command when it comes to doing death-games. However, we hardly use death-games on our server, so why add this command at all? We'd be taking the risk of it furthering our balancing issue in regards to round wins while getting a small benefit for the few times we do death-games. I can also understand why other servers need this command. I've played every other popular Jailbreak servers, they do death-games with 25-30 Ts and sometimes even more, because they don't have the same restrictions as us. I can see why you would absolutely need the command for a situation like that - but we do our death-games with maybe, if you're lucky, around 8-10 Ts. At that point, will the command help all that much? Everyone talking about it affecting a person's ability to follow orders isn't necessarily wrong. However, it's their decision to do that, just like with anything else. If I block communications on a CT who's giving orders and I die as a result, that's my fault. While this remains true, I did make the argument that despite it being their fault, it could still lead to unnecessary rage quits and such. So could anything though, so it's not as if it'd be alone in that regard. However, not having it all could avoid a lot of conflict, like unnecessary freekill complaints. Another legitimate concern is what bugs and exploits may come with this. Like any other plugin, we can work to fix them. It's inevitably going to happen though, so it's another thing to consider when asking yourself "is it worth what we're getting". You also have to realize that you guys all might have different ideas of how the plugin would work and you can try to think of new ones and put it up for discussion. Zombie Escape currently runs a plugin similar to this (shown to me by @Polarzz) that only shows the skeletons of models instead of the full model, which increases FPS (so I've heard) but doesn't make people completely invisible. Some of you may want it this way or some of you may want them completely gone. Additionally, you can consider restrictions such as a minute cooldown after use or perhaps the command will only last 30 seconds. There's a ton of different ways that the plugin could potentially operate and you have to consider the fact that you might not have the same idea in mind as others. Also as a note, I completely agree that we do not need to be carbon copies of other servers. However, there are some really good things to take from other servers. Oftentimes I will literally spend hours on other popular Jailbreak servers taking notes for new ideas. Do they need to be exact copies of plugins? No, but taking inspiration from servers, especially ones doing better than us, is not a bad thing. Saying "we don't need to copy other servers" in response to "other servers have this" is not a solid argument in the slightest and I would really encourage you guys to stay open-minded about any suggestion that gets brought up. We may not do something now, but we may do it in the future. A few years ago, people denied death-games on SG anytime they were suggested, and now we allow them. I highly encourage you guys to continue discussion and I really appreciate the fact that you guys are having such a beneficial one at that. I just wanted to give you my thoughts (meaning this is all my opinion and this idea is not rejected at all) and also some notes for current and future discussion.
  3. An "off mic" plugin is not currently in development. Any mention of it in those past threads have just been ideas and thoughts and it wasn't being made at any point. We're currently fleshing out the idea of it at the CA level, but we haven't even decided to actually implement anything like it yet. However, if we did make the decision anytime soon that we absolutely wanted to do it, it'd need much more time to be fleshed out as it could bring just as many negatives as positives.
  4. KenjiOnline, Fridthiof and shøts have all been permanently banned for racism and trolling in general. They clearly have something against SG and have no plans to play here with good intent, so there's no point in keeping them around. If you don't want to be here, just leave. There's no point in coming back just to make yourself look like a clown.
  5. Our main man big schnookums (All Ts) has been permanently banned for not being nice.
  6. It's perfectly fine for a CA to go through and respond to suggestions giving reassurance to people that their suggestions are being looked into, especially considering I was consulted for each and every one of them. Thanks for the suggestion though, we appreciate it!
  7. Just so long as they follow our forum rules.
  8. That system is no longer in place, so there's no need to fix the command, if it's still even there. Thanks for the suggestion.
  9. SG App

Not something we'll be doing right now. The Google Chrome app makes using the forums fine for me though. Thanks for the suggestion.
  10. Different situations call for different punishments. We can't make a guide telling you what's worthy of a ban and what isn't, because there's so many different factors. You can use your own judgement to determine whether or not you should report somebody, but ultimately it will come down to the CA+ who does your complaint. This isn't something we'll be doing, thanks for the suggestion though.
  11. ^ You can view every store item there is in that thread, so you can decide before you buy it.
  12. The new forums are on their way, so this isn't something we'd implement right now. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  13. When we release the new forums, we can consider adding an easier way to find all the application forms. However, for now, our main man @roux has made a thread in the Admin Application section linking all the application forms for each team. That thread can be found here. Thanks for the suggestion.
  14. Yeah because you weren't invited you fucking loser.
  15. Welcome back, Rain.
  16. The managers and I have all agreed to leave this how it is. We have a voting system on the server, not a set rotation, the maps aren't getting overplayed because we're forcing them onto people, they're getting overplayed because there's overwhelming support for them. Those maps have tons of time played on the server and are among our most popular ones, we don't want to force people to play less popular maps. Also a quick PSA / reminder that passive aggressive behavior / speech does not get you anywhere. It doesn't make us feel more inclined to listen to you, just makes you look like an asshole. Feel free to PM me or another manager if you'd like to discuss this further.
  17. Grenades can be used as warning shots, as can knives. A warning "shot" is just any damage dealt by a CT between 1-99 damage, they can use any means to do so. Invisible buttons are KOS, pressing the invisible button in big cage or isolation on razor makes you KOS.

  19. Little less than a week left for this.
  20. I did not expect to enjoy watching a video from Jailbreak, but that was genuinely entertaining. Really good video.
  21. In addition to the above, Malibu has also been banned for 7 days for harassment.
  22. The map was removed because it was crashing the server. Since then, we haven't tried re-adding it. Even if it doesn't work, we can try adding an older version of the map and see how that goes. It's something we'll do, but just not something we're prioritizing. You can send your "cry of plea" to thorgot in private though.
  23. You can go to our Stats page at the top, click on Jailbreak, then click Maps and sort by time played. There's been three versions of your map on the server and together they have ~8 hours played so far.
  24. When the death-game is forced, you aren't allowed to spray the Ts down, as per the rule Gentoo stated. When the death-game is voluntary, you can gun them down as soon as they fall into the water.
  25. It's coming up on three years since that post has been edited, so I'm quite doubtful. Obviously if you still want to reach out to the guy, feel free to do so.
