  2. I've done that many a time when a T asks 'What are the rules?' and the CTs are too stupid to announce anything. Not sure if that's against the rules (I can't imagine it being, unless the person was constantly doing it and ignored the CTs/Ts request to stop), but it's funny to watch the CTs go apeshit trying to control everything. PS: PB is a great way to relieve stress depending on the kind of day you had. Angry at the bosses, you play as a T and stab the mother fuckers. Angry at the customers, you play a CT and boss everyone around. It's quite relaxing.

  4. WoW Kid Take 2

That brings back memories. I used to be somewhat like that when I was play Counter-Strike in the late 90's. I would always get pissed off and yell when I died. I wouldn't threaten the people, I'd just throw a 5 second hissy-fit. We didn't have mics back then.

  6. STFU!

Very nice growth. Glad to see a great community expanding its membership. Can you do a member count by month?
  7. Are you wearing a cape? If so, that's fucking bad ass.
  8. It has nothing to do with enemies or adversaries. It's just how networked viruses work. I worked for my campus's internet security group. When Blaster and Korgo hit we were inundated with trying to block off those ports and notifying the person that owns the PC to get it fixed. Hundreds, if not thousands, of computers were affected on our campus alone. It had nothing to do with someone running an executable or having some script kiddie 'hack' their system. It was just a networked worm that used an open Windows vulnerability to compromise, and spread through, many systems. Anyway, I have nothing more to say on this matter. You've made your point and I've made mine. I just want to make sure people get all the information needed to make the correct choice.
  9. IBM thinkpad

Most graphics cards on older laptops, and a lot of modern ones, cannot be swapped out. They are built into the motherboard. What's the model of the laptop? There might be some guides on how to take it apart (it's not always as easy as unscrewing it and having a look inside.)
  10. You should be able to log into the router on a PC that's connected to it. Look up the manual for your router for the IP and default login/password. Typically, it's 192.168.1.1 with a login as admin and the password is blank.
  11. Could have some gunk stuck under the mouse button that's preventing it from depressing the switch all the time. You can try to take it apart (usually 1-3 screws) and checking out the mouse buttons. A Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol can be used to clean it as the alcohol will evaporate and not cause any harm. Your best bet is to get a new mouse. I recommend the Logitech MX518.
  12. Windows 7

It's not that Windows Vista uses a lot of memory, it's that Vista is optimized to take advantage of unused resources. It might look like it's using 1.6GB/2.0GB, but the moment a program runs and needs memory, Vista clears it up. It's quite intelligent and a very smart move. Windows 7 does the same thing but it uses even less than Vista. With Vista, I had about 2-2.5GB/8GB used at any given moment. In Windows 7, it's using 1.9GB currently. Granted, I have a shitton of RAM, but at work I only have 2GB and it utilizes about 400MB.
  13. Virtual Dub is probably one of the more popular free video editing softwares out there. Adobe Premiere Express (http://www.Photobucket.com) is decent, though extremely lacking on any advanced filters/techniques. Honestly, if you want to do video editing, get Adobe Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas. Both are outstanding products and far superior than WMM. There is a bit of a learning curve but it's not that hard and you don't need to use all the features. I think Sony Vegas is easier to pick up and learn than Premiere, simply because Premiere has some of the more mundane shit hidden away in not-so-obvious places.
  14. I suppose. I really, really liked the IceMat but there was something off with it that kept causing scraping noises with several mice I tried. I replaced the teflon tape several times and it'd be fine for a few days and then continue with the horrific noise. It just wasn't worth it, to me at least. It is a great mouse pad and coaster
  15. I never played GMod, let me know when you guys play, I'm kind of interested now.
  16. It's called the Solstice, in case anyone cares. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solstice
  17. Icemat = nails on a chalkboard. I don't know if they ever changed it or not but that teflon tape didn't do shit either. I use an X-Trac Ripper XL (17" mouse pad).
  18. The G1 does have an accelerometer. And yes, the G2 does not have a keyboard which will turn many people away. I'm glad the Palm Pre has a keyboard because it's such an amazing OS (decent phone) and it would have been ruined without a physical keyboard. The G1 has a lot of weird quirks that take some getting used to and I read that many of those are fixed with the G2. Read some reviews and articles and check out the phones in a T-Mobile store to see which you like better.
  19. You still don't understand how these worms and viruses work. You think someone needs to access your system or you need to execute something. There are these things called 'remote vulnerabilities' meaning you do NOT need local access to a machine. It may very well be that nothing will happen but you're living in ignorance, so good luck with that.
  20. Windows 7

I'm using it now at home and at work. It's great. Looks great and feels smoother than Vista. I like the new taskbar but I do miss the right-click context (move/restore/etc). All games run flawlessly and Windows 7 detected, downloaded, and installed drivers for every piece of hardware (including my GTX 280). Also found the RAID controller I use at work. I didn't have to download a single driver. I love it. It is by far the best Windows release. It's like going from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95, it's that good. There's a lot of performance enhancements and other tweaks but I don't want to get into all of that, there are plenty of articles that do.
  21. Please don't tell me he bought an AlienWare PC or VooDooPC. Those are such an amazing waste of money. I'd rather get a Dell
  22. Right, that's exactly what I'm talking about. It doesn't matter if you know what you download, there are vulnerabilities in Windows that can be exploited without the need to run an executable. Thank you for proving my point.
  23. Game Crash

Check out http://www.Guru3d.com, they have a great forum and downloads section for video drivers. Next time a game crashes, can you write down the error or take a screen shot of it? I'd need to see the 'Technical Details' on the error window to get an idea of what could be causing it. If not, look in the Event Viewer (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer) and under Applications, look for errors corresponding to the game in question. Double click on it and paste the contents here. Could be anything, really, but without any error information it's nigh impossible to determine what the cause is.
  24. I have a Logitech MX518 mouse and Saitek Eclipse keyboard. I am a wireless mouse fanatic and have used just about every wireless mouse on the market but found this wired mouse supreme. It's spot-on and amazingly comfortable and light. I do miss my MX1000 and G7 wireless mice, but this is so much better. Logitech's new Revolution mouse looks retarded as does Microsoft's gaming mouse with the weights in it. Razer make great mice but it cannot compete with the MX518, it's night and day.
