  1. From the looks of it, the Prop Hunt event has been doing really well. It's easily become one of the popular servers next to TTT and Jailbreak. Personally I've always loved Prop Hunt from Gmod and TF2, and when I first joined SG that was the one server I thought was missing. It's not a coincidence that older game modes like TTT and Zombie Escape perform so well; they have stood the test of time as fun, enjoyable games that the source community has enjoyed for years. So I ask you, why not give a dedicated Prop Hunt server a shot? I've been told that this has been done before and it typically dies after events such as the one going on now, but with the popularity of CS:GO and with Gmod getting more and more dated, people are switching to CS:GO and are always looking for a fun break from defuse maps. If we can just put some time into getting some more and different maps I think the server can do well once it's added to the forum's server list. Even if a decicated Prop Hunt server doesn't have the legs to stand with Jailbreak or Zombie Escape, I am more then confident that it would be way more popular and useful then lets say the Rust server which I've seen MAYBE 2 or 3 people on at most. If the issue with having a dedicated Prop Hunt server is population, then I don't understand why we have a Rust server at all (sorry to the 2 people that play on it).
  2. Which PC to Get?

You really should build your own. The cost difference alone should be enough, but also being able to know the exact ins and outs of your PC is a blessing when having to troubleshoot. Whatever you heard about it being easy, it's even easier then that. There are numerous tutorials and literal step by step guides to help you along the way. Plus, it's just fun and it's so rewarding when you finally boot it up and everything works. Trust me, down the line when your prebuilt is slowing down you will regret not building your own and not being able to spend that extra cash on a better video card (those 3 PCs you posted all have 1060s, yuck). PLUS you have an entire community of tech savvy people, some of which have plenty of experience building PCs and would love to help you choose the parts and price it all out. I really can't stress how much better it is to build your own.
  3. Thank you for this, downloading right now. Been wanting to try this game for so long.
  4. Nintendo Switch (NX)

I'm not worried about graphics, in fact I could care less about them. But the fact is that Nintendo loses a lot of money because of their under-powered systems. Yes, their first party games look great, and some third party developers can make great games for Nintendo consoles as well, but with the power of modern PCs and consoles and the expectations that gamers have, developers often ignore Nintendo so that they don't have to scale down their game for their console. If you remember from the Wii, a lot of games that were ported to the Wii had to take the same approach as a handheld port; they basically had to remake the game entirely to accommodate the specs. Hell, even the WiiU has trouble playing 4 player Mario Kart sometimes. I'm not trying to bash Nintendo or anything, I love Nintendo and would love for them to get back on track, but they've lost a lot of money and are very stubborn in this one aspect of their business and I think that's what is killing them.
  5. Nintendo Switch (NX)

If that really is their target, then they really fucked up. This thing is way too big to compete with smart phones. No one is going to want to carry this around like a phone. Even carrying around a DS isn't too common, so I can't imagine people wanting this. To me it looks like an attempt to bring together handheld and console gaming, which I don't think can work if the unit is limited by mobile performance.
  6. Nintendo Switch (NX)

I'm curious. I think the console is going to live or die based on its specs. It's weird to me that they were showing Skyrim of all games, this could mean one of two things: 1. the specs are underwhelming or 2. Nintendo just thinks Skyrim is popular and wanted to show that you can play it on the go. I have a sinking feeling that it's going to be #1, just like every other Nintendo console. If the unit has modern specs when it's connected to the TV system or whatever, then fine; you can't expect a mobile device to be on par with modern consoles or PCs. But if the system is limited by the mobile specs, this thing is going to BOMB and I fear it might be the last straw for Nintendo.
  7. Even if it doesn't it still would be worth it to add into your essay as long as you can BS it and make it sound awesome lol. Also, if you don't like any of the clubs and stuff that your school offers, start your own. It can literally just be you and 1 friend, and it doesn't matter what it is. Putting down that you started your own thing with like minded people and got it recognized by the school is huge in application essays. Never think that an experience you've had is too minor or unimportant; you can always find a way to make it seem better on paper. If you don't like working in groups and often times find yourself doing all the work, tell the story of how you lead a demoralized and lazy group of teenagers to create the highest graded presentation in the class or something (make sure that last part is truthful). Don't be afraid to stretch the truth a little bit on things that the school has to take your word for. Like, they don't need to know nor can they find out if you literally did all the work yourself... so instead, say that you became the group leader and delegated positions to everyone, then wrap it up with a nice successful ending.
  8. If it's not too late to sign up for AP classes then see if you can squeeze some in. I'm not sure how much it helps but essentially the schools are just looking to see if you can commit and excel in harder tasks. Aside from that, extra curriculars are HUGE for any college that you're trying to apply to. It doesn't have to be a sport, in fact preferably it would be something that relates to your interests/what you think you're going to be studying. With that will (hopefully) come with some nice stories and experiences that you can have for your essays that you send out. Another big thing that colleges are looking for are leadership experiences. This doesn't mean you have to be the leader of your debate team or anything, it can be as simple as taking charge of a group project and doing really well on it. Ideally this and your other outside of the classroom experiences should stick with whoever is reading your essay; you have to make yourself stand out from all the other kids with good grades.
  9. Knife Giveaway

    Good luck everyone!
  10. Finding a job

I worked at Staples during high school as an Easy Tech associate. Basically I sold computers, printers, and all the other tech. What was nice about the job was I made $1.25 over minimum wage, PLUS commission. I'm pretty good with technology in general and after a few training sessions and tips from my manager, I was getting at least 5 good sales a day that would end up netting me a good chunk of extra cash along with my pay check. Also, if you're super lazy like me it's nice to know that Staples was super easy mainly because who the hell goes into Staples for something other then like a notebook or some shit? The customers that came into my section were like the rejects from Best Buy, which isn't a bad thing; I still got my sales but the floor wasn't always packed with customers. My day would often consist of selling, putting away product, and slacking off in the back room. I probably did half as much work as any other retail or food service worker with more money in my pocket. If Staples doesn't sound interesting after that, my lazy man advice is look for store that doesn't get as many customers as some of its competition. Some may say that could get boring, but at least for me I would rather do less work for more money.
  11. New Inferno

I don't want to judge the map without playing it, but some of these changes just don't make sense. One of the big complaints of the old Inferno was banana. Without any cover for the Ts, I feel like Inferno will become like Cobble where everyone usually just goes to one site and forgets the other (in this case, only going A). I loved Inferno and honestly didn't think it needed a whole lot of change. Opening the map up is fine in most cases, but banana needed to also have some cover worked in if they were going to do that. Also, no bells. RIP.
  12. I can think of so many games that are much MUCH worse. League of Legends is the first that comes to mind.
  13. Looks like a nice map, especially for the Halloween season. Definitely worth testing out to make sure there are no bugs and that it plays well with TTT (enough weapons, balanced map, etc.)
  14. Now, will it be cheaper to mass produce this "fake" meat then continue to farm animals the way we do? Because if not then this process won't catch on.
  15. Halo's 1st Giveaway.

Cool cool, thanks for the giveaway
  16. Love it. I would totally be down for this.
  17. That's fair. Maybe it could be something more casual then, like I'm not sure how to encourage this aside from it happening naturally, but if the community where to form teams we could just have a leaderboard: if you want to move up on the board, you must beat the team above you. This way there doesn't need to be mass organization, just the two teams talking to each other and then coming back with the results of the match for it to be posted. Could be fun and also a way to use the scrim servers more.
  18. We could do it like a draft; team leaders pick one by one so that one team doesn't get stacked.
  19. How about a nice 5v5 CS:GO tournament? Seems like a pretty good use of the scrim server. People can assemble into teams over the course of like a month or so then everyone comes together for one big tournament. We could even have something like open tryout days so that team leaders can see all the talent and recruit team members.
  20. Sweeeeet. No idea when i'll be available to play, but this sounds awesome. We should totally have a dedicated prop hunt server too... like not just for this event... just sayin
  21. Game Soundtracks

    Always gives me chills.
  22. A nice idea in theory, but instead of implementing a whole new mod and making things more complicated, now that we have drop-able C4 you could just place a C4 "inside" a fresh dead body. Less OP IMO and involves more tactical thinking from the Ts.
  23. Thank you for the giveaway!
  24. TTT_Hoodrat request

BIG update to the map. Thank you to everyone for all the suggestions. There is now an entire new area of the map which hopefully will be enough to keep the map at a good size. Please view the updated screenshots through the gamebanana link
