  1. Having a consistent survival server was attempted multiple times and always worked great at the start, but never really lasted too long. Pop would be awesome for a month or so then it would die and just sit. Minecraft servers at least here are better for one-off events or like a MGT. If you also mean "good on paper" as a way to grow the community, the market of survival servers isn't exactly fantastic for gaining random people, I'm also not sure how much interest there actually is in consistently playing a MC server.
  2. I stand close to my original opinion. I can listen to Go2DaMoon, M3tamorphasis, Sky, and ILoveuIHateu. The rest of the album is really unpleasant to me. I dislike it, I really don't like the slurring of words together and I think a majority of the beats are really just not enjoyable. Vamp Anthem literally makes me laugh how bad it is.
  3. For the numerous reasons listed in responses above, we will not be implementing this. It is not too reasonable for players to follow or for admins to enforce. Thank you for the suggestion, but this is rejected.
  4. There are a few big problems with this. 1. It's unreasonable for players- Most people who play JB have silver aim and couldn't control hitting between the thigh and the torso if their life depended on it. If they're using a deagle, imagine the amount of crying if someone got hit for 76+. It's a lot easier to control simply not killing someone as compared to trying to do less than 75 damage. 2. It's unreasonable for admins- This would be the most annoying and persistent thing to enforce. It would feel really stupid yelling at someone for damaging someone for 2 more damage than they are supposed to. Also, I can't really imagine many admins rushing onto JB for rampant too heavy warning shots. I would honestly see that in calladmin chat and laugh. 3. It doesn't bring much effective change- What will this really do? All it does is add more complexity of rules to follow, but you'll still die in 2 shots if you get hit for 51 twice. I understand awp/deagle stomach shots/etc. warning shots are annoying that leave you at 2 hp, but it's really a problem with no solution. I think the fact we allow warning shots is generous enough. Overall, an unneeded change.
  5. Please don't start any unnecessary fights here. Just curious to what religion you guys follow and why you follow it. It's interesting what religions people follow and can be interesting to learn from the teachings of other religions. I personally am a Christian and I was raised Catholic, but have since decided to fall under the "non-denominational" group of Christians because I personally don't follow or like the Catholic church. Thought this may be cool for people to share.
  6. Perhaps I misspoke when I said flagship server, but ZE is still one of the servers SG is/was known for. While the staff has changed and we don't have managers like Wesker, Leon, etc. we still do have staff willing to put work into the server. Not to mention, there still is a fairly large market for ZE servers. 6 of the top 11 CS:GO community servers worldwide are ZE servers. Realistically, the only competition in NA is GFL for ZE servers. I doubt the server will ever reach the heights it did in the past, but there is still potential for the server to do decently well once we actually get a cohesive plan together and act. The staff who have stated their interest in ZE have not really had our schedules align recently to set up a cohesive plan for success, and that's obviously on us. I understand that @EpicFP put together a great thread with lots of statistics and no bias, and I applaud him for that. But I personally think there's a difference between servers that sit dead with no staff support and servers that sit dead with staff willing to support it. There comes a point where the staff effort becomes futile and the server should be shot, but I really am not sure if ZE is there yet. As little as 6 months ago we were getting the server full, even after the little ZE incident that went down. There will come a time where it's ZE's time to go, but I don't think that it's that time yet.
  7. The future of some servers (not going to name which, because it's still a discussion in early phases) are being discussed at a CA+ level as we speak. I will say that much, anything I say below is just my personal opinion. IMO I think we are a little spread thin on terms of support for servers because we have 9 SMs and 14 CAs supporting 19 servers. This spreads us a little thin and can lead to both quick burnout and low support on some servers. But with that in mind, I think I think you're targeting mostly the wrong servers in this thread, and I'll explain my thoughts on each of the ones you mention: Crackhouse I honestly agree with this one. It had a decent amount of hype at launch but hasn't really received much support since then, and has mostly sat at 0 population. Rust Rust is something definitely worth keeping around. The death of our Rust server is actually not even our fault, it was facepunch messing up their server browser and getting a lot of servers taken off it. We would consistently have full Rust servers throughout the wipe before the mess-up happened with the server browser. I believe if we can get lucky even for one wipe, we can get the Rust server at least half of where it was. Scrim I can say with confidence that Scrim isn't going anywhere. It's not really meant to be a server to sustain pop because it's private to SG. It's really great to have for community events or for a fun comp game between a group of friends. It's advertised on the server list to notify our players and (not really realistically) pull in a person or two interested in scrimming for fun against other casual CS players. Zombie Escape No way. ZE is one of our flagship servers and it got this community to where it is today. ZE (as odd as it sounds) has a really high ceiling but also probably the lowest floor of our servers. In Q4 2020, there was a consistent pop on the server, it just takes constant work from staff and regs to get it popping. We've been looking for ways to revive this server and they should come sooner rather than later. TF2 These servers don't really pull players but we do have two active staff members interested in trying a couple of more things with these before we let them go. I'm not a TF2 player, but these servers don't really take up much room on the dedi and we have staff ready and willing to put effort into it. Squad As far as I know, there's not actually meant to be 3 squad servers right now. One of them isn't publicly advertised on the Squad server list, and I think that one was meant to actually be taken down (I think fallujah?), but we are currently in the Squad tournament thing and we have been gaining quite a bit of traction in the Squad discord, so it's something worth keeping an eye on because there is potential. Again, these are just my thoughts though.
  8. Thank you to those who came out! Congratulations to @DabOfGravywho won the tournament! Winners of Mace's part will be contacted soon.

  10. Swag
  11. Sorry for the frequent changes to this event, but one more changelog before the event itself. This event is now simply open to all supporters, meaning no signup is required anymore. As long as you are a supporter rank, please check the supporter chat in Discord at 8pm EST for the IP and password. I will most likely not start the event promptly at 8p, so if you're a few minutes late, no need to panic. Hope to see you guys there sorry for the constant changes, thank you for understanding.
  12. Honestly am unsure of a map to show you your completed maps, that is !profile on bhop, but apparently that's a restricted command on Surf. !nominate is a way to view all maps sorted by tiers.
  13. Reminder that we have just under 24 hours until the event! We only have 4 signed up, so be sure to sign up if you can make it!
  14. Donda listening party. @Greggy G @Reid99
  15. This has been discussed many times over. I personally see no need to make a change about this rule. Giving Ts x amount of time to drop said gun simply will not work, it will make the game extremely unbalanced. Just avoid guns the best you can and hope CTs are understanding.
  16. Grats BoTo, you are absolutely goated good sir
  17. Hey, I ran a quick poll in the supporters chat in Discord, and with the other two in this thread requesting it as well- the event has been pushed back to 8PM EST on the 23rd instead. Please reply below this to enter, hope to see you guys there : )
  18. Shit makes me wanna re-install GTA

  20. Alright, I've gotten the blessing to wrap this up here before this discussion goes on for too long. We've discussed this topic so, so many times over the years and we have always come to the conclusion that we will not be explicitly banning chat orders from being used on CT to be inclusive of players who aren't interested in using their mics or somehow don't own a mic. With this being said, we encourage the use of voice orders over chat orders, and we have systems in place to reduce the prevalence of chat orders such as !fo needing to be a voice order and voice orders taking priority over chat ones. It's 2021 after all so realistically we should be using our mics for clearer communication, but we aren't going to punish someone for not using their mic. Thank you for the suggestion, but I am going to mark this as rejected.
  21. I mean there's a shot that someone might take this up, but from personal experience karaoke nights end up being super awkward because there's always a pretty good turnout and hype, but people get too nervous to sing and it gets awkward. If people actually sing and have fun with it, it can be a great event.
  22. Alright team ZE, time to surge for 2 weeks and peak at rank 100 and make none of this matter. right guys??. ..... right??
  23. We talked this over, we came to the conclusion that we have no interest in adding more colored tracers at this time. Thank you for the suggestion though.
  24. Thank you to everyone that came out! We hope you guys had a great time!
