  2. Man, this thread looks really familiar.
  3. This map crashing the server is better off for everyone as they're being saved from playing it, it doesn't fit the server at all.
  4. Personal opinion aside taking the other thread into account, many people who are part of the servers main base said they'd be fine to keep both. Take that and being that the vote is split even removing one of them is a bad idea. Based on everything It's pretty much asking people whether they want to be shot or stabbed at this point. That 12-25% of server playtime has to go somewhere, and it can very likely go to maps that are more likely to smash the servers population into the floor. If there was other maps players were overlooking, or good ones waiting to be added I could see the argument- but it looks like the main base is going to be forced to play shit that it doesn't want to for the sake of a forum poll.

  8. So much of the improvement I've gone through in the past year was thanks to you, so much of my demeanor change, diversity in ideas is thanks all to you. You've helped me on such a massive level I could not even begin to describe it. You even pushed me forward with euro when I was being a little kid about it. Knowing we're both stepping through the pearly gates at SG together is poetic in a sense, cause I think we both had a very similar agenda in trying to prove something about ourselves while having a genuine love for this place. I've already spoken to you personally about all of this, but I feel like publicly stating this really shines light on how much of a fantastic person you are. After all of the demonstrably shitty things people have spread about you, said to you, and treated you as I think you deserve at least one post which accurately depicts you as you are. You are an awesome, loving, and loyal person. So many of the people I would of disregarded as unlikable you've showed me the other end of the stick and made me a much less cynical person at the end of it all. I know you probably don't feel fully fulfilled maybe with your progress at SG but know that personally you've effected so many people in a beyond positive way- sometimes life changing. I wish so many things for you, and I hope that you stay a best friend of mine for as long as possible. I love you man, full gay shit intended.
  9. This might come as a surprise for some of you, for others you may have seen it coming. As of today I'm stepping down. I'm not going to give full explanation as to why, but if you're curious feel free to approach myself or others privately. Reasons ranges from losing passion, not agreeing with the direction the community is heading since my return, and feeling like my time here has really met some kind of a new chapter. I won't be disappearing never to be seen again, but my time here will definitely take a large hit. I love this community from the bottom of my heart. From helping me through a tough childhood, to giving me some of the best friends I've had, awesome laughs on the servers, some little Asian boy who I love, I could go on forever. The reason why I always put so much loyalty, work, and time into this place is because I really wanted to pay it forward to help the next All Ts that came along. Besides the fact that it's amazingly fun it's largely why I've always loved Prison Break so much. Just to throw some love to that server, it's players, you guys are truly fucking awesome. The community that server has had over the past 2 years is truly a blessing because no other people would make that servers confusing ruleset & tiny map rotation work so perfectly. It's some of the best times I've had playing games in general, so sincerely from the managers, ex-managers, admins and most importantly players- thank you so much. The higher staff (especially the TA's) at this community deserve your utmost respect because no matter what you think they try really fucking hard to make this place somewhere you guys love, somewhere that makes everyone happy. The lower staff the SA's, CA's, you guys are extremely important- without you this place would not run properly whatsoever. Everything from the time you invest, the bullshit you deal with, the ideas that get the gears turning and the pure love for this place is amazing. I know many of you current admins & higher have had to go through my gate keeping on applications- just know nothing said ever was personal. I don't see enough praise given to @Caution when some of these step down threads get made. This guy is a dick, but he's dumped a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this place. So many rumors and genuine hatred fall on this one guy who people couldn't be bothered to talk to even to confirm any of it. Never would I have expected you being someone I got along with well when I got back from my ban. I really wanna thank you for having my back, giving me the chance to help, and trucking forwards for this place time and time again. You have my respect for all the shit you deal with daily, and I wish you the best in your cone waving adventures. This is the part where I mention a few people and say some gay shit. @Dominic it would be wrong for me to not tag you here, you were the first person I talked to back at SG cause you reminded me of myself. Hearing clips of what you sounded like 1-2 years ago was surprising to me, and I think you've really started to mature in a great way. We had our ups and downs, but I consider you a good friend. @eXtr3m3 You're like a brother to me and you know that no matter what happens I'll always appreciate what you've done for me. I'm really glad someone like you came along to show me a way different then my own, it was refreshing and I couldn't thank you enough for all of the things you've done for me. @Nimmy I never expected you to be such a great friend of mine when we first began talking but I definitely saw something great in you. You're a genuinely good hearted kid, and even if you've stepped down I want you to know you've made my time here so much more enjoyable. @delirium Watching you step down made me realize that your value at SG went way beyond what I saw on the surface. You really care about this place, and that's something I think I always didn't appreciate fully out of you. Even though you have a way of being rude, or downright overtly argumentative I really think behind it all you're a great guy. I'm really glad I got to be apart of your journey. If you want that deep, mean, analysis of you from me message me on Steam- otherwise fuck you, cunt. @Reece I'm super proud of you. Seeing you come from a beginner in SG, to understanding so much, so fast was extremely impressive to me. There have been times where I've doubted you, and you have continuously proved me wrong. Your work ethic is genuinely great, you're an awesome kid, and I hope to continue being great friends. @Luke I really appreciate the faith, loyalty, and criticism you have given me in my time here. You're a great person, don't sell yourself short on that. I honestly attribute my insane passion to people like you believing in me every step of the way, giving me constructive criticism when you felt I had stepped in the wrong direction. Stunning and you were such a breath of fresh air when I came back. @Roux similarly with Luke, thank you for being so faithful in me. Your encouragement and generally friendly attitude kept me feeling positive towards the community, seeing that despite things here or there it was still great. Playing with you has been nothing less of a joy and hope we can continue to do so. @Crawfish I don't know how you feel about me personally anymore but I really was surprised with how much you took off after your start. I wish things ended differently for you here, there were many people who I wanted to share a seat with at the big boys table and you were among that group. I haven't seen you around much, but there were many times where discussions with you would make me feel better and give me clarity. All of your work at SG and personal help aside you've gained my respect. @Post You aren't just a memer. In your time here I really saw a side of you I don't think others saw, you did a lot for portion of SG that makes it a community. You've given so many people happiness on otherwise shitty days, and the amount of times you've helped me out is not something I have ever taken lightly. @Snowy Thank you for being the definition of a truly loyal, good hearted friend. You are someone I admire greatly for being open-minded and just insanely hilarious. Your return to this community was a blessing, and I appreciate you giving me a chance when others would tell you otherwise. @Malibu We had our little problems at the start but I really hope for your best. You can come off like a clown sometimes, so I can forget you're a person with feelings. The truth is a lot of happiness, laughter and good times stem from your goofy ass- so thank you. @Ryoku you're a fucking faggot. Thank you for all the laughs you've given me every single time we speak, sometimes you're a fucking douche but all the same I consider you a good friend. @Tsuna @Evil You old fucks are some great people, and I miss you guys- come back around if only for 30 minutes. @Prez You were one of the VP’s I really felt a good connection with. Thank you for being chill most of the time. I really respect the fact that you give a shit and go out of your way for this place. In the 3 VP’s in my time here, you are definitely my favorite. I’m happy I got to work with you while I had the chance to. @euro likes long names Last but not least. I don't wanna embarrass you, but you know how much you've changed my life. I could sit here all day writing out how much this community has meant to me, how much the people here mean to me, but you guys already know who you are. So many unique personalities, awesome people, and Believe me when I tell you that every ounce of makes you all great I have not let go unnoticed. I know many people, even recently have been turned off to me as a person due to my bluntness and I truly am sorry because at the end of the day my intentions have always been in the best interest of the community. There are others in the past who after being downright spiteful towards me, I never really accepted apologies and moved on properly. I’ll take this opportunity to say I’m willing to start fresh and get over past bullshit. I’d also like to say I am sorry for the instances, especially when I first joined the community where my “bluntness” was just me being a cunt for no good reason except just being angry at a transitional stage in life. When I came back I had to fight through a lot of bullshit stigmatization, bias, and witch hunting which honestly made my time here far more miserable. Almost to the point where I didn't just step down, but wanted to leave. This isn't to hold anyone in the current staff to gunpoint (actually the complete opposite) cause there were plenty of them who had my back and saw situations for what they were. I want to thank those people for all of the help, the advice, and more or less keeping me from being permabanned again. The chance you guys gave me to help I hope didn't go without feeling fulfilled at the end of it all.
  10. You have to deal with it, as far as those items go they have yet to be specified as any kind of secret. If you're thinking of the same one that I am, then you definitely don't have to do anything that is KOS to obtain it.
  11. We use a server-side anti-cheat called SourceMod Anti-Cheat. SMAC looks for a bunch of cvars you (the server owners) set up, basically if they're trying to cheat by bypassing sv_cheats (or force anything else for that matter) in that instance they get banned for cheating. They're 100% accurate from what I've heard in the past and have yet to see someone get falsely banned for it. You'll see other ones like fog_enable, r_drawparticles and r_drawothermodels every now & then.
  12. Just to post my opinion. I want to get the new one fixed, or remove it. If we get it fixed properly I'd like to see the old one removed.
  13. At first look this map has a nice layout, a good vent system, seemed like it lacked secrets. I decompiled the map and found some secrets, aswell as some other note-worthy details. Vent leads to armory. Has plenty of pistols (usp some in cells). P250 in the lockerroom in breakfloor. A nice vent in the big cage floor you can knife/shoot out to get grenades. One of the outside towers has an invisible platform you can walk across to get on top, not sure why. One of the other outside towers next to it has a scout. There's a way to teleport into the medic from a vent that gives you a negev (couldn't figure out how but pretty sure its a keypad). Top left corner disco speaker able to be jumped into, nothing you can really do once you're inside of it tho. Good choice of music in Disco, if that means anything. Generally looks like a good map, is kinda lacking in secrets and a lot of it is deathgames. Not sure if it'd really fit our server, feel like it would be the kind of map that ends up killing server population when swapped to. The general map size, amount of secrets, and deathgames reminds me of Pipeline- which is the kind of map our server doesn't do well with.
  14. @Dominic If you hand mine in with solid proof I'll give you 30 random Steam games.

  16. Currently we have 2 Razor maps, both revamp_f1 made by @Kirby, and the older razor that was ported to CS:GO. Recently I've heard quite a lot of people complaining about this, as they believe it gets repetitive and factually 25-50% of the server time weekly is spent on those two maps combined. Instead of making a map fix request, or removal request straight up- I'd like to hear what you guys think about this. This is what it boils down to (and if you could answer in this format it'd be useful): Do you want to see one removed, if so why?: If so, which one (if not leave blank)?: If you could see fixes to the newer revamp or the older map what would it be?:
  17. MG Suggestions

Took me a few days, I'm awake. I think this thread has a lot of potential to get good changes, so I'm gonna try my best to explain some things I said better aswell as share opinions on the things I did not. I completely agree with this and it was exactly what I was trying to get at when I said this. To elaborate a bit. Our MG server has way too many maps on it that function decently so end up staying on the server. For other servers like TTT, JB, ZE we tend to pick at little things about maps hyper-objectively and remove what is unnecessary or simply bad for population. Awhile back on JB we pretty much stealthily cut out a bunch of maps, noone cared, noone noticed, but it made the server do visibly better not hitting those "bumps". In this situation I think maybe we make some kind of event where instead of testing a lot of maps, we go through the old ones objectively- where people like @whimsy would be able to make a proper case for why he doesn't want a map. Sometimes playing the map itself and not enjoying isn't going to be reason enough to remove it, sometimes maps just arent popular and don't resonate- you have to pick a group of select good ones. I'll elaborate on this part aswell. The current CS:GO community has a pretty big lacking of MG servers with a solid community as I discussed with @Wawa a few weeks back. I hope we pursue many of these changes because trying to carve out our own too unique path has been tried and failed for way too long. Sacrificing a few things for the greater good, even if just experimentally is worth the effort of gaining another major server (especially if its something as basic as maps). There are currently no "major" MG servers within the United States so to say, and even looking at the MG servers that do well out of the States- they don't do that well either. Though they don't do that well, there is enough of a playerbase out there to build a foundation and we certainly have enough people at SG to give it that initial boost. Maps are the core of a server, especially MG- if we fuck up maps its gonna very hard to recover from there no matter how much cool shit we have. One of those "cool things" (!ws !knife plugin) doesn't really cost much of anything to have, but we have had a stance where we want to follow the server guidelines so we pay for that. It's pretty much as simple as buying new server tokens (which are pretty fuckin cheap for 1 server), and running a plugin on the server that automatically restarts it once every 3 days every time it is banned. I've personally never suggested this, but its definitely on of the things that pulls kids into servers. People tend to enjoy familiarity, they come on a server with an idea of what they want to play, so when we have 65% of the time our maps in the "other category", I view that as a bad thing. If you don't believe me I'm willing to bet you almost any amount of money that popular servers tend to lean towards lower percentages within the "other category". Other than the reason I've already stated this is also due to repeating regulars picking the same maps, on SG this is however difficult to do as explained in my previous post. To pick up on that last thought I think us having so many different options and categories is a bad thing. Not to get nerdy but people generally hate having many options, which it's choice overload- not due to familiarity but more to do with regret. The other suggestions about a stats plugin, auto-plant, adding skins to store aswell as skinchooser, and increasing slots are in my opinion pretty low-risk high-reward changes that should absolutely be done. Stats plugin is pretty obvious, it's one of the things that makes our other servers so loved and popular. Increasing Surf's slots to 40 as dumb as I thought it might be actually ended up working partially, for MG it makes sense especially when the server hits peak. We need to get the highest amount of people stuffed in there as possible to bring the shitty average up. @LampShade, your response to the auto-plant suggestion does not make full sense- you need to reread that as it could shorten rounds or at the very least consider adding a fastplant plugin. Just because we have admins doesn't mean we shouldn't add things to give more automation or lighten the load for them, especially with the lack of staffing we currently have.

  19. I've taken a few of the ideas here (not gonna point out any specifically) and started to mold events out of them, expect those events in the coming weeks! Please keep posting any and all ideas you have- no matter how stupid you think they are. Yeah, we did this apart of the Players vs. Admins event but due to the server not allowing us to increase slots without crashing we didn't do it again. This is being looked into.
