It's 2022 and y'all arguing about CSGO servers. That ship has sailed. SG needs to move away from this current iteration of counter-strike being its main focus. Getting a community primarily based in CS to accept that is the hard part.

Maybe I’m retarded too but I didn’t read his first post as pro-either side. If anything it read like he wanted people to think critically about the situation and their opinions on it. I know typically I’m jumping all over posts like this but I think the reaction in this thread was unwarranted. I see what you’re getting at at the end there but this reads like a geopolitics assignment being issued. I haven’t been following this too closely mostly because I don’t really care as it doesn’t affect me or my way of life in any tangible capacity other than gas prices, but from the clips and snippets I have seen, it looks like Russia is wanting to renegotiate its place in the pecking order as it feels embarrassed by its own perception following the end of the Cold War. There are some very valid concerns regarding the state of the community that do need to be addressed but this was not the way to go about it. Aside from coming off as noctember v2 (minus the actual useful skills he possesses) you’re clearly not happy with the direction the community is going and that’s okay… what’s not okay is the way you’re wording your post and the amount of topics that you have absolutely no bearing or authority to even begin talking about since you have no fucking clue how things work at the very top of this community. If you actually want your opinion to matter come up with viable solutions and work your way back up the chain so that they actually get traction. Hell, @kabLe and I could sit here and offer advice all day and even as a former ATM and BD respectively our shits not going to get pushed because we’re no longer staff. SG is definitely on a down swing but by no means does that indicate that it’s dead. Should probably chill out with the dick swinging in here though cause it’s not gonna get you anywhere other than looked at as an annoying pestilent child considering you’ve made no actual attempts to further the community on any meaningful level. problem is the same as it’s always been. Qualified people who know their shit either get burned out here or relationships behind the scenes lead to one side falling out. We’ve lost a ton of objectively good staff here over minor issues through the years and it’s starting to add up since people like you who obviously care do not do things like apply for staff and work towards making the community viable for the next generation. don’t listen to me tho I’m a retard

Imma keep it a buck with you champ, no one with the power to make this happen is going to put an idea like this forward. The writing has been on the walls for years at this point, playerbase issues have been discussed ad nauseam through multiple iterations of server managers on JB specifically. When you get to a certain point here the regular everyday bullshit doesn’t affect you so it’s not a huge priority, why would staff that doesn’t spend much time on any of the servers care about server level issues? Do they care about the situation from a superficial level? Sure, no one wants to run a dying community, but that’s not enough to incentivize actual change. They’re going to continue to “do their best” to revive the servers under the current parameters and we all know what repeating the same actions and hoping for different outcomes is. If you really want change, apply for staff and play the politics to the top where you can actually do something about the issues that you care about here, otherwise it will get dumpstered for other projects that would try to cover up the gaping reality that shits in dire straits again instead of focusing on the root cause. while I am appreciative of all the work that staff puts in here and understand that the majority of roles here are voluntary it’s obvious who actually cares about the success and sustainability of the community and who is just doing the bare minimum to maintain status. I’m not expecting people to dump their entire life in to this place but if you have a chance to make a positive impact on a community that has likely been here before some of you even learned to wipe your own ass and will probably be around long after your respective lives get more complicated and you leave, you should probably shit or get off the pot. not all of that aimed at you daft but if you really care about the success and sustainability of this place then repair whatever damage you did to relationships beyond SA and use some of the passion you’re displaying here to work your way into a position that you can actually achieve real change in instead of wasting your energy shouting into the void as a regular.
