If you only have a PC, then i would recommend a PS3 over a 360, due to the fact that the majority of 360 exclusives are also on the PC (L4D, Gears of War, Fable 2, Mass effect, etc, etc) While PS3 exclusives are only on the PS3 (exception being MMOs released by SOE)

no way in hell will a laptop last you 4 years for gaming... dont waste your money, wait for the DX11 cards (HD5870 or the x2 of it, or wait for the G300 cards) and build a desktop... definitely be cheaper and you'd have by far more power in you're machine, that will last for awhile.
