  1. Anyone who does a loophole that sounds like something a 3 year old would do to be an asshat to their parents deserves to be killed in PB. Stupid shit like this is why people stop playing PB if it was allowed. We're not going to write a bible on how to play PB, certain things come down to common sense and if common sense says, "You probably can't do that", just go off that assumption and warning shot/kill them.
  2. Fight the power, you are the rebellion.
  3. @R3TROATTACK @Nuclear Onion Perhaps you two can clear something up for me since I have been wondering this for awhile though it was never a big deal so I haven't had reason to enforce it or whatever: T baiting is considered something you can get shot for so you pretty much do it at your own risk and if someone shoots you for it, you have no rights to shoot them back/kill them/etc. It's just that you fucked up T baiting around the wrong people and now have to get yourself out of it or die for it and its your own fault, yes? I know in Gmod TTT if someone was T baiting on purpose as a Innocent and someone shot them for it, mostly out of understanding, the guy T baiting didn't shoot back and just said, "Whoa whoa I was kidding! I was kidding!" or whatever. However, in the end they understood it was their own fault. Is T baiting prohibited by rules and punishable? Or is it something like, "You shouldn't T bait out of courtesy for other players trying to play the game properly"? Also in Gmod TTT, in the situation that Roux describes, that's grounds for KOS if you get caught in a lie like saying you're proven innocent when you get found out that you aren't. So that is not KOS?
  4. I know yesterday when I was playing, Bubblez was telling a T to stop knifing because he was going to try and move closer to check something and the T was swinging his knife all around. The T then said he can't tell him to stop knifing and Bubblez wasn't sure if that was actually a rule but just let it slide anyways and didn't keep ordering him to stop knifing.
  5. I don't claim to know PB rules to a T. @Nuclear Onion @Wawa However, I think asking a T to stop knifing (Say you're trying to move past them in a small hallway or climb something a T is standing near) is reasonable and should be allowed.
  6. 1 - no vote

@Vick @Crazy Swede @R3TROATTACK Get with the AOs of all servers and try to make sure our mapvotes are the same for each server. I know some servers already have this option, but others don't. We should be universal about this.
  7. Arma 3 just isn't in our playerbase to populate. Unfortunately we won't have the playerbase/server space to support one of our own any time soon.
  8. We'll probably still talk about it there, it's good to get opinions/thoughts out beforehand though so everyone has time to stew on them and address different things at the meeting regarding the subject. What are your thoughts on it?
  9. @Vick Thoughts on changing Course to a Bhop server? In my opinion, it's just a matter of which is the better 'gimmick' server. Proven by past attempts, SG simply doesn't have a group of motivated enough players to make a Bhop/Climb/Course server ever be actually 'populated' and it ultimately draws down to what the minority of players who are interested in these types of servers prefers to play most. I believe in the past we always left up a Bhop server but it was replaced with the Course server since that was in higher demand at the time. We often go back to Bhop and I don't have a problem changing the Course server back to Bhop, I just don't want anyone to be under the impression it will be steadily populated. History has told us that when we re-open a bhop server it gets super active for a couple weeks, but then it dies down to the sort of numbers the Course server bring in nowadays (Couple players every other day or so).
  10. I hate this emote. I'm going to remove it one day.
  11. To give a more elaborated post on this: We try to avoid gimmick servers. We currently have the course server which in my opinion is a very gimmicky server in itself, but that's the only one we have. Bhop/climb servers are 'gimmick' servers in the sense that no one really actively plays them day after day, they just play it whenever they feel like doing it for maybe an hour every few days then never play it again. We don't want to support those servers when we could have more populated servers people will play in and enjoy everyday.
  12. I'm not sure if they'll actually be used as such, but no, I don't care. I went ahead and edited the channel names @Elemental.
  13. Man that was fun. We should do it again sometime. Sent from my mobile meme machine.
  14. Are you still unable to join? Could have been crashed earlier today, but I see it as up and running. If you still cannot join, please give your steamid/ip (google how to find your ip)
  15. God I hate this kids videos with a burning passion. He literally is just continuously rephrasing the question of "Why do we learn these things in school but not these other things that I find important?" while missing the entire point of learning 'pointless' subjects in school. He has the education, but lacks the ability to analyze I suppose why that education is valuable? I have no idea, but it's pretty obvious why we learn a large range of topics in school that many people will often ignorantly call 'useless topics'. First and foremost, if you think there's something you are learning or learned in school that you will NEVER, EVER, apply to life in any way shape or form, you're incorrect. The very fact you learned something means you retain it in some way, shape, or form. Most commonly I hear advanced mathematics courses are 'never going to be used', meanwhile they don't recognize what they're learning from them. Lets take a pretty basic 'advanced' math course most highschools/college degrees require you to take: Physics. What do you learn in physics that you think you will never apply? While it may be true that you will not use the algorithms, the numbers, the angles, the cos/sin/tan of degrees in everyday life, you are still learning something that retains with you for the rest of your life. When you look at a window washer platform on the side of the building, and you see one of the ropes snap, imagine your head what it looks like, you can can't you? You know which way the platform is going to swing, you know it's going to not just flop down and remain straight, you know it's going to swing because of momentum. You know that it's going to swing back the other direction, but not go as far because gravity + momentum slows it down so it never swings all the way back to its original position. You know how much force is behind it judging off of what it's made out of/whats on it, how fast it's swinging. All of these things you probably know and go "That's common sense" but try and explain it to a 5th grader. Hell, try and explain it to some kids that never took those classes or could even fathom them. You will have a hard time. The reasons for this is simple, the classes so many kids and this guy see as useless information 'we will never use and are forced to learn' form the basic fundamentals of understanding how the world works. You don't have to memorize the algorithms or the math, but think of them as definitions of a brand new word you're learning in the dictionary of life. You may use words that you could precisely define in your everyday life, but you know what they mean and how to use them properly in a sentence. What you learn in school is the same. History classes teach us what the mistakes the human beings of the past have learned from. Again, there's information you probably learned in history that you don't even recognize you learned but you apply to your everyday life. Most importantly is the quote mentioned previously in this thread, if you don't learn from the past you are doomed to repeat it. If you honestly think something hasn't been tried before, you fight valiantly to give it a try and don't handle being shot down very well, correct? What if you learned it had been tried before, and failed miserably, then you're more receptive to alternatives. History has thousands of years of people trying something and failing, and even if we are more technological advanced, there's fundamentals there that can be still learned from and adapted to work today. See Sun Tzu's Art of War as a perfect example, written in 5th century BC and still have viable strategic war tactics that are used even today. The point is that school teaches fundamentals that you require to learn more information, and if you don't memorize the details, you understand the concepts and that's the important part that school is meant to teach you. The fact you are CAPABLE of learning something more advanced, means school did its job. If advanced learning was not mandatory for various subjects, I guarantee you there will be people completely unaware of how a pendulum works or why shadows aren't pitch black when they're 'blocking light'. The generations will be come more stupid the more we give them the freedom to do pointless things they prefer or learn something important. You don't have to enjoy learning, as long as you learn SOMETHING while you're in the class. If everyone expects everything to be easy and only learn what they want to learn, they will become one dimensional, boring, and people will fail to learn anything outside of their perfect bubble comfort zone. It's crippling to a race to allow TOO MUCH freedom when it comes to development (as we've seen with some of these ignorant mothers who refuse to put their kids in any kind of hard work environment and they become spoiled brats), if you want to advance, you have to learn from past mistakes and you have to be willing to learn something you may not enjoy, but know it's going to serve some benefit somewhere else in your life. The chances are, this kid has all the tools to learn how to sign a voting ballot, and an understanding of the world to know what he'd like to see in it. That's thanks to the amount of world context and information that school "forced" into him. He maybe didn't enjoy it, but he's sure as hell benefiting from it.
  16. It hits a clipping around the fountain, most likely. It would be like awping someone in the head through a box the width of the fountain, hence the awp only doing like 17 damage.
