sure, i just am trying to figure this out beyond googling a dirty fix like that, i don't have this problem, just the dual monitor insta-crash. (if anyone has 2 screens and uses w7, css crashes when loading for whatever reason. the way you fix it is to right click css's hl2.exe and under compatibility, check "disable desktop composition") EDIT: also, have you checked what frequency you have the monitor set to? if the Hz is out of range, it will make your monitor do some funky things. still googling for this nasty fix of red's but so far all i've got is try putting -freq 75 EDIT2: The fix is probably -full also, an attempt at a real fix: for either of you, in your Nvidia Control Panel, under scaling, do you have "fixed aspect ratio" or "nvidia scaling with fixed ratio" or some sort checked? because that could be the problem.. otherwise, just strange/offmarket monitors i suppose (and with SS's being hp, i don't doubt it too much) Also, SS, you don't need to go to windowed mode to take a screen shot.. just hit f5. it auto saves a .jpg in your css folder under screenshots or something like that.

what kind of card do either of you have? your monitor red? because i've never even heard of this problem. also, SS, you've tried putting css at the native res? (i'd assume you have windows set to the native res)

i mean i know he said documents specifically, but if i had a flash drive big enough for the stuff i backup pre-format.. damn. (they DO sell them that large, but for prices so outrageous i'd rather waste my cash on a velociraptor drive tbh)

set the res to what you want it to, and restart the game. if its at the res you want, THEN put it to window and maybe thatll work. also, do you have it set to 4:3 or 16:9 or 16:10? if you have it set to 4:3 but then in a window on a widescreen monitor, it may letterbox on its own.

he meant "access to" FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, and he meant he could let him upload the files to the server and d/l them later. (http is for websites, ftp is used for files) although this is disingenuous because FTP is used to manage a remote HTTP server (by uploading http files rofl)
