computers run off of the room temperature unless you're liquid cooling. In the mornings/overnight my house is at 63 degrees , but the point is it makes my ambient temp go to ~25 C and the rest of the day when the temp is turned to 69 or so its ~30.

most asus mobos use nvida's chipsets lol (but i agree about the quality of asus) and meh@ crts. honestly, there is nothing that a crt can do better than an lcd now, you want refresh rates? they make them in 120 now.

eh, in that case i wouldnt worry about it. unless it goes to ~80C under load you're under no worry whatsoever. I bet the cpu and everything else gets better temps for a tradeoff.

i agree with andre for the most part as always. I cannot, in good faith, suggest the 975 extreme. its not that much better than the one below it that is VASTLY cheaper. the price is outrageous just because it has an unlocked multiplier. I seriously doubt you would want to OC that badly anyway.

thats all well and good, but you didn't answer all of his question. We need to know what direction all of the fans are pointing. Preferably, you'd do this: Front: intake (blowing inwards) Top: exhaust (outwards) Back: exhaust Bottom: intake Side: The one most directly over the cpu should be exhaust, the other should be intake.

i understand and agree with you, but the whole campus thing doesn't apply unless you live on campus. a college campus is all on the same lan, and so yes, a virus can and will infect them, but it does not work the same with an isp, if one user gets infected not every other subscriber does.

i've had perfect luck for over 10 years. the vulnerabilities you discuss i am very aware of, but am not that worried about. Odds are unless you made the wrong enemies anyone with the resources to use one of said vulnerabilities would never think twice about your existence.

I used it for a while, i'd use it right now if i didn't dread doing it all over again in a year or whenever it comes out. when i used the beta before the RC1, in css i got like a 40 fps boost.
