  1. Your reply to Caution perfect makes sense if you think that the change to the ranks wasn't a spit in the face to a lot of people, and that a ton of people who did a ton of work around that time were kinda fucked from having a recognition rank. Shit happens y'know, sometimes you do something and it doesn't land. I don't think the intention of the team behind it was to chastise people but I think there was definitely some personal shit that got caught in the process. It was always like that to a degree but for the most part I thought it was fair. Before the rework, I stepped down after yelling at Caution in a meeting and the thing was pretty nuts & still got LG. For the record by the way, I am not talking about myself. If I had not gotten myself banned I might have been a VT post-rework if they wanted to do what they did to some others. This is kind of a hot take I suppose, but I think there's some people who have done so much work that they should be an LG or who were such a huge presence that they're fitting of it. SG used to be super rich in character despite being really dramatic as fuck. I'm not going to sit and proactively nominate these people myself, but if we can at the very least admit that in hindsight many people felt they had their time at the community summed up unfairly & judged harshly for a change that didn't really need to be done I think that'd be fair. I'm sure many still do feel that way. Whether they thought they should have LG if they were HG or VT if they were LG or some people who should be LG but are a Regular lol.
  2. SG is on dire straits and seeing a server manager shit on another server, especially one you've supposedly have tried to help just makes me see you as not a person who's very mentally capable or mature, I mean this post you just wrote is so insane itself. It more or less explains why you didn't have success with JB, and with Squad and why you'll probably continue to do so unless you change ur attitude. You came into this thread dead serious as a server manager spouting shit about your generic Squad server, so you invited my comments about it prolly being one of 20000 & how it would be dead in a week. It unironically died in < a week too lol. Servers like that usually do unless the community has good staff & with personality like you ofc it's not doing that well. Getting defensive and thinking I need/care about your huge explanation about the situation of your server when you're still in the Jailbreak section still is great though. You might inspire community members to help, care or get on ur servers if you don't act 12 year old on forums. JB needs more systems on it that layer what you can or should be doing, I made a lot of them conceptually with Dom/Deli/Moonlight & input from the community we had built and they were coded by Liam/Retro. One day if I get the time again to make my ideal version of Jailbreak I literally will go learn SourcePawn myself, get better at Hammer/Vscript & make it. I think that it's super obvious that the stuff that we had put on the server many years ago was not meant to be the way it was forever. I've made threads about this & others have too and generally speaking they were ignored. There was a clear shift in what we were trying to do by blending the deathmatch/freestyle Jailbreak server into something that still paid respect to doing different minigames & trying to lower the amount of administration needed, give new tools for dealing with griefing, automation and so on. This kinda shift kind of just ends though after awhile and a lot of people just manage like what you're doing with Squad where you're pretty much sitting administrating and switching maps, hosting the same odd event here or there. Any manager of JB is always welcome to reach out to me if you wanna chat shit about the server btw. I used to know every JB server from the ground up. I'll always be a fan of the gamemode. Junkie#9287 we cannot run this simulation again
  3. Squad: JB: Tbh JB is kinda popping off in comparison, the numbers do NOT lie. Squad is a dead af game for old people.
  4. You are a cancerfuck and you are shitposting in this thread . Let him have a thread asking about the server. He doesn't have to do anything more than create this thread if he doesn't want to either. He knows the servers is dead and has little to no help left. He created this thread cause he wants to see it do better. Next week when 24/7 INVASION or w.e the fuck loses it's spot in the top 20 on Squad to one of identical thousand servers it would be nice to have JB do well.
  5. Steel seems like he's kind of an expert please cease all productive conversation relating to Jailbreak & CS:GO. This sub is now the property of Squad.
  6. Haha what? These are very cherrypicked points and you're completely taking what I said out of the context skipping completely past things I explained in my post. Secondly, super over aggressive and accusatory for what? No one is impressed, calm down bro. I'm not going to get into an argument with you about these things at risk of completely derailing this thread but there was definitely points where people above AT+ did NOT act in the best interest of the overall ZE community here at SG & I believe it failed where it otherwise could have succeeded. If this is some kind of foreign idea to you that is in no way humanly possible idk what to tell you dude. People aren't infallible and most creative ventures fail. If you want to cope about it & rage by saying I'm anti-management that's good for you dog, I don't care- It is what it is. I've been accused of much worse. It's an unpaid role most often filled by people until 25, you can't expect to get the all-star squad year after year that keeps shit rolling perfectly for a fucking decade. In terms of how long communities have lasted, SG's been around pretty damn long & has outlived many others. At times some of the staff did a kickass job & others did not for all of the common human reasons that any other thing earthly creation would fail. I have given a ton of praise to good iterations of managers & been by there side to support them and this community by putting hundreds if not prolly thousands of hours to help literally do the work myself. I also encouraged us to try to venture from but not abandon CS:GO to diversify in the event that things got rocky. Supported and played on more than many ventures like Garry's Mod and Rust who's community server numbers have been pretty sound & are still pretty good. I have more than enough experience to make these judgements, and if you disagree that's fine but I have reasons & credibility behind what I'm saying. I am literally one of the people who used to harp on the idea that even if a server has failed on other games that it's better to be objective about why it failed than to just say "haha unlucky" and move on forever. There was always past managers coming out of the woodwork with 1800-excuses getting all worked up and offended about it too, it was insane. I will say these things now, and keep it short and this is NOT TO THROW SHADE AT THE MANAGERS OR HIGHER-UPS but because you're making it out like I am just saying something with no evidence or benefit of hindsight. TTT I expressed concerns over it being on a downturn and things that should change & none of those things were done up until recently where the server sits pretty much dead. JB has had almost no major changes to it in a long time, events have been the same rotation since 2018 where the management team I was on left it & the major systems we added around the same time are also pretty much exactly the same. The drama IMO that put the nail in the coffin for ZE at the end could have been handled more mature from everyone involved. There are hella more reasons how these 3 got the way they are, but this is the best way I can sum it up. If you wanna get in deep with me about I'm more than willing to discuss it off of this thread (Junkie#9287). I will earmark this post by also pointing out that the servers you're mentioning (TTT, ZE) were pretty niche to begin with and existed under a pretty few number of servers that were NA based. CS:GO had a shifting popularity & has had a growing popularity of other servers for awhile. Despite that, the main servers that competed alongside us in these 3 categories such as eGo or GFL are still very much alive, holding the highest ranks in CS:GO. It's a bit hard to believe that SG couldn't find some 128 people to fill 3 servers & that the fault lays entirely on NA CS:GO lol. SG could be where eGo is right now, it's not a crazy idea or argument for me to make. There exists a timeline where that reasonably happened. Are there servers that existed alongside us- that sold admin, had shoddy ownership or who's servers were nearly not objectively fun that died? Yeah. I used to go on the other Jailbreak servers and wonder how in the flying fuck they had any players when you get gunned down 5 seconds after cells open & sit afk for 10 minutes waiting for the round to end. I used to wonder the same about the micspam on SG's JB & when we had control of the server we worked to fix that. None of this is any surprise in my opinion- It's harder to run ZE, TTT, JB than to throw a Bhop or Surf server together & call it a day. This isn't some new fangled idea that the preference and populace of the game had shifted alongside that. You could go back & find threads or one-off pushes to these other servers based on this idea that actually showed promise & probably could of succeeded in a broader scope... other times the servers failed based on human error. Again, sometimes things get in the way even if someone has the best intentions and things don't workout. You're hard pressed on one sentence I wrote and ignored the rest of my post where I added much greater context to the situation, that much is obvious to me. Explained my feelings about the current situation & a pretty constructive way to move on. The reason for moving on in my opinion though, should be out of the overall interest at the community. Making this move on the false pretense that SG can't get any of the servers on NA CS:GO working or shift servers with the meta of the game & not acknowledge how the community got here could set it up for failure in the future. Wherever it goes I hope there's passion in that area, because I have yet to really see people who were super passionate about a project produce something fun at this community & have it just sit at bottom of the barrel in terms of players. I log in like once a month or few months. Don't bother responding to me with anymore soap box bullshit if you're expecting a response, find sm1 else to do that shit with cause on god I know you wouldn't approach someone privately & act like this. It has to be fosho or to blow off steam.
  7. CS:GO's dead/dying guys!: Checkout this knew game its popping off!: Obviously joking but the whole "CS:GO is dead" argument feels like the biggest cope in the universe. It's entirely true that some of the communities that existed before have shrunk down some from around 2015 to now, but if hosting servers still is the idea idk. A lot of the communities were pretty mismanaged and I say that having been one of the most connected people during the stage where we were trying to exist in the little ecosystem NA based communities had. There will be always be new communities and certainly are if you look. Then there's the few that you recognize. The meta itself changes such as Minigames being something with dying interest, which is sad IMO but it was always kind of niche. Then there are more movement servers and so on which have risen in popularity. There isn't any tangible evidence ever given for this argument despite it being wrongly stated over & over again. CS:GO doesn't lack for interest or potential. I clicked through the meeting and heard someone say that you aren't going to get old SG players to play CS:GO. Old SG players, people who liked CS:GO get rank, completely discontinued playing the game less & less from CA up the rank (even some when they managed a CS:GO server) but never used their power to bring about any viable alternative community server option that was successful (some despite promising they would). When it was just a few people doing it, it was chill but eventually JB, TTT, ZE all died from mismanagement not from a lack of interest. The interest in these servers has barely changed albeit maybe TTT which was sorta niche to begin with. All of this to say, SG feels like it spiritually left CS:GO a long time ago. It would be better for SG to try something else if that's what the majority here wants but I don't think the argument that the game is dying is very objective or honest whatsoever. I also think that something that is being overlooked is that CS:GO usually had something in it for everyone, and that just as you aren't going to get old SG players to come play a game that had all kinds of flavors because they don't dig the overall game anymore I don't really think you'll have the greatest time getting them to play something entirely niche either. They're prolly gone albeit some Discord or Forum lurking. I also think that the servers at SG were a huge draw, and that the community is gonna need to chill itself out a lot if it's trying to expand from that because it can be incredibly toxic & unwelcoming for new people. Managing JB there were always a dozen little kids being bullied by someone for trying to exist and if they ever tried to defend themselves they'd manage to get themselves in trouble or bring about more flame. A lot just didn't get involved with TeamSpeak, the forums, and so on to save themselves the trouble.
  8. Playing on the server should be bare minimum if people care. It should literally come before anything else. I don't even mildly understand this viewpoint and would love to see you try to substantiate it. When will anyone log on if the people who care most, don't. You can't just create servers, even if they're great and expect people to just play them. This 100% goes back to the first post I made and standards being way too low. Honestly, I've seen some amazing albeit empty CS:GO servers that pushed the envelope. SG could easily operate on 1 dedi so while his post about removing individual servers it still makes perfect sense in my mind and is a perfectly valid question. Lastly I feel like your posts and attitude about all of this comes off really dismissive and aggressive for no reason. I think you should leave all the posts up unless they're explicitly breaking rules and if you think they're dogshit useless then you don't have to act on them, you really don't even need to respond to them. You responded to me super aggressively & accusatory. I then responded to you addressing the legitimate content of your post. It's jarring that both myself and delirium, who see eye to eye on virtually nothing said the exact same thing almost verbatim. I don't know why you have to make a thread of people making suggestions into a pissing contest where you pick through there posts & respond passive aggressive or straight delete them.
  9. It's important to understand how SG got here if you guys really wanna fix it. It was basically decided some of it's most notoriously successful servers on one of the most popular games of all-time weren't important anymore (unintentionally and intentionally). Playing the servers became less important. Posting on the forums became less important. Accruing bans or play time became less important. Even touching the server you were managing or at all interacting with the community in any remotely perceivable way became pretty unimportant. Frankly a lot of the time no one wanted to interrupt the status quo for the better or be the person to say things were going bad & hold anyone accountable. I looked like an asshole pointing out people's inactivity, telling people no on admin apps, pushing for demotions and against promotions but I still feel that it's the right way to do things. Things always trended way too hard towards leniency and the caliber you were became a lot less important. This situation was exacerbated by changing the process for applying several times in critical ways & made worse when the people being promoted are only loosely known by the people promoting them. If you don't know the person running a server- especially one of the important ones then you don't know their CA's, or their admins, or the player base of the server either. Throughout my time here I have continuously seen people gaslighted on this issue, but this is how it is. I don't even remotely like Fuze but the go-getter attitude to do literally anything at all, have fun (hopefully) doing it, and execute it well is the ONLY measure that ever should have mattered. It's really the only thing that matters running any project. Make this guy BD. SG needed a lot of it's higher-up BD's in the dirt with shovels building servers when things started divebombing. Needed people with red names getting involved with the main 3 and if they HATED the server & it's player base they at the very least could use their experience/pull to have someone underneath them who LOVES the server learn not to be a fuck-up. The current structure at the community where a few people that barely speak to each other build servers that no one has any oversight over and the people with red names infrequently delineate on what is likely unimportant in the grand scheme is not a healthy way for things to run. Have to lead from the front-lines. If it's really decided that SG wants to go another way, that's fine. But the state of having 7 higher-ups and I don't see any indication that one of them is involved with or has really any interest in the big 3 servers that built the community up in it's transition to CS:GO is a problem. There needs to be drastically more involvement or a look at the way things have adapted as SG grew. The theory that CS:GO itself was just something to get away from, that it was in a stage of die-off was pretty malignant IMO. Whatever came from that weren't the most fruitful projects or weren't really supported much by the community at large. It seemed like an excuse to me for people who were otherwise not interested in the servers to stick around in a retirement home and bark at people all day. Anytime a server held good management on CS:GO and were backed by competent TA's, they genuinely did well because that's where the player base was and has always been. SG has been around forever building a community of Counter-Strike players, it would make sense to me to start there and if you want to work up from there then you'll at least have something instead of nothing. Why waste it? The multi-year veterans here aren't interested in niche half-assed one-offs of other games but plenty would probably pop in to see an SG Jailbreak, ZE, TTT run decently. Even some niche one-off inspired projects that were run well at SG have done well when the person behind them really gave it a real try & weren't using them for a promotion to ego on people with.
  10. There was no impending victory but it's impressive how they've managed to pump up the ruble to higher than pre-invasion value. Holy fucking shit to the gas & diesel prices here in NY as well. To be honest although I think the US has good reason to get involved here, (I don't want to reiterate my total & full support for Ukraine) but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. COVID has both expanded & exposed the huge bubble in the US' economy. On the cusp of our economy returning to somewhat normalcy we're now having to fight the headwinds of this war & it's going to seriously affect the Fed's ability to fight inflation in any meaningful way. This could be a really rough, really long recession and given that we're already firing on all cylinders & have been since 2008- I'm pretty concerned. What will the US do if this situation gets more dire? The US has spent every year since 2008 worrying about anything but us having a healthy, real economy & opted to kick the proverbial can down the road. At some point we're going to kick it off a cliff, and it's starting to look increasingly like we're on a wide swing towards unprecedented extremism or wide-spread poverty if our populace doesn't take the issue more seriously. As I said in March when this all started, noone is going to win this war and the only outcome that we can possibly hope for is it for it to end. Any silver lining or permanent restructuring people will claim is occurring or will occur is complete & utter bullshit.
  11. Usually when someone wants to mass freekill they just hold left click for a few seconds. It's not really all that difficult to kill a bunch of unarmed players who are frozen in place or inside a small area. I don't see how this changes anything but inconveniencing the 90% of players on CT side who don't use them like this & having it mess up the balance on the server. Why don't we nerf AK47? Why don't we nerf Negev?
  12. The LR plugin is extremely buggy. Feel like it being completely recoded or reverted to an older/more stable version might be best. Map fixes/edits/removals and as someone else stated- extending the FO plugin is probably a good idea. Removing unfun maps to not require people to RTV unfun shit & having maps that fit SG's more deathmatch style gameplay is generally always what I liked to do. When we added FO it was supposed to be a way for the player base to get over their unreasonable phobia of a warden system while we figured out how to make a better system than the warden systems the other servers used (because even we weren't fully convinced). 2020-2021 I learned Hammer WAY better than I had ever previously and I wish I had got more into using it & stripper configs when I was managing JB. New event ideas possibly using custom-made plugins rather than recycling the same 2-3 events we ran in 2017 could be cool. If you checkout some of the other servers they really enrich JB gameplay by adding some MG aspects to it with plugins. We had some very early non intrusive voting-style ideas for this in one of the JB Rework threads we made back whenever ago, might be looking at.
  13. It's just another needless war destabilizing regions and exposing the worlds economic situation for what it is once again. Lets go down the list. UAE won't pick up the call from the US. CHECK. China threatens Western nations if they hold them accountable for saying/doing nothing. CHECK. Russia threatens to close up the shop for oil and nationalize. CHECK. Proxy wars continue to be fought, we handshake with a few frenemies, we frown at a few humanitarian oopsies and yay Ukraine is still standing but make no mistake there are no guarantees & there are no silver linings to this situation. Putin is; by all rights- a dumb cunt for this but it's the rest of the world & most importantly Ukraine who will have to deal with most of the fallout. The side commentaries about stuff like Gas Prices, Palestine, US Imperialism, NATO, and so on continue to be mostly unhelpful if not hurtful. I add this, especially since a lot of most of the insightful comments online have come from the US. I really liked it much better when Americans would take their dumb kids to school and shut the fuck up, had no outlet to spew their bullshit. Every day living here & having to hear the million & 1th new angle by someone out on the social climb is hell. Every current event seems to be another opportunity for a group to divide as many as they can for their gain in their disgusting pissant echo chambers. A million fucking political scientists, sociology majors, podcasters, and conmen. Nothing has made me more happy than to see Facebook/META drop down to pre-COVID stock levels because they're a genuinely terrible company. Americans themselves have become the worlds bitch eating up propaganda and years down the line it's going to be very nice to watch people admit how extreme they are actually were & laugh at them for it. It's only now we're even beginning to reach the level of intelligence that we're starting to have the general capacity to not get manipulated by literal fucking bots. How lovely. I wish for peace in Europe, in Ukraine, and hope that it comes at the cost of ego, not of human lives & living condition. Glory to Ukraine.
  14. Code Switching

Sociology is healthy guys, we’re okay for sure smile
  15. great bait m8
  16. Some of this is pretty much vast generalization but if you've been here long enough & don't see that OP (whoever the fuck he is) actually has some good points you're huffing some straight funny stuff or something lol. No need to gaslight this guy and ask for specific suggestions when he's literally saying it's a problem from the top down and everyone at the top needs to be replaced. That is literally what he writes in his post.
  17. I don't get what you're saying here then? That our votes don't matter?
  18. 7 super bowl wins, 9 appearances, countless other record broken over 20 years. Good for him, idk why so many people have to be salty losers over someone retiring on social media. Dude, couldn't even get his own retirement statement out fast enough before people started hating and leaked that he might retire. Hope he gets his dick sucked on a beach somewhere while the minimum wage mcdonalds burger flippers mald on social media about what they would do differently.
  19. I think it's just idiocracy, people vote these people in or help create generalizations that only escalate issues. Maybe I'm just taking the easy way out in saying that though. We can sit and blame the politicians/special interests but no one is required to listen to a TV ad, or a campaign promise. People probably think they're voting on merit, but a lot of the time they've been fed bad statistics that twist the truth, or straight up lies. Politicians across all aisles sell people on desperation, fear, and virtue signaling nonsense. It'd be nice to find a nice, healthy, totally agreeable way to get some of the money out. The way that politicians are able to invest in anything but an ETF that tracks a stock index is fucking absurd to me for example, then you get into campaign finance which can become an entire discussion with very reasonable counterpoints. On the otherhand. I think it's perverse and wrong how stuff like social media, news, etc has become so incredibly polarized and we have propaganda shoved down our throat 24/7. If we aren't keen to it you'll take one bite and then stubbornly continue onwards and it just gets more extreme. I guess I've never really understood the proper solution to it. I try my best to look at things from the most reasonable perspective and to me I just genuinely wish people would turn off the news, turn off social media and try to be more decent to one another. I read a reddit thread about this topic (original OP topic) like an hour ago and it put on display what I'm saying. People either believe you're racist if you don't like it, or you're somehow racist if you do. If people are upset at what Biden's doing, I honestly don't think they're automatically racist (although who knows there's oughta be some racist mad about it). If someone's happy about what he's doing, I also don't think they're a racist. What sells is clearly division, screaming, name calling. You'll never open cable TV to find a reasonable discussion between two people. The craziest shit is that as comical as the discussions are if a normal person does any research they can discover this for themselves.
  20. There's a lot of ways to interpret your post I'm not sure if you think my post says that I believe the world is fair, or that I believe that personally. We should strive for people suited best based on merit though, no? It's kind of not a meritocracy when the sitting President says he's decided what group of people he's going to give a seat in the Supreme Court then for people to be upset that he's virtue signaling that he's accomplishing anything towards equity towards minorities. If he just happened to promote a minority group or hasn't been on the court before I wouldn't really think much of it. It's always a sleight of hand though, he's virtue signaling for a fair system while actually doing the opposite. This isn't to say "wow muh racism against white people", but it's definitely a little lacking in judgement in almost every category for him. I could care less if they promote a woman or a black person or whoever, that's great I'm sure there's a lot of qualified candidates. I think it's just a very stupid vapid move from a politician.
  21. There's no way anyone in this thread believes diversity trumps merit. If you do, I can promise you that there are scumbags in every group of people on earth no matter their race, sex, gender, background. It's ofc less likely to find as many candidates for this among minorities mostly due to past racism hurting economic conditions and many feeling the reverb of that still currently. However, I think coming out and deciding/communicating that any position is only for a woman, or only for one group of people is lacking in logic and unnecessarily controversial. The country currently needs less division and less arguments over semantic bullshit. Look at this thread, look at TV, look at any discussion relating to this issue. If you find a person deserving of the position, who is a woman or who comes from a minority group then the diversity is just a plus, it shouldn't guide your entire decision nor should you boil down an entire persons character because of it. Being recognized for a come-up, or breaking the odds is great (who doesn't love a good underdog story) but I think if a seat is chosen without careful consideration you can end up with a wacky motherfucker making decisions that will fuck the US over for decades. There are some stats used by @TheZZL to prove discrimination in the courts and suggesting that we can right these wrongs. I would caution using stats to prove a point because what you really did was run into the fallacy of causation with your statements. People fell hard for this trap when speaking on things like the gender pay gap for over a decade now, which is not even close to being explained by discrimination but mostly other factors such as motherhood. This kind of thinking isn't to say there isn't discrimination against minorities, women, or anyone for that matter but if you look at inequality as inequity the world starts to look a lot more sinister & the solutions people come up with are usually like shoving a square peg in a round hole. As for speaking on people oppressed in the past set aside by economic hardship (mostly blacks), it's not as if we can magically generate qualified candidates to pick to somehow equal things out (although I'm sure there are qualified ones, I'm speaking more on the fact that race/diversity is in the discussion). If someone exists who is most qualified they'll get picked. If we assume good intentions by Biden his words mean he has already a list of these type of candidates. If we assume the worst he's probably trying to get reelected because many people do not like him. I personally think people are really weak in the head if they don't see it as a political move by him, whether agree or disagree. It's a bad move by a leader who claimed to want to bring people more together by not just hailing someone as a good choice because of their merit & not encourage more tribalistic nonsense bullshit.
  22. Turn VAC & that useless SMAC BS off and we'll get a real scrim going.
  23. next time i am there to cast an SG scrim that shit was probably hilarious & fun
