i would recommend grabbing the cd your video card came with and using those drivers to start with. remove the old ones entirely, and restart your pc, then you can try going to the nvidia website to grab the latest drivers for your card and vista. as for the choke try typing fps_max 125 and see if that doesnt help a bit along wit the new drivers. you can also disable vistas aero interface and such that can really beat your card if you have to.

try removing it while in safemode of windows. (hold f8 when the pc is booting) then choose safemode with networking. before you do that grab mcafee stinger (google it) its a stand alone scanner that will run in safemode where most scanners cannot. should help clean up stuff. becareful though kernel32.dll is your main os kernel so if you arent sure do not delete it without having backedup your data. and if you have backups recently scan them for the virus as well. they like to hide in the recovery data sections.

globalbans supports Sourcemod, as well as mani, even at the same time if you wish to define specific roles, however we have an active sourcebans site that I am testing and we announced we were... at least 2 months ago. sourcebans = globalbans in the way it works and how it treats servers etc, there is no difference except that if i ban you in a game a use sm_ban, not a separate menu that being said SM gives us (as in the community) flexibility in areas we need atm and mani doesnt yet. yes sourcemod/ban supports newer games, but the biggest reasons for swapping is that the maker of globalbans is no longer around, a french guy has picked up where soynuts left off, but the structure of Eventscripts itself is harder to modify to work within the newer valve engines, and since GB relies on ES, you can see the issue. Sourcebans and its various dependencies are all supported by allied modders, they are fairly prompt in fixing issues, and since their system, metamod,(metamod does their conversion from PAWN scripting to C++/assembly in the backend) is updated all the time as new games come out, it means we are less likely to be left fixing our own plugins. also ther are many newer automation systems designed to mesh into sourcemod and sourcebans to enable faster response time to supporters who donate, and admins etc. lastly while the !gtfo menu was nice as it separated banning from admin, mani/gbans doesnt define immunities nor ban unban rights the way SM does. so instead of expecting admins to not abuse other admins, setting immunity does it for us I've used beetles admin, mani, SM and a host of others in my time from 1.4 to now. that being said none is "better" then the others, but for what the community needs now, SM is fitting better, with a smaller footprint on server resources. yes ther are some security issues within SM but that is why I am testing it and we arent just rolling it out. since GBans supports SM, I will likely import the ban list into both sites while we settle the kinks over the summer etc, so if necessary we can simply swap back. without weeks of work.

ok well lets start with what your netgraph_3 settings tell you while you are playing? do you see alot of choke? you getting in and out on a 100 tic server of 100?(try a non busy server the busier the worse the tic gets) check your rates cl_cmdrate 101 cl_updaterate 101 rate 30000 fps_max 200 (or less) then you might want to check and tell me what your cl_interp is set to as well. those numbers can get messed up fairly easily and they will murder your reg and gameplay.

sorry gonna have to weigh in here a bit and say that the motherboard design is highly dependent on the price. evga generally makes some of the highest preforming motherboards out there, but you pay for that quality with a massive sticker shock price tag. also since components like solid state capacitors and vram chips are all NOT created equally, there have been shortages . whether they are price fixing again like they did so many times before is unknown, but low numbers of high preforming parts = big price increases. its why ddr3 ram and top end motherboards are very expensive compared to the comparable ddr2 stuff once they broke the price fixing scheme. as for the various differences in the core i3-i7, the chips themselves besides larger cache and faster speeds, also have better binned cpus (an i7 that under preforms may become an i5 with the bad area locked off) similar to the amd xII and x3 processors that all started as 4 cores but had some disabled or slowed down due to not passing QC. Its called lower binning. the higher level of the i sxeries supports more fuctions ie the x58 motherboards with the i7 9 series support sli/CF with both cards at 16x. and require matched sticks of memory (generally ddr3) and best performance is seen with 3 sticks in triple channel. the i7 8 and lower use a different socket and support 1 PCIE card with full 16x speeds, they may run similar speeds but are more mainsteam processors and combinations to reduce sticker shock (I7-9 x58 motherboards are generally 250-350 for an enthusiast board) the I7-8 series are fine processors, especially for gaming, but they are cheaper with less enthusiast stuff included to make it easier for the market to handle. i5 was aimed at the office or basic gaming people who dont need any bells and whistles and the i3 is for people who just need a pc to do email internt and such. while the i3 is positioned as a very good mobile processor and laptop, it is not a gaming processer.

if you mean ddr3 at 1333 in a 1000 slot yes you can, the mem has to be a matched set though. (same mem sticks in the same slots)
