  1. The good money says this will probably require a subscription. Wave of the future.... But maybe its worth it.
  2. I went the this guild's website to get the back story. Evidently this is old. Happened almost two years ago. Very old indeed....
  3. I would also like to file a request for the return of no-clip. First, for the same reason venemous stated. Secondly, I use no clip to un-stick people. Turning no-clip on and off quickly will "pop" a player out of another. This seems to be the most fair solution as that the person in now unstuck at their current location as opposed to being teleported back to the spawn area or elsewhere because my teleport is usually located in a position to punish teamkillers.
  4. If you keep saying AHHHH, Al Gore will ban you from the internet.
  5. Legalsmash, you have many valid points. I always enjoy reading your posts. Yours are some oh the most informative on the forum. I agree with what you have to say in your last post. I too, am alarmed by the unresponsivenss of BB. It is sad that the situation had to escalate to the level of legal involvment for any action to occur on their part. I have been to BB. Not many employees there over the age of 25. In business we have a saying, "The person you pay the least, will often, cost you the most." Accidents happen, but I would bet that her lost computer was a result of negligence. I would like for more people to post in this thread and give their opinion of this situation as well. We have a responisibility to ourselves, and to our fellow man to be compassionate and to take action against all those who would cause us harm.
  6. The ability to exercise action, should not be confused with whether or not the action is conscienable. We used to call this "common sence." Your comments concerning my case were lucid and well thought out. I appreciate your interpretation. I could address each one, but I think we would digress from the intent of this thread. I'll sum up. We were found at fault for most of the reasons you listed. The store was in Florida. Ice happens about 3 times a year. Most people are not at all prepared for this occasonial occurance. But because someone had an accident, I was sued. But once again, I was breaking no laws. Yet I am still out thousands of dollars. I agree that Best Buy is in the wrong. That is why i beleve that $4,100 is a resonable compensation for her lost computer and her time and aggravation. Like it or not, shit happens. We are all bound to be screwed at some point. How we respond is what seperates us as individuals.
  7. Guys, some day you might be on the other side of the fence. As a business owner, I get sued from time to time. Frivolous lawsuits are killing this country, not George Bush. I think this is my favorite lawsuit to date. A woman was exiting one of my stores and she was struck by a car that hit a patch of ice and slid into her. So she took us to court and sued us for many thousands of dollars (after we had already paid for all of her midical expences). Well, to make a long story even longer, she won and she got a huge settlement. The real kicker of the story is that it was her own husband that hit her. I don't understand why business are responsible for the idiocy of individuals. Just so there is no confusion, my building is 100% in compliance with every health safety ordanance that I am aware of, and many precautions were taken to aviod this exacy incident. I was sued for someone having an accident that, lucky for me, occured on my property. I was breaking no laws, but because of the greed of two individuals, the lady and her attorney, my business lost a large sum of money. I know I got off topic. I think this women probably deserves the $4,100 offered to her. Not the 54 million that she is asking for. Honestly, when she went into the lawyer's office, she probably just wanted to get her money back and the lawyer convinced to to jack it up to 54 mil. Ask legalsmash what percentage (I forget) of the settlement the lawyer's will recieve and everyone will understand why they are suing for this amount. You will be suprised. This is the lawyers fault, not the legislative branch of government. Lawmakers cannot forsee every angle that someone can interpret their laws. It is our responsibility, as individuals, to act as resonable Americans. I believe in the Golden Rule and I think the application of this rule in our daily lives can make a difference.
  8. What If?

I would grab my 12 gauge. Run down my driveway, which for some odd reason, has two stones at the end that will crush you if you stop between them (I think the previous owner of my house installed them to thwart solicitors trying to sell encyclopedias). Cross the two rope bridges that we installed over the sinkholes. Jump on the ferry boat (My boat captain is very schedule conscience, he always launches the boat at 5:03 am, dont be late because he pee's in the water. It will sting if you fall in.) Then I run down this long hill, (Dont forget to score some herb), to get on the public ferry. A few years ago, I dug a quicksand trap near these last two ferry's in case I had children. Child (or noob): Why is this black and purple sign here? Me: Dunno son (or noob), go explore it. Child (or noob): Okay. Child (or noob): eeeeeeeeG, Im sinking!!!! Me: Oh yea, now I remember. I think someone with updated video drivers told me the sign said "Quicksand." Oh well, I have a boat to catch. Bye. The public ferry's are fun (I think "street performers" ride these things because some one is always jumping around or from boat to boat.) We then go to an island, with no supplies, and wait to die of hunger.
  9. In the US, having sex with someone under the age of 18 is statutory rape. Its obviously a typo. Probably supposed to be 27.
  10. My story is remakable similiar to Jaffa's. I started playing zombie back when all the maps were just night versions of all the css maps. The only illumination was from your flashlight. I'll be honest, when playing at night in a dark room, I would jump a little when I got stabbed by a zombie. It was pretty creepy. Like Jaffa, then came the maps that were made specifically for zombe mod. Lila Panic, was probably the most popular map back then. Some with jetpack to mix it up. Some with unlimited ammo. I was on my favorite server (atm), and then we swithched to a new map called "Boat Escape." Yes, the original. At that moment, I fell in love with escape maps. I went searching for a server that was all escape map, which led me to here. My first session on these servers was late summer of 2007. I have been little elsewhere since. These are the best zombie servers that I have ever experienced. And I think that is reflected that the server is almost always full. We could have a 50 slot escape server and it would still be full.
  11. Freeze only works for a few sec (less than 10), then they are unthawed. Slapping is not effective in seperating stuck players. Higher values on both of these items would be nice. If they are adjustable.
  12. Stay Out! This is my house!

  13. por favor!!!

I'm so pissed reading this. I don't even know what to write other than the money is not yours. You didn't earn it. For all you know, that is all the money that person has to support his family. Give the money back.
  14. I like the vertical line on either side of SG. Good clean look. But I also appreciate the preservation of continuity from the brackets of ZM as well.
  15. Other than the sodamid, thats the most organized computer desk I have ever seen.
  16. Your's or his?
  17. Well Silient, life is a dynamic process. Change is always present, and so is the need for adaptability. I have lived in 3 different timezones in the past 5 years, and I getting ready to move again. The one constant thru the years is friends. Although I have never shook anyone's hand here, I do value every person that I have met. You efforts to the community will be missed, and I hope that your absence will be brief. Good Luck in your future endeavor, I wish you all the best. Your buddy, *blank*
  18. My computer is about 6 years old. 2.4ghz, 256 ram, 128 video card. I run CSS at medium settings. TF2 does put a hurt on my machine. My fps is okay as long as there isn't a lot of action. I think I would enjoy TF2 a lot more if I had a better machine. Portal alone is worth the $30. I loved that game. Orange box also includes episode 1 and 2.
  19. I don't know if this is possible. But Red, you may want to consider changing your name on the fourms to same name that you use in-game. I have a feeling that the confusion as to who you are may plague you for a while. Especially if the person who uses "Red" in the servers is irritating everyone. Perhaps someone who has more experience with forum capabilities can help you.
  20. I remember seeing the name [CC]Soviet on the servers. He didn't draw any attention to himself, which is good. I'll keep an eye out for you so if you do go forward for admin, I can leave a recomendation. Cheers!
  21. I'm a commercial pilot by profession, and my wife and I are part owners in a pizza franchise in west Florida. If you think its bad having 20 teenagers on the server, try having a business that has 500 teenagers as employees. One HR disaster after another. Honestly, our worst problem is all the retired guys that deliver pizzas. 60 year old man + young, cute order taker girl = Lawsuit waiting to happen.....
  22. Going to prison convicted of abusing/molesting/killing children is about as bad as it gets. This guy will probably need to be isolated or the other inmates will probably kill him. After they have their way with him. :Randy-git: eww.
  23. He's not shitting guys. That is probably the best CSS movie I have ever seen. Warning: If you feel any pressure on your bladder, empty it before you watch this movie.
  24. I'm sure some of you have seen this, but I think it is worth repeating. This is an oversimplification of the tax laws and not 100% accurate, but it is close. How Taxes Work . . . This is a VERY simple way to understand the tax laws. Read on -- it does make you think!! Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this: The first four men — the poorest — would pay nothing; the fifth would pay $1, the sixth would pay $3, the seventh $7, the eighth $12, the ninth $18, and the tenth man — the richest — would pay $59. That's what they decided to do. The ten men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement — until one day, the owner threw them a curve (in tax language a tax cut). "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20." So now dinner for the ten only cost $80.00. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But what about the other six — the paying customers? How could they divvy up the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his "fair share?" The six men realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, Then the fifth man and the sixth man would end up being PAID to eat their meal. So the restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay. And so the fifth man paid nothing, the sixth pitched in $2, the seventh paid $5, the eighth paid $9, the ninth paid $12, leaving the tenth man with a bill of $52 instead of his earlier $59. Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to eat for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man who pointed to the tenth. "But he got $7!" "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man, "I only saved a dollar, too . . . It's unfair that he got seven times more than me!". "That's true!" shouted the seventh man, "why should he get $7 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison, "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!" The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night he didn't show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered, a little late what was very important. They were FIFTY-TWO DOLLARS short of paying the bill! Imagine that! And that, boys and girls, journalists and college instructors, is how the tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore. There are lots of good restaurants in Monaco and the Caribbean. Where would that leave the rest? Unfortunately, most taxing authorities anywhere cannot seem to grasp this rather straightforward logic!
  25. The men wearing white lab coats will arrive shortly......... Do not resist.
