  1. Special orders are mentioned several times in the "General Rules for Guards:" section of the JB rules. This is why I pointed out the fact that the term "special orders" isn't in the "Definitions of Common Terms" section but should be.
  2. Freedays are not necessarily special orders, they are incomplete orders. The issue lies in the fact that telling a specific T to drop a secondary can be considered a special order which can not be given over text or during first order. The other issue being that the term special order is not in the list of "Definitions of Common Terms"
  3. I think the current mentality of individuals choosing to play CT is the biggest issue with JB and restricting this behavior has helped JB move in the right direction. If you look at the past few discussions about JB, the majority of them have been people asking, or complaining, about rules and changes that restrict them from killing Ts. The two that come to mind are No Cardinal directions and Floor is Lava. These are two recent things that CTs were doing to intentionally confuse Ts and rack up their own kill count. The mentality of a CT where all they see out of the Ts is another kill is what is causing boring round after boring round where Ts are crouch walking backward while knifing the ground from one point to another. I think that several of the recent rule changes to restrict CTs from doing things that only net them kills is a step in the right direction, not the wrong one. I remember in the past I was unable to join JB for more than a round or two because of how bad these situations used to be but as the rules have developed to account for these new players I have been able to join more. One change that helped me return to JB was the addition of Death Games at the two-minute mark. This gives CTs and Ts something to look forward to and stay alive for. My favorite part of JB is death games and I try and partake in any volunteer death game I can because they are fun for both sides. Sure it sucks to lose and die but its rewarding to win. Though, I am not advocating for death games to be allowed any earlier than this mark, I simply wanted to point out a recent change I liked. As far as the discussion that this thread was intended to be about, I think the rule change will do a lot of good for the server when its high pop. As stated earlier a lot of the rule changes have been made to restrict the CTs from causing chaos to feed for kills and on the surface, this rule may look to do the same but I think it will actually provide more control to the CTs. Giving one CT a bit more control over the server will push all the CTs to better work together and create a more enjoyable environment for both sides. While I wish I could go back and play the JB I played so many years ago, I don't believe trying to return the server to the way it used to be is viable. Moving forward with the community that is present is what has been happening and is what should continue to happen. Hop on CT and try to create an environment that you want the server to have.
  4. This was a mindset I had when I initially got into SG JB. I was able to make it all the way through the round and am the last remaining T. I was good, I didn't rebel, I followed orders correctly, I deserve to take on the CTs one on one and get every chance I can to be the victor right? My mindset changed when I began thinking about the rest of the server. LRs can sometimes take a while to get through, especially with four potential people wanting to do their LR. The majority of the server is already dead and wants to get back into the game. By going through and fighting each CT one at a time you are holding them up. You are the last T and thus you get rewarded with your one and Last Request. The chance to take a certain CT on in a fair, one on one fight. The CTs can pardon you if they feel like you deserve it meaning they don't Have to kill you after the LR. So you are allowed to work something out with the CTs after your LR to get another LR in but there is no reason we should stop the CTs from killing you and getting the next round started.
  5. After reading the edit for clarification and talking with some people about it, I don't think this should be considered a reasonable order. I think this order is not straightforward and I do think it's mean to confuse. Saying floor is lava is vague and doesn't give a clear direction to the T for what they need to be doing. Giving this order will cause the Ts to scatter in any and every direction, quickly causing chaos that's hard to keep track of. I also doubt a CT will be able to determine a reasonable number to count down from that will allow all Ts a reasonable amount of time to get off the floor. I also see no use in it being used in conjunction with other orders. An example being "Go to big cage, no floor". While to some this might mean "go to the big cage and get off the floor" to others it might mean "get to big cage without using the floor" which in most cases, isn't possible. That being said, I do think it is a cool and unique modifier to a free day and I think this is the only valid use of "Floor is Lava". Example: "free day, be off the floor by 4:30"
  6. After playing an eventful and exciting match of Rocket League ported to GTA V with some SG members, I got the idea for this event. Rocket League has a built in tournament mode that would easily facilitate this event. Its talked about Here but I'll elaborate more below. The tournament could be set up as 1v1s 2v2s 3v3s or 4v4s. There are also options to play the other game modes rocket league has to offer. My recommendation is a 1v1 or a 2v2 tournament depending on the number of players who state their interest. If we go with the built-in tournament mode, it all plays out at once, meaning, when the first round ends it rolls right into the second round and all first-round matches are played at once. The bracket itself is also made automatically and randomly. Sign-ups for 2v2 would work similarly to SGSL where you can sign up with a team member or you can put your name down solo and pair up later. For 1v1 you would simply need to put your name down. The max number of teams it can sustain is 128. Tournaments can be scheduled to start at a specific time, up to a week form the creation date, allowing teams time to register themselves in the tournament. The tournament can also be passworded. Rocket League also has cross-platform enabled, so if you have rocket league on Xbox but not Steam, you should still be able to participate. Some further testing would need to be done. I think this would be a fun way to have some competition outside of CS:GO.
  7. If they are moving faster than the rest of the group, they arent always shift walking. The model has nothing to do with it
  8. Would this be something that would get added to the map at the bhop section or would it be some sort of command that gets added?
  9. So this is common on some G-Mod TTT servers. Basically it works as such: When you talk a little bar pops up and drains while you have your push to talk button pressed. If it gets to half and you let go of your PTT button the bar slowly refills. If you continue to talk and the bar empties you will not be able to talk any more and the bar will start filling back up again. The amount of time someone can talk before no longer being able to talk would be tweakable. The rate at which the bar refills would also be tweakable. There could also be a small buffer at the bottom of the bar where it needs to refill past a certain point before you can talk again. The argument can be made that this would stop people from being able to call KOSes. The counter to this is that if you're talking enough to where your bar is empty, you were probably talking too much, to begin with. Currently, the amount of useless talking that occurs with 20+ people on already drowns out KOSes, causing people to feel the need to micspam their KOSes, causing more loudness. Or they simply aren't heard at all because they KOS right before they die. This is an idea I really like for when the server reaches a certain population where mic spam isn't necessarily the issue but rather too many people talking to simply add to the loudness and arent actually having a conversation. This could take effect at around the 15 or 20 player point. This might be difficult to implement on the technical side of things tho.
  10. I have no issue with the way the health station is currently. It runs out of charges, its healing takes time, it causes innos to gather around it, it can be destroyed, and it stops working when the detective who placed it dies. I see decent balancing with its usability for one credit.
  11. Map Removal Full map name bhop_frankerz_csgo Type of map Bhop Why should we remove it God this map is so bad. The entire map is a straight line. You hop at speeds from 3000 u/s to 15000 You occasionally avoid obstacles and if you hit one you have to spend the next 2 minutes hopping at 1000 u/s waiting to get to the next jump. The only challenge it poses is of sheer will power and thumb strength. Its a tier one map with a WR of 5 and a half minutes It took me 12 and a half.

  13. That is because I never said there shouldn't be a ff. I simply think that a ff option shouldnt be available right from the start of the match. I dont see a reason why either team should be able to forfeit in the first 10-15 rounds of a game as tides can easily change. This isn't MM, this is a passworded scrim server, that is 95% of the time populated by hopping on the servers and finding people to play or reaching out to people youve seen on the server in the past. You are never going to find a set of 10 players that can be evenly split to create fair balancing. Teams are going to pick their friends and teams are going to get stuck with the last guy. You're not meant to get a 15-15 match that goes into OT every time, you're meant to scrimmage, learn from your teammates and your enemies. Pursuing a perfectly balanced scrim game every time is unrealistic and having every match get forfeited at a 5-0 will not be fun for anyone. In these cases, you dont quit, you figure out what your enemy is doing right, work with your team, and adapt. I support having a forfeit option on the server, but I think it should remain unavailable until it is very clear that one team will not be winning, which I believe is closer to round 12 to 15.
  14. Thanks everyone! It's such an honor and I really appreciate it. What a thing to come back to after a day of being away from my computer. Looking forward to many more months here at SG
  15. I have noticed recently that more care is being put into picking captains that know all the players present. I have seen in the past, though, where players themselves will think from the start that the teams unfair because they dont know either their captain or everyone on their team but all their friends on the other team. These players then throw from the very start and ruin the experience for their whole team. I agree with both of Atrix's statements that more care should go into captains as well as a mismatched score at the half should allow a surrender. The mismatched score should be occasionally map specific as an 11-4 on some maps could very easily turn into a comeback.
  16. I'm sorry to hear that Chad. My grandpa has been in and out of the hospital for pancreatitis attacks during the past year and it's definitely taken a toll on me and my family. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we are all here for each other during any stressful period in our lives. Its healthy to talk these things through with the people around you.
  17. I think following up a warning shot with a restatement of what part of the order they are doing wrong should be standard. This isnt really restricting CTs in anyway, they are shooting at people who are trying to follow orders anyway and taking two seconds to clarify the order isnt taking anything away from the CTs. IF the majority of the Ts are doign the order wrong then clearly something was missed, so instead of shooting everyone doing the order wrong, you shoot one and restate. This helps the rest of the Ts understand the real order and adjust. Also, if a T is doing an order wrong they, more likely then not, simply didnt hear the proper order, so a warning shot with no follow up of what they should be doing doesnt tell them what they should be doing
  18. You are correct, there is a message that shows up. Goes to show how easily missed this is since I didn't know it told me that. An accompanying beep would be very useful tho as this could get quickly buried or missed
  19. There was been a reoccurring issue on TTT where some will hop into traitor voice chat and relentlessly KOS their T buddy. These koses are only audible to the traitors but often the T buddy in question is unaware. This often causes some panic in the T that is getting kosed and they KOS their T buddy in return and/or expose themselves in the process. This is a new trend and can be frustrating for new and old players. I was wondering if there was any way to display to the traitors that one of them is in the traitor voice chat channel and/or talking in the traitor voice channel. This could be as simple as printing a message to the traitor chat, with the accompanying beep, that reads something like "crazedkangaroo has joined the traitor voice channel."
  20. Ive noticed this as well. I thought it might have just been my recent transfer to really crappy internet. About 50% of map changes my csgo CTDs. I moved csgo to my SSD and dont tab out between maps and this has reduced the crash percent to around 25% The issue is not a lot of people have an ssd ** Today I've noticed that instead of crashing, I just get stuck on the changing map screen. retrying then just causes me to not be able to connect and I have to quit and rejoin. This has happened 3 times in 5 map changes
  21. I agree it probably wouldn't work as a server but I would definitely love to see it come back briefly, if even for a day, in the future.
  22. I feel like this issue can be easily solved, now that its been brought to attention, by simply having admins change their names while in spec. There's also the fact that a lot of people don't even know about the call admin command. I agree with Dom that it is pretty easy to see when an admin switches to spec as the disconnect message is quite different from the normal one, and undercover admins are quite noticeable as well. It is a very common occurrence for regulars to call these admins out. I think the bigger issue comes from when an Admin is on and a hacker or a repeat rdmer gets on. These admins then go to spec to collect evidence and people who dont realize that this is procedure for admins or who arent aware of the signs of an admin going to spec, think the admin just left or isnt doing their job. These people then take it into their own hands to "take care of" or rdm the hacker/rdmer. This stops the admin from being able to gather the evidence they need which ends up keeping the rdmer/hacker on longer. Its a tough balance between these two issues but I think exposing an undercover or ghosted admin should be punished to help discourage this behavior in the future.
  23. Yooo im so excited, roughly 1300 of my gmod hours are on TTT but its been a minute
  24. I want to have the number of times you can buy kevlar be limited to once (like a health shot). The main reason for this is because I have repeatedly wasted a credit to the muscle memory of buying armor upon hitting my menu bind. Amount of times I wanted to buy armor a second time to refill = 0 Amount of times I've wasted a credit accidentally buying kevlar = Like 7 to 10 I have also recently heard one person shout in frustration when they bought a second kevlar on accident Armor is also currently pretty powerful so if someone were to sit on top of a health station and rebuy armor they would be pretty strong. So, please make it so we can only buy kevlar once. There really isn't a need to buy it more than that.
