  5. @matt The contest banner doesn't seem to be working for me. From the vmt it looks like it's meant to be a decal, but applying it as either a decal or texture just creates a black empty image for me. Edit: Changing it to function as a normal texture seems to work. I'll just do that.

  13. Need a new headset

    HyperX is really the only way to go if you want an all-in-one gaming headset. All other gaming headsets are either overpriced, sound awful, or both. Otherwise, it is always better to get a good set of headphones and then a separate mic to go with it. I have the HyperX Cloud 2 and it rivals even my Sony XB-500 in terms of sound quality. Super happy with them.

  17. My one problem with the game is that it only works for 1 on 1 fights (that includes 2 v 2 since you are still only fighting one person at a time). Game modes like dominion just do not work in my opinion as once you have to fight 2 or more people at once, there is almost no way to win unless you get lucky. The problem with For Honor is that it has the mechanics of a fighting game, while trying to bring the appeal of a shooter with it's game modes. Even games like Counter Strike where communication and teamwork is key, you are still given a fighting chance when up against multiple opponents. In For Honor, you either run or die. Or both.
  18. I think with carefully set criteria for a kick, an automated system could work. From what I understand, admins are able to see "bad actions" in the logs. Those bad actions are generated from the server itself, which means it already knows how to differentiate a normal kill from an RDM. Knowing that, it seems like telling the server to kick after a specified number of bad actions from a client should definitely be possible. I would say this is worth a shot, but if implemented should be introduced slowly. What I mean is, this system should first be put into place solely to catch mass RDM when admins are not online. A way to do this would be to have the server monitor how many bad actions are done from a single client during a single round, then resetting it's count every new round. The number of bad actions could be something like 3 or 4; fewer then that could potentially kick someone for a simple misunderstanding, while having a higher count might not catch a mass RDMer in time (since often times someone is able to kill a mass RDMer during the round). Hope what I said makes sense. I definitely support this idea if done right, and it seems pretty easy to implement and test under controlled circumstances.

  21. There's a few custom textures and one sound, and yup I'm still using Pakrat. Didn't even know about VIDE so thank you, I'll use that once I'm back on my computer later in the week. I agree, which is why you can no longer shoot through the windows in the motel traitor room.

  24. those map events you mentioned are still possible in CS:GO (for the most part) it's just that mappers haven't bothered to include them for whatever reason during their ports. If you really want a feature added, contact whoever ported the map and ask them or have another mapper see if they can add it in.
  25. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but aside from a few cosmetics I don't see anything redeeming about GMod TTT. It's clunkier, has much MUCH worse hit reg, worse performance in a lot of cases, and the gun play is laughable compared to the refined mechanics of a a dedicated shooter like CS:GO. By now we have 99% of all the popular maps ported to CS:GO and if there's a map you would like ported you can just request it. The only thing I see missing from CS:GO TTT is picking up bodies and props which really isn't a big deal. Even if you disagree with all that, I think separating the TTT community only hurts both sides since there would be less players on both sides.
