  1. Right up your alley.
  2. H1Z1 vs. PUBG

For me I enjoy PUBG as a former ArmA 3 junkie. I think that both games draw different crowds and I don't think H1Z1 is a bad game. I do also think that H1Z1 did what they had to do to make money, but I find the direction they took their games to be quite scummy towards the people who originally bought their game for the revolutionary survival game it was supposed to be. I think they also decided "Oh we won this genre, we can slow our roll" and PUBG came in and fucking punched them in the dick forcing them to compete. I love that, so I will always prefer PUBG as long as they keep the development rolling and stay true to the playerbase. Tactically the game is just really fulfilling with so many little micromanagement choices you have to make. Do I get this car? Do I go to the middle of the circle, or the complex on the edge? Do I pickup the KAR98 or the SKS? Paper or Plastic? The biggest downfall for PUBG in my personal opinion is that they haven't seperated ranked play from casual play. When I play with my dumbass friends I don't want my 2k duo rank getting fucked in the asshole from all the games I went hard with duo partners- I want to have fun and just play the game. The other gripe I have with the game currently is that everyone is making the push towards playing 1st person and I personally dislike it due to the audio being far too low as far as footsteps go, some of the models are just so fucking disproportionate and I end up shooting the edge of objects with my gun such as the fence, top of walls etc.. because the first person is just incredibly fucked. I'm hoping that with PUBG they make looting a bit less important and maybe add another circle because as it stands sometimes people can get dragged across the map in the most unfair way possible which makes the game much more RNG vs. skill-based. Major downside to PUBG is that the game just shits itself on so many computers and they really need to work out how to increase their audience cause I think if it was more accessible to people it would be one of the most popular games ever created for PC.
  3. Good bot.
  4. Mfw @Nimmy thinks this thread is for PB.
  5. I believe we should make a rule that Special Orders written via Text Chat is not allowed or simply remove Special Orders entirely until we get a system that allows CTs to better communicate their orders without being talked over/not seen in chat. In the past week I've seen this occur to multiple people on the server- including myself. I believe adding this as a small rule would stunt the chaos a bit at least from our regulars side of things. For obvious reasons it consistently causes problems when the Prisoner(s) or other Guards doesn't read chat (even on mic sometimes) and nearly every time I've seen this done someone ends up getting mad due to being freekilled or by not seeing the order getting spammed out of chat. We already have CTs who spitefully use text chat to kill Ts when they actually have a microphone so the prospect that 1 T (possibly more) and all the CTs are going to see an order in chat I see as unreasonable. Whether or not I can (as an admin) claim that Special Orders via Text Chat are considered unreasonable is up for debate but I would rather have a concrete ruling on it rather than something controversial. tldr; All of the Ts/CTs cant read text chat due to 28+ people typing and I'd like for special orders in text chat to be against the rules to avoid people getting confused, not following orders, or being freekilled due to CTs thinking they're rebelling. EDIT: Also for anyone wondering "Whats the difference between regular chat orders and this", the difference is that 1 T running off towards Soccer looks as if he's rebelling rather than seeing a whole herd of Ts running off to follow orders.
  6. Pretty cool video, includes some interviews building up to the release of his general idea. Interesting that he wanted to tie up Half Life 2 with Episode Three leaving Half Life 3 to really spawn a whole new environment, new bad guys, a nice time warp like was done with Half Life 1. I don't know if I agree that Half Life 3 "lives" but I don't think with the main writer releasing this that it means any chance for a game in the future is dead. I do however think that if there is a Half-Life 3 that it will be extremely odd to do because the plan was to put Gordon back in stasis after the Borealis so if there was never a Half-Life 2: Episode Three then they would have to kinda squeeze it all into one game.. Either way any produced Half-Life-ish content I love even something like Black Mesa (the mod) so I await happily for anything of the sort.
  7. If we forced Guards to play more hesitantly about Prisoners picking up primaries things would more difficult than they currently are for Guards so we tend to lean towards just punishing the people baiting & gunplanting rather than CTs for not being lenient about it.
  8. Jonathan is right in a lot of cases however I don't suggest doing this unless it's some new player mass freekilling or being oblivious to how the server works past attempts at explanation. Past that, I find reporting to be really ineffective in comparison to calling an admin onto the server in the fact that the situation gets dealt with by protocol, it gets dealt with faster, and in many situations an admin can resolve the situation by simply speaking with no admin powers. In most situations I find people that report new players obnoxious in the fact that they're almost always never ever attempting to explain the rules to the player and in many situations instigating the situation by rushing the person, harassing them, or simply encouraging whatever behavior whether it be racism or freekilling. Basically what I'm saying is use reporting someone as a last resort and don't do it if the person is committing extremely minor offenses due to being new or having a lack of understanding- always look to call an admin and explain the rules yourself before jumping the gun. The reason why I never posted that many Player Complaints before I received admin was that they're highly ineffective as compared to just asking our admins for help through Shoutbox or Steam chats. Feel free to add me here if you need an admin, I haven't been as active lately but I still hop on every now and then for calls.
  9. Would likely end in abuse towards mostly kids.
  10. If we're going to do that we might as well add a plugin that does it for us instead, which is something I think over the course of the next year we should very well consider. We haven't done something like that because restricting people from playing CT straight off kinda puts a choke hold on the server population in it's early hours and can have quite devastating effects on the servers success. If our server population is doing fantastic some time in the future with an extremely plentiful group of regulars I'd actually think a 10-60 minute wait period before playing CT would be a positive change for us to make, but with a sporadic population it can be a unnecessary risk that ends up hurting us. We are becoming a bit more open minded towards the idea of CT oriented plugins mostly due to slot size changes, experimentation and such but something like this as a rule creates way too much micro-management for our staff to handle as they already have to handle mundane things like all chat, admin chat, steam chat, moving players, slaying players, investigating situations etc.. Overall as a plugin it's a decent idea that we should mull over but as far as staffing goes (as a regular I'm sure you understand) we aren't in the position where adding something like this would make anyone's time any easier than it is currently. Good post anyway, definitely brings up a great point.
  11. Goodfucking night goddamnit.. :'(
  12. Doesn't answer many questions about the story or tie up anything into an even close to nice knot. To be honest maybe I just have a shitty imagination but that was pretty unwhelming but it makes a lot of sense if it was a third installation rather than its own standalone game.
  13. Noone's posted about @Delirium's special DG yet.
  14. Seems unfair to new players as @LargeAll said and in my own mind even if we balanced it properly it would take far too much effort for a very marginal effect. Another point that hasn't been touched on too much as of yet is that people treat their Karma as a trophy/rank, it's not something they really want to spend in my opinion. If anything with the karma system is gonna change let it be the removal of fucking RDM ranks, people literally RDM and kill for any reason they can find so they can get a high rank on that, it's fucking revolting to me.
  15. Demote everyone except the President and Vice President, start new.
  16. "i CaN tELl tHiS tHreAd wIlL bE tHe WoRst oF tHem aLL" @Dominic 2017
  17. In my opinion there isn't a difference between go to pool, and freeday in pool. If they're being shit heads and delaying it can be dealt with as it usually would.
  18. Depends on whether it was super careless, but otherwise this is pretty much the definition of crossfire so no.
  19. Crackhouse and the same bullshit throwaways.
  20. If a CT is really bad, extremely careless or purposefully trying to kill other Ts it's already against the rules as far as crossfire goes. Even if it is against the rules they still don't have to let you go to medic though.
  21. Post your desktops!

    LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  22. Social media as it is today has components specifically to suck you in and addict you, I do not use Social Media with the exception of Snapchat. Netflix is 75% garbage, 25% watchable content. Rick and Morty isn't some amazing groundbreaking show. Tech N9ne is one of the best rappers alive.
