I've had quite a few questions regarding the edibility of my gingerbread house. YES - everything is edible. Ingredients I used. 1 - Gingerbread (made myself using a recipe found at http://www.foodnetwork.com) 2 - royal icing (recipe also found at http://www.foodnetwork.com) I used the icing as glue and as stucco on the sides of the house. Also to hold the grass down. 3 - 14 packages of Chocolate Necco wafers. (Shingles for the roof) 4 - Coconut with green food coloring used for the lawn. 5 - (And I guess this is the real reason I've had so many people ask) Rolled Fondant. It is primarily used for wedding cakes. For more info on what it is http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-fondant.htm I added food coloring to the fondant to get the colors I wanted then cut out all of the following. Guns - Boards for the windows - Sign above the door & doormat - Driveway & sidewalk - I also wrapped the chimney in the stuff and then made the brick texture before it hardened. If left for more than a day it will harden on the outside and become very stiff. 6 - I also used pretzels for the railing and ladder inside. (I had planned on putting in a fence and a few other details but ran out of time.) I was also going to use black string licorice to make razor wire around the house but couldn't find any in local stores. I tried the regular licorice but it just didn't look right. If anyone has any other questions.. just ask I'd be more than willing to answer. (This house took about 20 hours to make.)

My questions would be... What brand HD do you have? Have you run the manufacturer's diagnositc/repair utility. For example Hitachi has a util called "Drive Fitness Test" That will not only tell you if there is a problem but mark bad sectors as bad and skip them so that when you try to use the drive again it won't try to write to failed areas on the drive. Not saying that it can be fixed..but in about 1/4 of the cases I've seen this work. Even if you don't have a Hitatchi drive Drive fit test will tell you if there are any problems with the drive itself. If you have access to another computer and can burn a cd. There is a compilation bootable cd with a ton of hardware diagnostic utilities called "ulitimate boot cd" you might want to check it out. http://www.ubcd4win.com/

Here's a few more pics.. This is all the gingerbread pieces that went into the house... Plus I had to bake more for the stairs and the people/zombies. The ruler gives you an idea of the size of the house. Yes I put the lawn in before I poured the cement.

This is my first attempt at a (non-standard) gingerbread house. ALL items used in this house are edible. I can provide a list of what was used if needed. And yes.. I put stairs, railings, a ladder, and other shite inside.. not sure why since you can't see it when it was done. My favorite parts of the house (those that turned out the same way I imagined them) the root and chimney. I have a ton more photos.. and didn't finish it as well as I would have liked.. I ran out of time.
