Used to run a hardware review website, as part of our publicity stuff we connected with gaming communities and offered gear for raffles reviews etc. talked to Jacksparrow and red, then haggard, had grim bitch at me for talking to jen on 4way tunnel for the week after, and so it goes.

i find myself rather disappointed reading this. mostly because it seems to have wasted my time and energy feeling obligated to respond to this regurgitated pap. I am grateful that people realize and appreciate the efforts of former and current staff, but shadow, it isn't your community, though you are a part of it, and I'll be quite honest, after reading the thread, I am left feeling like you have zero actual perspective on what this community is, or was setup to be. there are very few people in this community that should post something like this thread, and while your intentions may have been good, you come across as an egotistical jackass. As and SA/EC this isnt your place, stop treading when you have no comprehension, much less any knowledge or experience with what is really going on and what these people leaving means or does not. locking this before I just start banning people.

at this point minigames should be fully ready to go, thats models maps sounds etc all compressed or sent to FDL. if there are issues please let me know escape is compressing now for faster maps and such though the main bsp's are there now pb is compressing as well

yes fast download models and materials are being added, but that takes alot more time

First the Good News I have restored fastdownload access to the Escape, Minigames and the maps are uploading for PrisonBreak. This is if anything a temporary fix as Astrum and I work toward a permanent solution, however the good news is that it is all running off of our new host box. I will be enabling the rest of the servers as they are done syncing their fast downloads data. We are still waiting on our webhost to give us access to the various stuff the removed, however all currently in rotation maps are uploaded to fast download or will remain off fast download until they are and then turned on. (AO's you can thank Me later for saving your bandwidth) I will update this as we go further, however again this is likely to be temporary as we begin to formally move this website and its various stuff over to the new box, and then begin the DNS propagation again. I will update this thread as we move forward. Edit for ease of reading MG is done, PB done Surf done Trikz/Bhop done Defuse done Escape etc are on fast downloads for maps but are compressing for models etc as we speak. Please bear with the lag, I know it is eating alot of resources, but once done, the servers will not need to do this massive a compress job hopefully for a very long time.

surprising? no, ridiculously business savvy marketing absolutely. intel de binned those chips as rejects from their faster lines, so there is no issue turning them on "halfway" if it were. also most people can not comprehend swapping a cpu out for more power (joe q public) so a card /code /bios update tha does it for you for x amount is sheer marketing profit . i would hope they dont roll that out on their oem/ retail boxed cpus, as well as what looks like their prepacked gateway pc boxes that it works on currently the car industry has done this for years... you really think mercedes and bmw's top out at 155mph every year? hell no, they have the same speed limiter as most high performance cars then you pay "extra" for a model that doesnt have the limiter. (actually paying more for less electronics sensor etc that control the unit.)

we would have decided today, but tbh its PB so A. we didnt care , and B. you didn't include tits so we told the CA agenda to GTFO. but really, its more because every time we do a major PB shift there is a metric ton of issues with the playerbase, so we would rather trial longer then force rules that hurt game play on the populace.
