btx actually makes sense. the rest of the industry doesn't move because there's no need to anymore. Intel themselves designed BTX, but stopped support when they realized "woah.. we can like.. make the CPUs have more than one core, and more efficient!" (they designed it around halfway or so through P4's lifetime, and at the time only saw the need to run at higher GHz, as opposed to more efficient). But, since the CPU runs more efficiently, and since cases and motherboards are designed better now, fans or what have you can do plenty fine. But i can certainly see why from a business standpoint why you'd want BTX. They only use one big fan in the front, and a big exhaust grill in the back, and thats all they need (beyond the rather large heatsink that said large fan blows across first). This would obviously save a whole lot when it comes to the bottom line.

don't look at this as a reason to "look forward to moving out". Look at this as "my parents fucking give half a shit about me". I can easily agree that its hard to give a shit about school, but can you honestly say you'd rather play video games and shit all day now when you're young and dumb, or get a good education and be able to live comfortably later in life (for the vast majority of your life, in fact). Maybe having your computer gone entirely for a while will let you remember that under your parents roof, fun is a privilege, one that is only allowed to children that can get their shit together and do the things that are important first. (aka, dont read a book instead.. do the homework you havent been doing.. ask your teachers for extra credit, accept late papers or anything so that you don't fail) Other than that, sorry to hear that dude... come back when you've got your grades at a respectable level. Also.. if you find your schoolwork actually hard... dont just give up or guess or whatever because you're anxious to get on CS or whatever. Ask your parents, your friends, or.. *gasp* your teachers for help. ESPECIALLY your teachers! They know what they teach, and are THERE to HELP!

BTX is the same as ATX, just backwards and with the CPU facing a different way. all components work with it, just you cant put it in an atx case.

Naw I agree with him. The time i had it, with some good tasting bread stuff, it was amazing and I couldn't get enough... until around the 10th bite, and it starts tasting like a thick paste of shouldnt-be-eaten. uh, i eat alot of stuff, but the stuff I consider weird would be stuff i mix together. (because squid/octopus, especially fried, i consider "good") That being said, I use to think that there was no such thing as "too much cheese". Well, one day my friend decided to make me stop thinking that, and told me to shove two entire handfuls of goldfish into my mouth and chew them. I upped the ante, adding a near dollop of easy cheese, and wrapping the whole disgusting mass inside of an american single. Needless to say... THERE IS SUCH A THING AS TOO MUCH CHEESE. PLEASE DO NOT TRY THE ABOVE. it was terrible, but i eated it :x

not just the price. the other gripes i have with them (as with nearly all other prebuilders) are the shittiest OEM versions of things they can throw into the computer (like if you order an x-fi you get a shitty one that can't record), and most importantly, they lock the motherboard down like you wouldn't imagine. (note that i cant blame them sadly, it protects their ass when it comes to warranty)

ah. i have to give respect to people that pay that much for an OS. while in pub. school, i always just got ahold of a VLK copy while at the computer center. and now.. well, we all know what i do now ;) also, my laptop has vista (keep forgetting to put windows 7 on it), but the battery lasts a full hour LONGER on vista with aero etc ENABLED on vista as opposed to XP. this is because vista/7 were designed with "modern technology" in mind, and therefore maximize its use of battery life. Well that, and the laptop was designed with vista in mind, and so the drivers they have to control the "power mode" work vastly better.

of course it can. you may even have to revalidate windows if you change the gfx card and have bad luck.

no need for clarification. it thinks his copy isnt valid. almost as if its accusing him of using SLIC, even though he has a legit Dell rofl. tbh other than the disc, your hope may reside in calling up dell. if you decide to go another route, say, clicking a link slightly below this post, you should be able to install on top of vista and still have all of your files and programs installed ;).
